My father is at Barty House, and been there about 2 months. When he went there he was not aware of his personal hygiene or appearance. He does have vascular dementia, but since being there you would not recognise him, clean is interested in the activities but not a great social person although now speaks to a few residents. Staff are amazing.

Barty House eradicated my stereotype of nursing homes. Initially nervous, I was very quickly blown away by the warmth of Barty House and the staff. It became a second home, with a second family during a time that couldn't have been harder for our family. The staff were respectful and caring to our Mum, making a difficult time one with hope and love. I will forever be grateful.

Thank you for your lovely words. It is the hardest decision anyone can make when placing a loved one in a nursing home, thank you for trusting the staff of Barty House to care and support both your mum and your family. It has been our honour.

This isn't just a nursing home. The staff at Barty house have become a second family. The warmth and the passion to care for others has got us through some difficult times this year. They have not only supported our Mum, but us too. I feel very lucky that our Mums end of life care was here.

On initial visit, Barty House felt very welcoming, clean & lovely. We patient & family, felt we were treated as very special, and the staff treated everyone in the same way - residents, visitors & each other. They were all very clean & smart, which also helped us feel this was the best place for him to end his days. They made time and space for us, and were helpful in every way.

Despite mum's worries about having to go into a nursing home, Barty House has exceeded both hers and our expectations. The care, compassion and dignity with which mum is treated often goes over and above. The staff remember the little habits, needs and nuances which make mum's life there enjoyable. The daily activities and personal interaction and friendship from the staff have enriched her life and continue to do so. The management team are very procative, helpful and responsive to any additional needs, concerns and problems. Such a welcoming and friendly environment to visit.

All the staff (and there are many of them!) were extremely friendly and attentive to residents and visitors alike on my surprise visit at lunchtime onwards to see a friend who had suffered a stroke and was being cared for.
They made sure all the residents were happy whilst I was there, and it was obvious the residents (including my friend) know some of the staff well and had a good connection, which was lovely to see.

The home has a great atmosphere, very positive from the top down (I met David the owner by chance who is very caring and personable!) and it's obvious staff work in a challenging environment, so thank you, keep up the great work!

My mother in law was always treated with kindness and dignety even with her bad health she was always clean, check upon needs met.

If I ever had any concerns they were always acted upon even though she was only in for 4 days every need was met. I can not think of a bad thing to say. I needed a disabled parking spot the manager was going to create me a place for future visits.

Barty house is a lovely place for my mother-in-law to be, so many wonderful caring people who look after her.
We can walk away knowing she is in the best possible place, any problems they will always give us a call, this gives us peace of mind.
My mother-in-law was put here after an operation to be assessed, to see if she would be able to manage at home by herself.
As yet we are awaiting the outcome of the assessment.
Us as a family believe this would be the best place for her as she has a few memory issues.
We thought if a nursing home was the outcome we would move her closer to us, but to be honest my mother-in-law has settled in really well, staff are amazing, they have activities most if not every afternoon, this is something my mother-in-law really enjoys, she loves socialising, being around people. If you visit in the afternoon, they will always ask if you would like to join in with your loved one, you can even stay and have lunch with them at a small cost.

Thank you Barty House for making my mother-in-law feel at home

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff from asking for pain relief to asking for a resident to have help for moving about the home. Residents are always asked if they need any help for anything especially help with changing clothes etc,

The staff are always courteous, polite and well dressed.

My mother who is a resident at Barty House for a couple of years, has always been treated with care, dignity and respect. She has complex needs which have been carefully considered and any concerns I have had, have been listened to and addressed, in particular I like the fact there is always an "open door" mentality by the care home manager if there are any issues that need to be addressed. The Carers are good, and have taken the time to "bond" with my mum.
My mum's clothes and laundry are always clean and housekeeping do their best. The kitchen staff also work hard to accommodate different food requirements. My only critique is that some areas where there is carpet, it is a little "tired" and could do with replacing/ new flooring?

Most of all, I feel that my mum is in "safe hands" which gives me peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend Barty House to anyone considering this as their new "home"

We have found the staff very helpful and friendly. They have answered any questions competently and taken on board any concerns that we have had relating to the care of my father. We have been notified if there have been any falls and updated to the outcome. It is very comforting to be able to discuss any medical issues with the nurses as they have arisen.
The food is lovely.
The rooms are kept clean and fresh.

My father says " they are very nice people here " a great comfort to us !
