Ashurst Park cares for older people and is able to offer superb palliative care.

The home is situated in the Kent countryside, just five miles from Tunbridge Wells and is conveniently located for local amenities and public transport. In 2017 the home won several Tunbridge Wells in Bloom Awards for iths beautiful gardens and planting.

The care home is located on the edge of Fordcombe village and is surrounded by landscaped gardens. In 2016, Ashurst Park was completely renovated to create a charming and characterful place to live.

Bedrooms at Ashurst Park are single occupancy, though some are large enough for couples to share. A number of bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all have television and telephone points and are linked to a nurse call system.

Ashurst Park has several quiet lounges including one with a grand piano, while the home has several TV lounges for residents to use. They can also enjoy traditional home cooked food in separate dining areas, where they can socialise with others, while all meals are prepared on-site by chefs who are able to cater for all dietary requirements.

A qualified chiropodist and complementary therapies regularly visit the home, which also has its own salon, run by an experienced hair stylist.

An activities therapist provides a varied programme of activities. These are organised in close consultation with residents and relatives to ensure that there is always something for everyone to enjoy.

My sister has been cared for at Ashurst Park for the last few months, since undergoing surgery for a bleed on the brain. We are so grateful for the care they have taken, and they have been very supportive to the family while she is recovering from this operation and other problems. I would like to thank
all the staff there for their continued support during difficult times for us all.

My mother became a resident in July 2020 a difficult time for everyone. The manager and her team were caring right from the start, mum was treated with respect and dignity by all the staff. My Gramps has been living at Ashurst Park for nearly 2 months now and it’s genuinely such a lovely place. It is always absolutely spotlessly clean. The food looks and smells lovely, you know it must be when the staff eat it too! The bedrooms are a nice size with plenty of storage. The staff are absolutely
amazing! The manager has been incredible and nothing is too much trouble. Gilbert is amazing with Gramp’s health. One staff member always has a funny story to tell us about what Gramps has been up to. And two staff members are just amazing at arranging stuff to do and keeping the residents entertained! There’s always something going on with live music, quizzes, painting, drawing and bingo! I and my husband have ended up joining in a few times as they make it so fun! Thank you all for taking such good care of Gramps!

My mother has been a resident at this home for two months now and I am so pleased with the standard of care received and provided by the helpful and efficient staff, for whom no request is too much trouble. This home really feels like a proper home, and every time I have visited my mother she has been
mixing with other residents has been dressed well and her room and en-suite bathroom have been spotlessly clean. I always arrive unannounced and am made to feel very welcome. The lounge area has a vaulted ceiling and has a bright and airy feel. The furnishings are tastefully done with none of those awful hospital-style chairs. In other words, it’s a nice place to visit as well as live. I’m looking forward to going into the gardens when the weather improves. My mother has a very pleasant room with a door onto the rear garden. The dining area is very spacious with round tables and plenty of room for wheelchairs. I really can’t fault the place at all and wholeheartedly recommend it.

My mother, aged 99, has been a resident for some 23 years and maybe the longest client. I have always been pleased with the level of care and genuine affection with which she is treated by the staff. Communication is first class whenever an issue of medical care, vaccination, and similar arises. Upon
visits, my mother has always appeared well cared for. The home has been able to safeguard her health through the pandemic. In summary, I have always been pleased with her placement.

We first came across this care home when my mother stayed for 6-months in 2019. This time my sister needed their care and, although she was only there for a short while, the care standard was excellent again. The staff can’t do enough for you. My sister hadn’t been able to sleep in a bed for about 15-years,
they managed to get her in bed and comfortable and she slept well. They did everything they could to make my sisters’ last few days comfortable and she passed away peacefully with all her family around her. A superb home in beautiful surroundings, I would recommend it to anyone.

Although my sister was only a resident for a very short time at Ashurst. All of the staff were absolutely wonderfully caring, helpful, and compassionate. We chose Ashurst as they had also looked after my mother until she passed away there in 2019. I would recommend the home to anyone.

My mum has been with Ashurst Park Care Home for 25-years this year, arriving as a lady in her mid-50s following a sudden illness. My mum has continued to blossom and flourish at Ashurst Park Care Home which is and always has been very much her home. The staff always do the very best they can for the
residents and should be applauded and congratulated on how they have managed the last two years during Covid-19. I would and in fact have recommended Ashurst Park Care Home to anyone looking for long term care for their loved one.

My Dad has been a resident since October 2021. The care has been fantastic, he has been very happy and he's improved significantly since being under the care. He enjoys the singer who performs on Mondays. The engagement between the staff at Ashurst Park and its residents is very good.

The home is clean and tidy. My mum enjoys doing jigsaws in the home, and the staff take an active interest in this by helping her and adding a few pieces to the jigsaw. This keeps my mums mind active. My mum has made friends with a number of the residents and the staff. My mum enjoys the food in the

I have two residents in Ashhurst Park Care Home for whom I hold power of attorney. The ambience and decor of the home is bright and welcoming and cleanliness is key. The carers and particularly the nursing staff are patient and understanding. I am kept informed of any concerns that arise by telephone
as I live some distance away. I particularly would like to express my confidence in the manager who is totally involved with the residents' care but is also very supportive of me and is always available if I have any concerns.

My lovely sister spent the last week of her life at Ashurst Park in October 2020, having spent two weeks respite care in July/August at a time when we didn't know how near the end she really was. She was looked after with the utmost care and love by all the staff. The Ashurst manager and her staff
really seemed to understand her health and emotional situation. I believe, they took her to their hearts, and indeed, they still talk about her now. She was a true and devout Christian, and she was given a dignified and loving send-off with a bible reading in her room as she peacefully slipped away. Her family give all our thanks to you and your colleagues, who made her final days so peaceful.

Although Mum only ended up staying at Ashurst Park for 3 weeks before passing on, the staff there were wonderful to deal with. They were completely open and accomodating to our own needs and requests, understanding how difficult the decision of placing a loved one into care can be for the family.
In
this Covid age, we never visited Mum at Ashurst Park but set in the Kent countryside, I'm not sure that there is a lovelier place to spend our twilight years.

My father was admitted to Ashurst Park after his discharge from the hospital. The care home manager gave us great confidence when we had a meeting with her and I felt relieved that Dad was under her care. The deputy manager and the whole care team are just wonderful and treated my father with the utmost
respect and dignity during his stay. They were so kind to my mother and always made her feel welcome. She always had a lovely cup of tea waiting for her and loved her chats with the staff. Dad loved the food and kept raving about it, so much so that Mum and I were tempted to book a room ourselves! I would not hesitate in recommending Ashurst Park, headed by the most amazing manager who has a brilliant team.

My mum lived at Ashurst Park Care Home for just over 2 years, she was completely immobile and had to be hoisted between bed and chair. During her time here she came to view the staff as friends, they treated her respectfully and with friendliness. We as relatives were always made to feel welcome and
the staff always had time to answer any questions we had. Mum never wanted to go into the lounge and spent her time in her room and the staff always popped in regularly to have a chat with her and see if she needed anything. Having experienced other care homes with other relatives, I know that not all care homes are of the same standard, but I would highly recommend Ashurst Park Care Home to anybody considering options for their loved ones.

The care that my Dad received was first class. From the moment he arrived to when he passed away. The staff and manager made him feel comfortable and treated him with dignity. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to friends and family. The care home and staff are five stars.

The care and love my Mum has received during the past couple of months has been “Second to None”. Having reached the fantastic age of 99yrs sadly her body became more and more frail, during this period everyone at Ashurst Park did their utmost to make her feel comfortable, pain-free, warm, safe and
very much loved.
At no point did I feel anxious or worried about her care and all the staff from the manager down were so easy to talk to and ask questions of. The whole family are so very grateful for the compassionate way in which she was cared for. Thank you to everyone.

Staff are friendly.


The manager has his finger on the pulse. The atmosphere is 'homely' - not at all like a hospital or impersonal hotel.


Gardens are used well in the summertime with outdoor activities.


Carers put on an excellent pantomime for the residents.
