The home has been wonderful looking after my dad and the staff have been great they look after me too when I visit.
It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after so well. Thank you for choosing Eglantine Villa for your Dad's home.
My dear wife was a resident there for 18 months until she sadly passed away in June 2023. I cannot speak too highly of the staff that looked after and cared for her right up to the end. I cannot thank them enough for looking after her and knowing that she was happy there and knowing she was safe.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments, and we are saddened to hear of your loss. We are really glad to hear that our staff went above and beyond to help you and your Wife through such a difficult time. Hopefully, you are able to look back on this experience knowing she recieved the best possible care.
He is making friends to the best of his ability.
Staff are very caring and take care of his needs.
I have absolutely no complaints about this home.

My friend is clearly happy and settled at Eglantine Villa, Lavender Cottage. It is very reassuring for her friends and family to know that she is surrounded by such caring and professional staff at every level. The food is of outstanding quality and thoroughly enjoyed! The activities provided are stimulating and fun. There is a homely and optimistic atmosphere, which makes it a delightful home to visit. The beautiful grounds make a wonderful backdrop to view from the lounge and conservatory which is relaxing. I cannot recommend Eglantine Villa highly enough.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your friend in our care, We hope to continue providing them with the best possible care.
My Mum was taken into respite care for two weeks in February of this year. She has since become a permanent resident and I have to say that it is a relief for me knowing that my Mum is in excellent hands. As I live a few hour's drive from the home I was concerned that I would not be able to monitor my Mum. However, I am able to keep an eye on her from a distance via the Gateway system which gives me updates on my Mum and it has reassured me that my brother and I have 100% done the right thing having my Mum placed in the home. Since she has been there she has become engaged in lots of the activities in the home and all of her needs are being looked after. My Mum loves music and likes nothing better than to sing along with music and she appears to be settling into the environment well. She appears to be happy and content and that is all that we could wish for. I cannot thank all of the staff at the home for making this very difficult decision easier for us.

The staff are excellent, they really look after him. Nothing is too much trouble.
They have made it so much easier for him to accept living in a home.
The food is all freshly cooked and is excellent.
The grounds are well maintained and when it gets warmer we will be able to take him for a walk in our wheelchair as he has always loved to do gardening.
The Bupa relatives gateway is great for keeping updated.
The nursing staff keep us informed of any changes.
We looked at other homes in the area and this is definitely the best.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Uncle in our care. We hope to continue providing him with the best possible care.
I researched and viewed a lot of care homes in the area and this one came top with their outstanding reviews. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. My parents are safe, very well cared for and have settled down enjoying their new environment. If you are looking for a care home I would highly recommend Eglantine Villa.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. We hope Eglantine Villa Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible for you and your parents. It is always nice to hear from family members who feel like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We...
My dad was in Eglantine Villa since 2017, the carers showed my dad lots of love and care, my dad was quite a noisy character and enjoyed fun and banter which he got with the staff. They also managed him when his behaviour was challenging. I am very grateful and pleased that my dad spent his last few years at the home, the nurses and staff were amazing.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are pleased to hear that the staff were attentive towards your dad and his care during his stay with Eglantine Villa. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like he received the best possible care.
It has a home-from-home atmosphere, and the day staff go above and beyond to deliver outstanding service. Even though his stay was short, he had already started to call it his 'Villa'.
Sadly Dad passed not so long ago, but we know it was the best decision made, and he got the best care.

My father moved to Eglantine Villa in January 2023. He sadly suffered a stroke in December 2020, was in hospital in 2021 and in a nursing home in 2022. Sadly, due to the lack of care he received in the nursing home he had a steep decline in his very limited mental and physical capabilities. The move to Eglantine Villa has been such a smooth transition, the care is extremely attentive and he is very well looked after. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are well-kept. The staff are all very friendly and engaging and you can tell they care a lot about their job. My dad has started to engage in conversation for the first time in several months, he seems brighter and happier. The staff care a lot about residents engaging with other residents and they have taken the time to get to know Dad and his interests. The food looks lovely, I'm sure dad is loving the 'midnight menu' that is provided! I can finally find peace in that he is in the best place for him.
Thank you for your kind words. We are pleased to hear Eglantine Villa did everything they could to make his transition as easy as possible. We hope to continue providing your father with the continued support and engagement he is currently receiving.
Dad hasn't been at Eglantine for long, but in the short time he has been there, he has shown improvement following a year in a care home that didn't have the same level of care or facilities. The staff at Eglantine are brilliant, they make us feel so welcome as a family visiting our dad, and all seem to genuinely care about the residents and make a point of getting to know them. The facilities are also great, with the home feeling modern, clean and homely, which is really nice.
Thank you for leaving us your kind review. We are very happy to hear that you are pleased with the level of care your Dad is receiving alongside our excellent facilities. Thank you for Eglantine Villa for your loved one's stay.
Mum was moved into Eglantine Villa after suffering a brain injury. It was unfortunately no longer safe for her to reside at home. Since she has been a resident, her health and mobility have improved so much. Although given the choice, she would rather be at home, she understands that Eglantine is the best place for her at the moment. She has formed such wonderful relationships with the care team and has settled in beautifully. She'll often have friends come to visit and they will sometimes stay for lunch, which the care home provides, so willingly. The care she receives is second to none. The home is spotless and the food, is all home cooked. Not only do the staff make the residents feel at home, but visitors too. Always cheery and ready to talk. I know Mum is absolutely in the safest, most caring place, she could possibly be.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so glad to hear that your mum is happy in our care and now feels like this is her home. Thank you for choosing us to care for her.
My cousin is a resident at Lavender House, Eglantine Villa Care Home. The care she is receiving is excellent and the staff are always very kind and helpful. If there are any problems the staff will always make you aware. I know that she is very happy and enjoys living at this home.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you find the care to be excellent and that your cousin is happy in our care. We really appreciate you taking the time to write us a review.
My mum was in Eglantine Villa Care Home for 9 years. She was so well looked after by the staff with so much care. When she was poorly they would also phone to keep us informed. She was always clean. We did visit all the time and the staff were very friendly. Amazing home.
Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you could see how much your Mum was cared for by everyone at Eglantine Villa. Thank you for choosing us to care for her.
I have and will continue to praise the staff both at Lavender House and Eglantine Villas. My grandmother was a resident for 9 years. I have no doubt that the staff and the cleanliness of the whole establishment is the reason my beloved Nan lived for so long. I could walk away leaving Nan, safe in the knowledge that every single member of staff treated her as if she was their family member.
Thank you for your kind words. We are so glad to have been able to look after your Nan for nine years, hopefully knowing how well she was cared for is of comfort to you now. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us a review.
My mum spent the last two years of her life at Eglantine Villa and was very happy there. I am so glad we found it. The staff are compassionate and treat residents with real kindness. As a result, Eglantine Villa has a very homely and 'family' feel. The care is exceptional and to a high professional standard. The meals are varied and delicious! It is also well-managed and well-administered. And cannot praise nor thank the nurses and carers enough for their dedication and skill as my mum approached her final moments. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so sorry for your loss, we hope that you are able to go away from this knowing that your Mum received the very best care at Eglantine Villa. Thank you again for your kind words.
When my mother was taken into Eglantine Villa on 25th March 2021, she was welcomed by the caring and friendly staff. When I myself went to visit my mum in Eglantine Villa for the first time, I was welcomed and found the staff very professional and very understanding. I am a nurse myself and found the care provided by Eglantine Villa to be outstanding from the management down to the nursing staff and housekeeping. If Mum needed anything day or night, she only had to ask, and it would be provided. If I could choose any nursing home in the area, this would be number one. I would like to thank all the staff at Eglantine Villa for caring for my mum and wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend this care home to anybody who needs loving care.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is lovely to hear that you and mum felt welcomed in our home and that you are happy with the care mum has received. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your Mums stay as comfortable as possible.
Just recently, my dad became unwell with dementia. It all happened so quickly and he was admitted to the hospital, then transferred to Eglantine Villa. The whole process was draining, especially dealing with Dads affairs. But the process was made much easier by the wonderful staff that work here. Within days, Dad has established relationships with the professionals and they have really made him settled and welcome. I mentioned the word professionals as that what these special people are and I wouldn’t want Dad cared for by anyone else. I’ll not mention names for data protection but I state this about all the staff. They really make them part of their family and interact with residents constantly. Love the fact they have care dogs as Dad always liked dogs.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad to have been able to support you all through this difficult transition. We are also happy to know you all feel like your Dad is a part of the Eglantine Villa family and being well cared for. Thank you again for your kind words.
Mum lived at Eglantine Villa for two years until her death. She was treated with love, respect and kindness... just like a member of the family. The staff were wonderful and formed great relationships with her, often joking, laughing and having fun. She was safe and happy. Before Mum moved to Eglantine Villa, my own life was filled with worry and stress. The difference and peace of mind can't be described. I could relax knowing Mum was well and had no risks or falls. No more midnight phone calls or trips to A&E. We got our relationship back too!
Thank you for your kind words. It is so lovely to hear that you felt the love, kindness and respect shown to your Mum by our staff and that she felt like part of the family at Eglantine Villa while she was with us. Thank you for trusting us to look after her.
Very caring staff members in a wonderful home. Mt father-in-law became friends with lots of the staff who went above and beyond for him. I also have very high regard for the manager who has been amazing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is always nice to hear words like “Wonderful” and “Caring” being used to describe our care.

Meet the Team (5)

Hello - my name is Bryony, and I am the home manager at Eglantine Villa. I started working for Bupa in 2012 as a care assistant before moving into admin roles. In 2018, I knew that my real passion was for care and how it can make a difference in people's lives, so I did some additional training and became a deputy manager at a 100-bed care home supporting those with nursing and residential needs. I became a home manager in 2020 and have now managed Eglantine Villa since 2022 alongside a fantastic team of carers, nurses, heads of department and support staff.
My favourite part of my job is meeting new people, hearing residents' life stories, alleviating worry from families and watching how our residents can flourish in our care. Our residents become part of our family, and I’m really proud of the service we provide. I genuinely love my job; there is variety in my role, and I laugh every day with my team and residents. I would never do anything else.
Outside of work, I love travelling to new places or countries, spending time with my family and friends, going out for walks and listening to music. I’m a proud, fun Auntie to 4 gorgeous nieces and nephews and have a French bulldog, Beau, who you may sometimes see at Eglantine Villa, enjoying lots of attention (and biscuits!) from the residents.

I joined Bupa as a clinical deputy manager in 2025.
My career in the care home sector spans 15 years, beginning as a carer before progressing to deputy manager in 2016. After three years in that role, I took time out to return to education and completed my nursing degree at the University of Greenwich. Following this, I returned to the care home environment, once again stepping into the deputy manager position.
Working in care services gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. I am passionate about caring with kindness and empathy, learning from others, and feeling fulfilled through the work I do. I also take great pride in mentoring those who are new to care and seeing them grow into confident leaders within the sector.
Outside of work, I am married with two children—a boy and a girl—and I treasure spending time with my family, who mean everything to me. I enjoy listening to music and travelling, and I live locally to the home.

I’ve been part of Bupa for over five years, beginning my journey as a kitchen assistant before stepping into my current role as chef manager. My career started in the hospitality industry, which I found both rewarding and enjoyable, but I reached a point where I wanted something more meaningful.
When the opportunity arose to join a care home, I realised it was a chance to explore a new direction—one where I could see the impact of my cooking every day. Getting to know the residents, hearing their stories, and working closely with the care team has given me a sense of purpose that I don’t believe I would have found anywhere else.
I enjoy the positive working environment here. Our home manager is always supportive, and we work well together as a team. The home’s location also suits me, allowing me to balance my responsibilities at work with my life as a devoted husband and father of three beautiful daughters.
I moved to the UK from Jamaica, and I’ve never had any regrets about taking that leap. Outside of work, I’m a big football fan—Arsenal is my team—and I’m genuinely passionate about what I do. Living locally helps me stay closely connected to both my family and the home.

I have been the senior activity coordinator for a year, having previously worked as a carer here at Eglantine for a year before moving into activities. I am a mum and a former preschool practitioner, so caring comes naturally to me. I have always had a passion for events, creativity and bringing joy to others. After spending time as a stay?at?home mum, Eglantine felt like the perfect place to return to work—both for my family and for myself.
I feel genuinely privileged to work in a care home setting and to be a constant presence in our residents’ lives. Having the opportunity to enrich their days and support their well-being is something I hold a deep passion for, and I pride myself on always going the extra mile.
My greatest passion and achievement in life is my family. Raising my six children and encouraging them to become confident, capable and kind adults has been the greatest honour. My friends also mean everything to me; I lost my mum at a very young age, and my friends have been my strength and constant support throughout my life.
I love all things dramatic, especially West End shows and events. I live fairly locally to Eglantine and am committed to helping build strong, meaningful connections between our wonderful home and the local community.

I joined the home at the end of 2025 and quickly settled into my role. My career with Bupa began back in 2011, when I worked as a receptionist at another Bupa home until 2018. After gaining further experience elsewhere, I’m delighted to have returned to Bupa in a role I truly enjoy.
Before entering the care sector, I owned my own public house, followed by a haulage business that I ran with my husband. In 2011, I made the move into care as a nursing home receptionist, later progressing to an administrator role with another company. My background in customer service, administration and community-focused work naturally led me back to Bupa, where I’m pleased to continue supporting residents, families and colleagues.
What I enjoy most about working in care is the residents. Every day brings new conversations, stories and the chance to meet different people, which makes the role incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, I’m married with two grown-up children. I enjoy motor sports, reading, and meeting up with friends. I live just four miles from the home, which helps me stay closely connected to the community.
