The resident was a faithful member of our church for over 30 years. She wasn't just a member but a person who had a genuine connection in her heart to god. She was a real mother who cared faithfully for her children and that's why I'm so glad she was cared for by the staff at Eglantine Villa Care Home. One knew not only was she properly looked after but there was a genuine love, the hearts of the staff that when we couldn't give that living care we could trust them to do it.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
My father's health went rapidly down hill and after a few weeks in hospital, we made the decision to put him into a care home. This was a huge decision and made us full of fear when you read some of the horror stories about care homes. From the first moment I wheeled my dad in he felt at home at Eglantine Villa. The facilities are great, the staff are better and have made the hardest decision of our lives so much easier to bear. They are kind to Dad and make him feel at ease. The food is great and nothing is an issue. We are visiting as a family to have a roast with Dad and ideally take him to the pub in a wheelchair and again the home has been nothing but accommodating.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, it is always the bad that gets reported and not the good. I hope that now you have seen how well cared for your Father is and that he is happy and settled you have peace of mind. I hope you all enjoy the roast and have a good time at the pub.
Although my aunt was only in Eglantine Villa for a short time I can honestly say that every member of staff, from the receptionist, carers, nurses, cooks to management level, were kind and helpful in every way. Not only with my aunt, but also to me. Their support for me helped me through a sad time and I shall always be grateful.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that your aunt was well cared for and that you received the support that you needed at such a sad time.
Very friendly, helpful, accommodating and caring staff. If buzzer pressed always responds in a reasonable time. Food generally Ok, can sometimes be hotter but generally very accommodating.
Cleanliness good. More in room activities would be nice if you are unable to get to the lounge. In room mass would be nice or vicar visits.

He has been extremely happy at this home but has recently contracted pneumonia and was admitted to Hospital. Now that he has returned to the home he is receiving palliative care from the extremely loving and caring team at Eglantine Villa.
I cannot praise their care and the loving atmosphere enough.
Thanks to them the last days of his life will be spent in a calm and secure atmosphere.
Thank you for your review. So sorry to hear that your farther is very unwell. It is lovely to hear how well you regard our staff and the care that they are taking in looking after your father.
The staff are very kind and willing to help with answering any questions we have and also doing everything to help make my mother's stay here a very happy one.
I would definitely recommend this care home to any persons looking for a placement for a loved one.

Although my wife was only in the care home for one week before she died she was exceedingly well cared for. I think of this being the nursing home of a thousand smiles, visitors were always welcomed with a smile. This seemed to affect the whole atmosphere. Well done keep up the good work!

Eglantine Villa is a very well run nursing home with a welcoming atmosphere. They are able to provide excellent care and support to my frail mother, who has significant mobility problems on a continuing 24-hour basis. The staff and managers are welcoming and approachable. The nursing home also provides care in a separate unit for residents with a dementia-related condition and is able to deploy staff accordingly.

During the tenure of the new care manager, the standard of care has exceeded the previous good to excellent despite the disruption caused by the refit. The residents have been kept safe, happy and entertained. The improvements in the facilities will benefit all. My mother is coming to the end of life and the staff have taken the family into their care and making things easier for us. We now have firsthand experience of the food provided, in a kitchen that awaits a refurb. Thanks to all the staff for the excellent care.

I cannot praise the staff enough for the wonderful care they have provided for my mother during her stay here. In these last days of her life, they have provided outstanding care to both her and the immediate family. I have now experienced first hand the excellent food provided on a daily basis and the kitchen staff have been so accommodating. The care manager has been incredibly supportive at all times and I can only say a very big thank you to everyone (all staff in every department). This home is proof of what a difference outstanding care can mean to the lives of both the resident and their family.

Meet the Team (5)

Hello - my name is Bryony, and I am the home manager at Eglantine Villa. I started working for Bupa in 2012 as a care assistant before moving into admin roles. In 2018, I knew that my real passion was for care and how it can make a difference in people's lives, so I did some additional training and became a deputy manager at a 100-bed care home supporting those with nursing and residential needs. I became a home manager in 2020 and have now managed Eglantine Villa since 2022 alongside a fantastic team of carers, nurses, heads of department and support staff.
My favourite part of my job is meeting new people, hearing residents' life stories, alleviating worry from families and watching how our residents can flourish in our care. Our residents become part of our family, and I’m really proud of the service we provide. I genuinely love my job; there is variety in my role, and I laugh every day with my team and residents. I would never do anything else.
Outside of work, I love travelling to new places or countries, spending time with my family and friends, going out for walks and listening to music. I’m a proud, fun Auntie to 4 gorgeous nieces and nephews and have a French bulldog, Beau, who you may sometimes see at Eglantine Villa, enjoying lots of attention (and biscuits!) from the residents.

I joined Bupa as a clinical deputy manager in 2025.
My career in the care home sector spans 15 years, beginning as a carer before progressing to deputy manager in 2016. After three years in that role, I took time out to return to education and completed my nursing degree at the University of Greenwich. Following this, I returned to the care home environment, once again stepping into the deputy manager position.
Working in care services gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. I am passionate about caring with kindness and empathy, learning from others, and feeling fulfilled through the work I do. I also take great pride in mentoring those who are new to care and seeing them grow into confident leaders within the sector.
Outside of work, I am married with two children—a boy and a girl—and I treasure spending time with my family, who mean everything to me. I enjoy listening to music and travelling, and I live locally to the home.

I’ve been part of Bupa for over five years, beginning my journey as a kitchen assistant before stepping into my current role as chef manager. My career started in the hospitality industry, which I found both rewarding and enjoyable, but I reached a point where I wanted something more meaningful.
When the opportunity arose to join a care home, I realised it was a chance to explore a new direction—one where I could see the impact of my cooking every day. Getting to know the residents, hearing their stories, and working closely with the care team has given me a sense of purpose that I don’t believe I would have found anywhere else.
I enjoy the positive working environment here. Our home manager is always supportive, and we work well together as a team. The home’s location also suits me, allowing me to balance my responsibilities at work with my life as a devoted husband and father of three beautiful daughters.
I moved to the UK from Jamaica, and I’ve never had any regrets about taking that leap. Outside of work, I’m a big football fan—Arsenal is my team—and I’m genuinely passionate about what I do. Living locally helps me stay closely connected to both my family and the home.

I have been the senior activity coordinator for a year, having previously worked as a carer here at Eglantine for a year before moving into activities. I am a mum and a former preschool practitioner, so caring comes naturally to me. I have always had a passion for events, creativity and bringing joy to others. After spending time as a stay?at?home mum, Eglantine felt like the perfect place to return to work—both for my family and for myself.
I feel genuinely privileged to work in a care home setting and to be a constant presence in our residents’ lives. Having the opportunity to enrich their days and support their well-being is something I hold a deep passion for, and I pride myself on always going the extra mile.
My greatest passion and achievement in life is my family. Raising my six children and encouraging them to become confident, capable and kind adults has been the greatest honour. My friends also mean everything to me; I lost my mum at a very young age, and my friends have been my strength and constant support throughout my life.
I love all things dramatic, especially West End shows and events. I live fairly locally to Eglantine and am committed to helping build strong, meaningful connections between our wonderful home and the local community.

I joined the home at the end of 2025 and quickly settled into my role. My career with Bupa began back in 2011, when I worked as a receptionist at another Bupa home until 2018. After gaining further experience elsewhere, I’m delighted to have returned to Bupa in a role I truly enjoy.
Before entering the care sector, I owned my own public house, followed by a haulage business that I ran with my husband. In 2011, I made the move into care as a nursing home receptionist, later progressing to an administrator role with another company. My background in customer service, administration and community-focused work naturally led me back to Bupa, where I’m pleased to continue supporting residents, families and colleagues.
What I enjoy most about working in care is the residents. Every day brings new conversations, stories and the chance to meet different people, which makes the role incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, I’m married with two grown-up children. I enjoy motor sports, reading, and meeting up with friends. I live just four miles from the home, which helps me stay closely connected to the community.
