Creedy House is an impressive Victorian building which has been sympathetically converted into an attractive and spacious nursing/ dementia care home.
The house has been attractively decorated and boasts elegant interiors and beautiful, accessible gardens. The dementia unit- called The Lodge, has been renovated in colours and themes to reflect the needs of those living with dementia. It has long open corridors so lots of space for those who wish to wander. The Lodge is ground level and looks over the south facing garden. The corridor has different themed sections that encourages conversations and reminiscence.
The home can accommodate up to 44 people who have nursing and dementia care needs. There are two rooms that accommodate a couple/ people wanting to share.
Staff provide a person-centred approach to care helping people to maintain their independence and promoting choice. Professionals want everything they do in the home to be driven by the needs, abilities, and aspirations of their residents.
Creedy House offers home-cooked food, a library, raised garden beds for green-fingered residents, music conservatory, sun lounge, quiet room and a full and diverse programme of activities. The home has a hair salon and chiropodist who visit routinely and as needed.
There is a real family feel within the Home.
Staff encourage families and friends to be an active part of the community and value the role which relatives and friends play in the care of residents and provide support for them whenever it's needed.

My mother has been a resident at Creedy House for nearly three years. She seems very happy there and enjoys the activities offered, particularly anything music related. The staff are very good with her, treating her with kindness, dignity and respect.

Thank you for your kind words. I will pass on your comments to staff.
We are very pleased with the way everything is done here. We call and visit on the same day with no problem. My mother-in-law is comfortable and well looked after. The room and she smell nice and clean. The staff are friendly.

I've found that since my wife has been in care at Creedy House she is so much calmer and settled than she has been for the past 15 months. She's only been here for a couple of months and I'm very happy with her care, well-being, and attention given by all the staff. Most excellent!

My husband enjoys the activities and when I'm there and it's music he loves to have a dance with me and a lot of the colouring he has done is put up on the walls. I cannot find fault in Creedy at all.
Thank you so much for your comments, we value positive feedback and that we are getting it right!
My father has now been at Creedy House for just over one year. He is happy and settled and I am very pleased with the care that he receives. Staff are always pleasant and courteous to both myself and my father and they have made what was a stressful situation so much easier to cope with.

My mother went into Creedy House suffering from dementia, having done so for a number of years. She attacked my husband in 2022 claiming he was a burglar. The police and ambulance crews attended and it was decided for her own safety to take her to Creedy House. This was the best decision we have ever made for her. She was very happy going there and in her own way, still. The staff love her to pieces. She loves the garden and from her window watches out for burglars in the area. Creedy House is well kept, clean with good food. My mum is well cared for and loved like one of the family. Thank you Creedy House.

I enjoy visiting my brother at Creedy House, there is always a friendly welcome by staff. Top marks for cleanliness, the communal areas are always kept clean and tidy and very nicely decorated with well-chosen colours. My brother and I enjoy sitting in the well-kept gardens and look forward to the various garden parties throughout the year. My brother enjoys the activities throughout the week. My only concern is the quality and nutrition of the food served. Overall very happy with my brother's care.
Thank you for your response. We are always trying to meet the nutritional needs of the individuals and I am hoping since our face-to-face discussion with your brother, choices have improved. He now goes out with our activity coordinator weekly to do a 'shop' also which has been very successful and confidence-building for him.
My sister has been at Creedy House since January 2023. We have found the staff to be very sympathetic and caring. My sister has been welcomed and Creedy has been very good at monitoring her bipolar condition.

Generally happy with the home, my wife appears content. Communication between the home and the family could be better and quicker. Plenty of activities are offered and the home is clean and safe. Staff are helpful to answer questions and booking visits is straightforward.

Your wife has been a resident with us for 7 years. Thank you for your comments. I relayed comments to all staff and we learnt to improve in the areas highlighted.
Mum has been extremely well looked after at Creedy House. She is stimulated with the music and other activities. Consequently, this has eased the extreme pressure on Dad when he was looking after Mum at home. Creedy staff always welcome the whole family.

Thank you. We know how difficult it can be to make the decision with a loved one having 24hr care and my team always strive to make the whole family welcome.

Friendly, kind and welcoming staff. Any queries are addressed promptly. The home is brightly decorated with suitable background music always playing- to stimulate dementia residents. Mum's ground-floor sunny room overlooked the garden. Her family were able to visit regularly so we could continue to interact with her (play ball games etc). She loved going around the garden, it's there to be used! She also enjoyed the regular entertainment. Again it stimulated the residents...so important! The staff looked after us as a family too, as we all had long journeys to see our lovely Mum. Lots of tea etc. Kept us going! Mum is now in a home nearer to us, it's not up to Creedys standards, so another move soon.
Thank you for such positive words. It really lifts staff to know they are doing a good job! we feel privileged to work in a home with such amazing residents and families.

At Creedy, all staff aim to give their best and it is really lovely to get positive feedback. Thank you, Nesta and the team.
