My mum lived at Ashurst Park from August 2019 up until she passed away in May 2023. Ashurst has a lovely homely atmosphere with a spacious living room and dining areas and a friendly welcoming nature. The reason for my mum's care is that she had a stroke which left her completely paralysed down her left side. She also suffered a lot of pain from the stroke, but the staff always tried to be extra gentle with her and sensitive to her needs. She was mainly bed bound, but the staff still made sure she had regular visits to her room and they would chat to her and keep her company. I was always made to feel very welcome during my regular visits too. No home is perfect, so issues did occasionally crop up, but I would not mark the home down for this because the management team always responded to any issues and concerns very quickly and efficiently. Special mention must go to my mother's nurses, who were great to her the whole time she was there, she loved both of them.

I am living at Ashurst Park since February 2022. I rate the staff and the manager 99.9% with outstanding care and treatment. The remaining 0.1% is dealt with immediate acting by the manager as she thrives for 100% and nothing less to keep families and residents happy and informed.

Even though I have complex health issues causing difficulties staff are compassionate to deal with the situation. I really enjoy my stay at Ashurst Park.

I always try to be honest about what I see. You cannot put a price on your family's health and care.
I wrote a review last year, praising the young ladies who get proactive, and take time to get residents involved in activities. I went to visit my mother, for the first time on a Saturday, there were none of the regular staff present, a group of 4, or 5 were all together in what I believe was the kitchen.

My mother told me that she had wet herself in the morning, as it had taken 25 minutes for staff to take her to the toilet. These people were mostly out of sight, it took nearly 15 minutes for someone to come and take my mother to the toilet, whilst I was there. It was a disappointment to learn that the one activities young lady, had now been deployed to do cleaning, rather than activities. My mother has become unhappy over the last few months, the home no longer has the staff to care for her, so it is time to move her elsewhere.

My partner moved to Ashurst Park just before Christmas 2022. He had been in a residential care home for the previous eighteen months.
In the care home, he was bedridden with an array of problems, but since moving to Ashurst Park, his whole character has improved immensely.
Even though his dementia, is slowly increasing, his physical being has much improved.
He is still unable to walk, but with the wonderful help of all of the staff and management, he is much happier and fulfilled with his day-to-day routine.
I cannot thank all that assist him, enough for their input.

At last, I can relax in the knowledge, that he is being so well looked after.

Mum was placed here temporarily as she was no longer able to remain in her own home due to a deterioration in her health and mobility issues. She has since chosen to make this permanent. The care she has received has been superb, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Mum is a completely different person now. She's happy, chatty, smiley and looks so well and looked after.

My sister has been cared for at Ashurst Park for the last few months, since undergoing surgery for a bleed on the brain. We are so grateful for the care they have taken, and they have been very supportive to the family while she is recovering from this operation and other problems. I would like to thank all the staff there for their continued support during difficult times for us all.

My mother became a resident in July 2020 a difficult time for everyone. The manager and her team were caring right from the start, mum was treated with respect and dignity by all the staff. When mum passed away everyone was so kind and said such lovely things about her even though I know she could be tricky at times. Thank you all.

My Gramps has been living at Ashurst Park for nearly 2 months now and it’s genuinely such a lovely place. It is always absolutely spotlessly clean. The food looks and smells lovely, you know it must be when the staff eat it too! The bedrooms are a nice size with plenty of storage. The staff are absolutely amazing! The manager has been incredible and nothing is too much trouble. Gilbert is amazing with Gramp’s health. One staff member always has a funny story to tell us about what Gramps has been up to. And two staff members are just amazing at arranging stuff to do and keeping the residents entertained! There’s always something going on with live music, quizzes, painting, drawing and bingo! I and my husband have ended up joining in a few times as they make it so fun! Thank you all for taking such good care of Gramps!

My mother has been a resident at this home for two months now and I am so pleased with the standard of care received and provided by the helpful and efficient staff, for whom no request is too much trouble. This home really feels like a proper home, and every time I have visited my mother she has been mixing with other residents has been dressed well and her room and en-suite bathroom have been spotlessly clean. I always arrive unannounced and am made to feel very welcome. The lounge area has a vaulted ceiling and has a bright and airy feel. The furnishings are tastefully done with none of those awful hospital-style chairs. In other words, it’s a nice place to visit as well as live. I’m looking forward to going into the gardens when the weather improves. My mother has a very pleasant room with a door onto the rear garden. The dining area is very spacious with round tables and plenty of room for wheelchairs. I really can’t fault the place at all and wholeheartedly recommend it.

My mother, aged 99, has been a resident for some 23 years and maybe the longest client. I have always been pleased with the level of care and genuine affection with which she is treated by the staff. Communication is first class whenever an issue of medical care, vaccination, and similar arises. Upon visits, my mother has always appeared well cared for. The home has been able to safeguard her health through the pandemic. In summary, I have always been pleased with her placement.

We first came across this care home when my mother stayed for 6-months in 2019. This time my sister needed their care and, although she was only there for a short while, the care standard was excellent again. The staff can’t do enough for you. My sister hadn’t been able to sleep in a bed for about 15-years, they managed to get her in bed and comfortable and she slept well. They did everything they could to make my sisters’ last few days comfortable and she passed away peacefully with all her family around her. A superb home in beautiful surroundings, I would recommend it to anyone.

My mum has been with Ashurst Park Care Home for 25-years this year, arriving as a lady in her mid-50s following a sudden illness. My mum has continued to blossom and flourish at Ashurst Park Care Home which is and always has been very much her home. The staff always do the very best they can for the residents and should be applauded and congratulated on how they have managed the last two years during Covid-19. I would and in fact have recommended Ashurst Park Care Home to anyone looking for long term care for their loved one.

The home is clean and tidy. My mum enjoys doing jigsaws in the home, and the staff take an active interest in this by helping her and adding a few pieces to the jigsaw. This keeps my mums mind active. My mum has made friends with a number of the residents and the staff. My mum enjoys the food in the home; there is always a choice for each meal.

I have two residents in Ashhurst Park Care Home for whom I hold power of attorney. The ambience and decor of the home is bright and welcoming and cleanliness is key. The carers and particularly the nursing staff are patient and understanding. I am kept informed of any concerns that arise by telephone as I live some distance away. I particularly would like to express my confidence in the manager who is totally involved with the residents' care but is also very supportive of me and is always available if I have any concerns.

My lovely sister spent the last week of her life at Ashurst Park in October 2020, having spent two weeks respite care in July/August at a time when we didn't know how near the end she really was. She was looked after with the utmost care and love by all the staff. The Ashurst manager and her staff really seemed to understand her health and emotional situation. I believe, they took her to their hearts, and indeed, they still talk about her now. She was a true and devout Christian, and she was given a dignified and loving send-off with a bible reading in her room as she peacefully slipped away. Her family give all our thanks to you and your colleagues, who made her final days so peaceful.
