My Sister was a resident at Ashurst Park.
Claire was evicted from another local care home in June last year and became a resident then.Claire's care was excellent under Jomina and her wonderful broad team.On Easter Sunday Claire became unwell and there was no choice other than to send her to hospital at.The staff were in daily contact with us for the two weeks Claire was there and they were keen to have her home as they knew that would be the best for Claire.Sadly that was not to be and after two weeks receiving excellent care, Claire lost her battle with pneumonia.

Jomina and her team were very supportive to us after Claire died and have treated us as family. We could not thank them enough for the kindness shown to us all for the ten months that Claire was there and after she died.

I was extremely worried and upset about my mum being moved to another home, but the move as been so positive and extremely comforting. Mum has been so upset and agitated, but things have calmed down since being cared for the right way for her needs.

I can't praise the manager and the staff enough, and they have also comforted me when I have been upset and helped me to realise I need to not feel guilty. Thank you all.

My mum has been living at this care home for several years now, and I honestly couldn't be more grateful for the love and care she receives every single day. From the beginning, it felt like she found her second family there. All the carers are genuinely caring, always smiling, and go above and beyond to make the residents feel comfortable and valued.

The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the place is exceptionally clean and well looked after. It brings me so much peace of mind knowing that my mum is in such a safe and happy environment. Thank you to all the amazing staff, you truly make a difference.

Mum has been in Ashurst for approximately 4 years. In her time there Mum did demonstrate some challenging behaviours and could be emotionally variable. But the staff got to know her so well and knew what she enjoyed (music, being in the garden) as well as what frustrated and upset her. They were patient and kind with her at all times and I cannot thank them enough for the care and compassion they gave to Mum.
When Mum decided the time had come to end her fight with dementia the staff came to say goodbye to her along with her family and made sure that her passing was peaceful and pain free.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff and especially one member of staff in particular for their kind words and support they gave to my Dad, my sister and myself at the end. It meant so much to all of us - thank you.

I am very happy to wholeheartedly recommend Ashurst Park Care Home.

I want to share my sincere thanks to the staff and management at Ashurst Park for the care shown to my mother during her stay. Mum's care needs gradually evolved during her 2.5 year stay and I was delighted to see that the team anticipated her needs at every step, consulting with me as needed. Mum was happy and felt safe. She enjoyed interactions with the staff, the games, food, events and other entertainment and even started trying new things.

Knowing that she was well cared for helped me to focus on enjoying her company, updating her with the latest news on friends and family, looking through old photos and being able to be her daughter when I visited. It was a relief that I could hand over responsibility for all the health challenges, hospital visits to a team I could trust.

Thank you.

I cannot give enough praise and many thanks for the way my mother was cared for by all the staff. Myself and the manager had an excellent rapport when we had our conversations. The senior nurses, especially and all their staff could not have given any more. My mother passed away on 6/1/2025, without their care she would have passed much sooner. A great big thank you to you all.

Review from Richard A (Partner of Resident) published on 16 January 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My partner moved into Ashurst Park in early September 2024, it was a difficult time for me and my partner, for me apprehension about what to expect after her previous care home and for my partner heightened anxiety and fear due to her Alzheimer's and mental health issues. Straight away I noticed a more professional approach to person-centred care and the engaging and friendly nature of all the staff, this continues to this day. What I appreciated most was a willingness to listen to my concerns about decisions for my partner who lacks capacity and awareness of her needs. The manager and the mental health nurse and all the other staff took note of what I had to say to facilitate a better understanding and approach to my partner's care was in stark contrast to my previous experience at the first care home and has resulted over the last three months to a position where my partner is less agitated, anxious and fearful and has happily settled into the home.

I arrived at Ashurst Park on the 27th of December after other homes were not for me. I had been bedridden for a year. With the help, care and kindness of all of the carers, management and the whole of the staff I left today after 9 months fully fit and healthy. I can't thank this place and its wonderful staff enough. The food is great, the entertainment is great and the care is exceptional. I wouldn't have believed there could be so many loving genuine caring people in one building, but there is and I saw it for myself. If you are looking for a home for yourself or a relative look no further you won't beat this place. Without this place and people, I would still be lying there, instead, I am sitting at home watching television with my wife. I would like to thank one person in particular but I can't put his name, but he and the management know who he is. Thanks my man and thanks to everyone at Ashurst Park Care Home.

Wow! Just what an amazing place. The Manager, care staff, and nurses are on another level, unbelievably caring, attentive, and loving. My son was evicted from the last care home because they couldn't cope with his seizures, but not only has the number of seizures dropped drastically since being here, his whole demeanour has changed. He is happy, far more alert, and always beautifully dressed. He thoroughly enjoys all the fresh cooked food and snacks. He also loves being out in the garden.

The manager is extremely knowledgeable on so many levels as well as caring and supportive. It was heartbreaking to make the move but now I just wish we'd done it sooner. Thank you.

Exceptional care and caring from all levels of staff. Always greeted by smiling faces. My husband is more settled than ever since he entered the care system at a previous home in May 2023. This is due to the hard work and level of care he now receives since being at Ashurst Park. Thank you all.

Dad has been here for a couple of months now having been evicted from his previous care home in as they could not cope with his advanced dementia and behaviour despite advertising as such a home. After a meeting with the Manager at Ashurst Park, both my Mum and I were reassured that Ashurst Park was the right place for Dad to be re-homed. Since he came here under less than ideal circumstances as previously mentioned, Dad has dramatically changed for the better. The care is outstanding as are all of the staff. He is cleaner, better behaved and is thriving. The staff actually can manage complex dementia needs. The home does not just advertise its dementia services. It delivers. It is such a weight of Mum's and all of the family's minds that Dad is receiving the excellent care and support that he is currently getting. I cannot praise everyone concerned with Dad's care highly enough. Thank you all.

Mum came to Ashurst Park for respite care in April 2024 when her mobility suddenly deteriorated and we were struggling to look after her. The manager and her wonderful team were there for us and have provided Mum with the additional care and support that she needs. Mum has now made the transition to becoming a full-time resident and every time we visit she is content, comfortable and well cared for with her nails painted! The staff are extremely friendly and every time we visit the residents are together taking part in the daily activities which is lovely to see. When we visited Mum last week we were lucky enough to hear the guitarist performing some great renditions of one of Mum's favourite bands. He was brilliant! Mum is also enjoying the food. We are so fortunate to have found this fabulous care home for Mum and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Every time I visit, Mum always seems happy and is full of stories of what has happened since I last visited. Mum has been resident since October 2022 and has been very happy and well cared for. The manager is a strong leader with high standards and she ensures the very best conditions and care for her residents. The manager and her team have responded sensitively to the changes in Mum's needs, the staff are so gentle and kind with her. The home is clean and bright and the food certainly looks and smells good. When she was able, Mum often said how lovely and comfortable she feels there, so I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashurst Park.

I have been very pleased with the care given to my friend since she has been at Ashurst Park. The atmosphere has always been like a busy "home". I'm happy to see so many residents up and dressed. Particularly impressed with the activity sessions. There are many staff members, so care is always available. All the staff are friendly and kind. The rooms are clean and bright. The only downside was the "smell" upstairs, which was disappointing.
