The food is very good my friend is eating better then she ever has and enjoys her meals.
Staff treat my friend with dignity at all times and her care needs are met.
There is a good range of activities available even to those that aren't mobile.

They have been very sensitive and understanding for my mum coming into the care home for the first time and helping her feel safe and happy and able to make friends again and now feeling this is her home.

My mother-in-law moved to Broad Oak Care Home in August 2022 after stays in the hospital and other rehab and assessment units. We wanted to find her the best home that she could be happy and comfortable in, so we arranged to view the home, it's a beautiful home with lovely gardens and very comfortable rooms throughout the home. We picked Broad Oak and arranged for mum to move there. After a settling-in period, she now loves living there and gives us peace of mind too, the staff are so lovely, very friendly and very caring. It's lovely that we can join in as a family in some of the activities they put on, especially at certain times of the year like Christmas etc. Mum is happy and comfortable loves all the staff and feels that it is also her safe place! Thoroughly recommend this home!
Thank you for your kind words. We are so happy to hear your mum feels like she is safe and comfortable. We will certainly pass your comments on to the manager and if you need any further support please do not hesitate to let us know.
Mum came into the home in August. We have been very happy with all the care she has received. The staff are very caring and friendly.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so glad to hear that you are happy with the care your mum receives.
From speaking to the call centre, to my aunt's admission, we have received a first-class service. Everything was arranged over the busy Christmas period and she arrived at Broad Oak on the 4th January. When we visited on the 23rd December we were given a comprehensive tour of the home and everything was fully explained regarding her stay and the treatment she would receive. The staff go out of their way to make us feel welcome when visiting and always willing to answer any questions we may have. My aunt is treated with kindness and respect and the staff are very attentive to her needs. Broad Oak has a very warm feeling and we know we could not have found a better place for her. Her room has a beautiful view over the grounds with the sun streaming through the window. Perfect!
We really appreciate the time you've taken to leave your comments. We are so glad to hear the staff at Broad Oak Manor have made you feel so at ease, knowing your aunt is receiving the best care possible and we will certainly pass your praises onto the manager.
Very happy since my brother moved here. He has settled well, and the staff are caring and treat us all with respect.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
You can't beat it. I can't criticise it. Nothing wrong with it.
Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you feel 'you can't beat it'. Thank you for choosing us to care for you.
Very friendly staff, polite and accommodating. Couldn't wish for my brother to be in a better care home. He is enjoying the activities and spending time in the lovely gardens. My auntie is also in Broad Oak Manor and settling in well.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that your brother is enjoying the activities and our lovely garden. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make both your brother and auntie comfortable and settled in our care.
I have been a resident at Broad Oak Manor for a few years and from the beginning, I have always been happy with the care and the home's facilities. I am very happy with the cleanliness of the home, as well as the variety of activities. I cannot fault the food at all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We really appreciate your feedback.
Very happy with how loved and cared for, my nan is here. All the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Any concerns I do have, are addressed and sorted straight away and it has become like our family home. My nan is our world and we are happy she is treated very well here.
Thank you for your feedback. We are so happy to hear that you all feel like a part of our Broad Oak Manor family.
When my husband and I came to the care home, we had no idea of what lay ahead. Like most care homes they were short-staffed, especially at night. Also, there was little time for one-to-one caring. My husband is severely deaf so only a few other people bothered to speak to him and he became quite lonely.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sad to hear that you feel your Husband was lonely during his stay with us. We did assist him to take part in the varying activities each day and he spent much of his time in the lounge areas with the other residents during the day. If you have any ongoing...
I would recommend Broad Oak Manor to anyone. When my mother had to have an operation In September 2021, I came to Broad Oak for 7-weeks of respite care. My mother now needed respite care, so I thought this is the best place for both of us. I was so pleased with the care I received last time. All of the staff cannot do enough for me and my mother, and it gives me peace of mind that she is being cared for properly.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We are glad to hear that you felt well looked after in our care and that you would recommend Broad Oak Manor to anyone. Thank you again for your kind words.
Although it is hard to be totally bed-bound, my aunt has been well treated. The activities coordinator has been excellent giving her one to one attention, very impressed with her. In the past, my aunt's personal preferences re television have not always been noted, which given that is all she has is a shame but much better now. Flowers need to be kept where she is able the see them! Generally, very impressed with all staff.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make your Aunts stay as comfortable as possible.
Sadly Mum is end of life, which is a difficult enough situation to be in. Recognising the exceptional circumstances, the manager, assistant manager and all the wonderful caring staff that work there were able to move my mum to a separate area to facilitate single visits (with all the PPE precautions in place). I cannot thank them enough.
On arriving at the care home I thought what a beautiful place. A beautiful house and grounds, everything looked so clean and inviting.
All I can say is what a wonderful caring and dedicated team. The residents are very blessed to have this. Thank you all.
Thank you for trusting us with your loved one’s care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
Most of the people asleep in chairs not enough interaction, 3 ladies we got to know were always so fed up and always looked sad, they all said they were just waiting to die.
Not allowed out of their rooms in the morning unless the staff say so (most elderly are awake early).
Labelled all mums clothes but she had other people’s stained tops or trousers on many times, again someone else’s fault.
We bought mum new clothes and when she came out they couldn’t find them.
Turned up one lunchtime to take her out and she was at a table with a bib on which she did not need at all.
We couldn’t wait to get her out of there and we were lucky as she had respite after an accident.
They say they don’t take dementia patients but they had many there.
The longer someone stays there the more likely they will become the same.
We are concerned to hear this. Could you please contact our Feedback Team by emailing feedback@bupa.com or calling 0113 381 6293 so we could discuss this further?
The care staff are generally very good but at times basic care such as mouth care is not adequate enough.
Agency staff will be being used and do not have the same enthusiasm and drive as regular staff and I feel this can be seen with the length of time it takes for medications to be given, such as morning meds nearer to lunchtime.
I also worry about continuity and ongoing liaison with other community providers, such as GP, speech and language, physio and palliative providers.
I am hoping that whatever has caused the leaving off so many staff will be resolved and new permanent staff employed as a matter of urgency.
At present, I would not be recommending this home until new staff and management are in place and morale has improved.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We will certainly discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help us continually improve our service.
In my experience, the care home gives good value for money and has looked after my cousin well! I have found the staff helpful and polite and always willing to be helpful. They have been particularly helpful following my cousin's recent passing. I would recommend this home to others.
We are so sorry about your cousins passing. Thank you for the kind feedback.
From day one of Dad being at Broad Oak he has been looked after. Always clean and freshly dressed every day. Dad prefers his own company, so the staff always make sure the TV is on and food is taken to his room. Staff are friendly and the room is always clean and freshly made.
Thank you for trusting us with your fathers care. It is always a pleasure to receive such lovely feedback.
