Broad Oak Manor is a beautiful Edwardian manor house set within a peaceful village, providing residential, nursing and short stay care, including palliative and convalescence care. The home is CQC registered to provide care for over and under 65 years. It's not far from the busy M25 and A2.

There are lots of places where residents can seek out company or enjoy a little quiet time, with the home having a cosy feel whilst retaining charming period features. They can get their hair or nails done in the salon, settle down with a book in the quiet lounge, or join in with an activity. The home is surrounded by lovely landscaped gardens.

A varied food menu is available, and meals can be enjoyed in a dining room, though residents can choose to eat in the privacy of the bedroom if desired. Snacks, lighter options and homemade cakes are available throughout the day as well as a night bite menu.

The home always listens carefully to what the residents have to say, especially when it comes to planning activities. Pamper sessions, flower arranging, movie nights, and arts and crafts among the many activities that residents can choose from seven days a week, including those who are less mobile.

Couldn’t rate this care home high enough! My mum has been here since October 2022, from Christmas cards, to birthday cards and cake to Easter eggs, she’s included in it all. The staff are attentive and take care of her in an unbelievable way, given her fragile state.
Highly recommend this care home
to anyone.

My mother-in-law moved to Broad Oak Care Home in August 2022 after stays in the hospital and other rehab and assessment units. We wanted to find her the best home that she could be happy and comfortable in, so we arranged to view the home, it's a beautiful home with lovely gardens and very comfortable
rooms throughout the home. We picked Broad Oak and arranged for mum to move there. After a settling-in period, she now loves living there and gives us peace of mind too, the staff are so lovely, very friendly and very caring. It's lovely that we can join in as a family in some of the activities they put on, especially at certain times of the year like Christmas etc. Mum is happy and comfortable loves all the staff and feels that it is also her safe place! Thoroughly recommend this home!

From speaking to the call centre, to my aunt's admission, we have received a first-class service. Everything was arranged over the busy Christmas period and she arrived at Broad Oak on the 4th January. When we visited on the 23rd December we were given a comprehensive tour of the home and everything
was fully explained regarding her stay and the treatment she would receive. The staff go out of their way to make us feel welcome when visiting and always willing to answer any questions we may have. My aunt is treated with kindness and respect and the staff are very attentive to her needs. Broad Oak has a very warm feeling and we know we could not have found a better place for her. Her room has a beautiful view over the grounds with the sun streaming through the window. Perfect!

Very friendly staff, polite and accommodating. Couldn't wish for my brother to be in a better care home. He is enjoying the activities and spending time in the lovely gardens. My auntie is also in Broad Oak Manor and settling in well.

I have been a resident at Broad Oak Manor for a few years and from the beginning, I have always been happy with the care and the home's facilities. I am very happy with the cleanliness of the home, as well as the variety of activities. I cannot fault the food at all.

Very happy with how loved and cared for, my nan is here. All the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Any concerns I do have, are addressed and sorted straight away and it has become like our family home. My nan is our world and we are happy she is treated very well here.

When my husband and I came to the care home, we had no idea of what lay ahead. Like most care homes they were short-staffed, especially at night. Also, there was little time for one-to-one caring. My husband is severely deaf so only a few other people bothered to speak to him and he became quite lonely.

I would recommend Broad Oak Manor to anyone. When my mother had to have an operation In September 2021, I came to Broad Oak for 7-weeks of respite care. My mother now needed respite care, so I thought this is the best place for both of us. I was so pleased with the care I received last time. All of
the staff cannot do enough for me and my mother, and it gives me peace of mind that she is being cared for properly.

Although it is hard to be totally bed-bound, my aunt has been well treated. The activities coordinator has been excellent giving her one to one attention, very impressed with her. In the past, my aunt's personal preferences re television have not always been noted, which given that is all she has is
a shame but much better now. Flowers need to be kept where she is able the see them! Generally, very impressed with all staff.

My mother arrived at Broad Oak Manor for palliative care. During these Covid surreal and difficult times, as we were unable to see her, the nurses, care assistants and events team made it possible to update us with video remote and mobile phone to my mum which were invaluable to us.
Sadly Mum is end
of life, which is a difficult enough situation to be in. Recognising the exceptional circumstances, the manager, assistant manager and all the wonderful caring staff that work there were able to move my mum to a separate area to facilitate single visits (with all the PPE precautions in place). I cannot thank them enough.
On arriving at the care home I thought what a beautiful place. A beautiful house and grounds, everything looked so clean and inviting.
All I can say is what a wonderful caring and dedicated team. The residents are very blessed to have this. Thank you all.

Very unclean had to speak about the downstairs toilet on every visit and it was always somebody else’s fault. Her room was not cleaned thoroughly (under the bed, units not wiped).
Most of the people asleep in chairs not enough interaction, 3 ladies we got to know were always so fed up and always looked
sad, they all said they were just waiting to die.
Not allowed out of their rooms in the morning unless the staff say so (most elderly are awake early).
Labelled all mums clothes but she had other people’s stained tops or trousers on many times, again someone else’s fault.
We bought mum new clothes and when she came out they couldn’t find them.
Turned up one lunchtime to take her out and she was at a table with a bib on which she did not need at all.
We couldn’t wait to get her out of there and we were lucky as she had respite after an accident.
They say they don’t take dementia patients but they had many there.
The longer someone stays there the more likely they will become the same.

I have several concerns for my father following the departure of three staff nurses and the care home manager. My father cannot swallow and would have been given oral medication if we hadn't been there.
The care staff are generally very good but at times basic care such as mouth care is not adequate
enough.
Agency staff will be being used and do not have the same enthusiasm and drive as regular staff and I feel this can be seen with the length of time it takes for medications to be given, such as morning meds nearer to lunchtime.
I also worry about continuity and ongoing liaison with other community providers, such as GP, speech and language, physio and palliative providers.
I am hoping that whatever has caused the leaving off so many staff will be resolved and new permanent staff employed as a matter of urgency.
At present, I would not be recommending this home until new staff and management are in place and morale has improved.

In my experience, the care home gives good value for money and has looked after my cousin well! I have found the staff helpful and polite and always willing to be helpful. They have been particularly helpful following my cousin's recent passing. I would recommend this home to others.

From day one of Dad being at Broad Oak he has been looked after. Always clean and freshly dressed every day. Dad prefers his own company, so the staff always make sure the TV is on and food is taken to his room. Staff are friendly and the room is always clean and freshly made.

My father was only in Broad Oak Manor for 4 1/2 weeks and the care was outstanding. He went there for end of life care and all of the staff looked after him just like they would one of their own family members. We were made to feel welcome and when we visited daily it felt like Dad's second home.

My mother has settled well into Broad Oak. The care she receives is very good. She has a lovely bedroom and the surroundings/grounds are beautiful. The family are very pleased with Broad Oak and happy we moved our mother there. The reception/living rooms are excellent, very spacious, clean and tidy.
