I can barely find enough good words to use about Eglantine Villa. Everything from the setting to the staff is exemplary and although sadly, my Mum only spent 9 days there, her care was perfect and the staff were particularly good in what turned out to be her final 2 days. We felt so comfortable and welcome when we were there that it made our sad time easier to deal with. I really can't recommend it enough and we'll never forget the care Mum received.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments. We are very saddened about your loss. We can only hope Eglantine Villa could help you through such a difficult time as best as possible.
Thank you.
My father was at Eglantine Villa for 5 months from June 2018. He was happy there and loved the homely atmosphere. The staff here always go the extra mile, from the carers, facilities staff, nurses, catering, housekeeping and admin, they all contribute so much to the residents. Our family was always warmly welcomed and we were happy in the knowledge that Dad was so well cared for when we were not there. Dad built good relationships with the wonderful staff and appreciated how much they did for him, especially in meeting his particular taste in food. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Care Home, which is run so efficiently, whilst making residents feel special. They are always treated with dignity and respect. A very special, safe place for your loved ones. Well done to all the staff.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team
I cannot sing the praises of Eglantine Villa enough. Since my mother became a resident following a near-fatal hospital stay earlier this month coming from another care home, my brothers and I have been extremely impressed by the organisation, professionalism and duty of care shown by all members of staff in the care home, from the care home manager, right through to the nursing and ancillary staff. I have never known such attention to detail, record keeping and monitoring to exist. It has brought a peace of mind to us as a family knowing that she is in such a cared for place, with staff who clearly are totally dedicated and want to ensure the best possible care, comfort and dignity for her. Our mum had been in another care home for over 4 years, and it is only since she has been here at Eglantine that you can truly appreciate the extraordinarily high standard of this care home, and that it unsurprisingly has an outstanding CQC rating. I would recommend this care home unreservedly.
Thank you for your review of Eglantine Villa Care Home. We are pleased to hear that you and your mum have had a positive experience at the home and appreciate your comments regarding the peace of mind you had knowing that the staff upheld a high degree of attention and care to your mum's needs. We will share your comments with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team
Although my mother was a resident of Eglantine Villa for only a short period of time, it has left a great impression on me. My mum was cared for to a high standard and always treated with dignity. All the staff, without exception, are approachable, caring and friendly to both residents and their families. The support we were given when our Mum passed away was outstanding.
Thank you for your review of Eglantine Villa Care Home. My aunt was treated with respect and dignity throughout her stay. We, her family, were welcome at any time and always met with professional and efficient service. Thank you for your kindness throughout.

My mother was resident for 8 years, her sister 4 years and my mother's partner 2 years. Staff were excellent, particularly at the end. My mother was treated with utmost respect and dignity. This home has greatly improved under the present manager. It became a warm environment for us all. Professional, caring staff.
I am pleased to hear that you have seen an improvement with the home. Thank you for your review.
My dad was lucky enough to spend his last few days of life at Eglantine Villa Care Home, and although he was only there for just under a week, the staff gave 100% in their roles of looking after him. My family and I couldn't fault the home in any way. Thank you for everything.
Thank you for your review and kind words about Eglantine Villa and I am sorry for your loss.
The home and gardens are kept beautifully thanks to the manager and all staff and excellent food.
Last week, with heavy snow and ice, I was told all the staff managed to get in - dedication.
Contragulations to all.
Thank you for your review about Eglantine Villa. It is a credit to the wonderful staff and I'm really pleased that you and your husband have had a positive experience with our home.
They have always provided the highest level of attention to the resident and her family. We have been able to leave my mother in law in the certain knowledge that she was safe and loved. We have, over the years, come to regard the staff as part of our extended family and are so pleased that she was able to be cared for in the last years of her life at Eglantine.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and such kind words about our staff. I'm sure that when you look back on the time that your mother in law spent with us, it will give you comfort knowing that she was loved and well cared for.
We think this is of a very high standard. The food is excellent.
The staff can't do enough for anyone, very friendly.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
My mother-in-law chose Eglantine Villa on the death of her husband in February 2001. She was unable to care for herself, being paralysed from the waist down. She had all of her mental faculties, thus, should she have had any complaints about her care she would have voiced them! We were extremely happy with every aspect of Eglantine and when the decision came to admit my mother in July 2011 (suffering from dementia) we did not hesitate, knowing that the care was first rate. One physically and the other mentally impaired, the attention to all of their needs were met with smiles and affection - the staff were indeed an extension of their family and the mothers were treated with kindness and dignity. The atmosphere in the home was always welcoming and 'cosy' - I have my place booked there. I respect all the staff members who go 'over and above' their working remit to spread happiness and comfort to their residents.
Thank you for your review and kind words about our staff. It is lovely to hear that your mother and mother in law were so well cared for in our care and happy. It is the little things like a smile that make all the difference.
My husband and I cannot praise them enough and thank them all.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
My mother has been a resident for 2 years, arriving at the age of 99 3/4 and is now approaching her 102nd birthday in March 2018. The family could not be more pleased to have found this wonderful nursing home, which has met and exceeded all our expectations. My mother is in excellent hands, enjoying continuous personal attention (care, nutrition and activities) despite being bedridden; never ignored, always included. This outstanding treatment is founded on a culture of staff excellence and compassion in all areas. Simply put, the staff feel like an extension of our family.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear how well cared for your mother is in our care. I know this will give you peace of mind knowing that when you are not there you don't need to worry. It is the little things like taking time for a chat or just a smile that makes all the difference and makes it more like a family. I hope you have a party for her 102nd birthday.
My mother moved to Eglantine from another placement, with severe dementia. Her room was bright, airy and spotless. Although Mum was unable to participate, there were lots of activities for residents to enjoy. My elderly, frail father visited regularly and was made very welcome by all the staff. The home has a happy, relaxed atmosphere and all the staff seem to enjoy their jobs. During Mum's last days my sister, Dad and I spent a lot of time with her and this was never a problem. Mum was well cared for right to the end. Cannot fault the home!
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review I hope that when you look back on the time your mother spent with us it gives you comfort knowing that she was well cared for.
My dear friend and mother-in-law to my son spent her last eleven days of her life at Eglantine Villa. She was treated with respect and dignity, all the staff were kind and caring nothing was too much trouble for them.
The lady who runs the home would come and sit with my friend when she was distressed and talk to her and calm her down, she was amazing, so kind.
All the staff were kind and caring and would even look after us and make sure we had eaten.I cannot praise them enough for their kindness at such an awful and sad time for us.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and such kind words about our staff. I hope that in time when you look back this gives you comfort knowing that your friend was well cared for.
We will always be thankful for everything they did for her. They were also very kind to our family and understood how difficult this time was and did everything they could to make it even a little easier. They supported my wife the whole time and made it possible for her to spend quality time with her mum when it mattered most.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and kind words. I hope that in time when you look back on the time that your mother in law spent with us it gives you comfort knowing that she was well cared for.
The grounds are lovely, as are the rooms. We had a room that overlooked the grounds which was lovely for my mum. Having to leave your own home when you are very poorly is extremely hard but this place really felt so homely. The small touches in the rooms like the toiletries and hairbrushes, along with the dressing gown helped make it feel even more comfortable.
The best bit about it was, without a doubt, the management team and their wonderful staff. They cared not only for mum but also for us. They made sure we ate, constantly bringing us snacks and offering us lunch and dinner. They made it possible for me to stay with my mum towards the end, something which I will be eternally grateful for.
I would highly recommend this care home to anyone that is faced with the difficult decision of finding a home for their loved ones.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and kind words about our staff. It is the little things like her own hairbrush that makes all the difference. I hope that when you look back on the time that your mum stayed with us this gives you some comfort knowing that not only your mum but your family were well cared for.
Simply the best! Fabulous staff, second to none in a homely and spotlessly clean environment. I don't know how they do it but I'm glad they do. At such a crucial time as end of life you don't get reruns or second chances to get it right, so choosing Eglantine Villa Care Home was the best decision we could have made and we will always be glad of it. The standard of care is always high and we are always warmly welcomed. We also leave knowing that loving care is being given. We feel supported by highly skilled professionals who have just got it right. A heartfelt and massive thank you to them.
Thank you for your review and lovely words about our staff and home. It is the little things like a smile or just listening that makes all the difference and I hope that you have peace of mind knowing that when you're not there they are well cared for and loved. I will pass your comments to the home manager.
She was always treated with such love and by all the staff and they also were always extremely welcoming to her visitors and made to feel very much at home 10/10
So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.

Meet the Team (5)

Hello - my name is Bryony, and I am the home manager at Eglantine Villa. I started working for Bupa in 2012 as a care assistant before moving into admin roles. In 2018, I knew that my real passion was for care and how it can make a difference in people's lives, so I did some additional training and became a deputy manager at a 100-bed care home supporting those with nursing and residential needs. I became a home manager in 2020 and have now managed Eglantine Villa since 2022 alongside a fantastic team of carers, nurses, heads of department and support staff.
My favourite part of my job is meeting new people, hearing residents' life stories, alleviating worry from families and watching how our residents can flourish in our care. Our residents become part of our family, and I’m really proud of the service we provide. I genuinely love my job; there is variety in my role, and I laugh every day with my team and residents. I would never do anything else.
Outside of work, I love travelling to new places or countries, spending time with my family and friends, going out for walks and listening to music. I’m a proud, fun Auntie to 4 gorgeous nieces and nephews and have a French bulldog, Beau, who you may sometimes see at Eglantine Villa, enjoying lots of attention (and biscuits!) from the residents.

I joined Bupa as a clinical deputy manager in 2025.
My career in the care home sector spans 15 years, beginning as a carer before progressing to deputy manager in 2016. After three years in that role, I took time out to return to education and completed my nursing degree at the University of Greenwich. Following this, I returned to the care home environment, once again stepping into the deputy manager position.
Working in care services gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. I am passionate about caring with kindness and empathy, learning from others, and feeling fulfilled through the work I do. I also take great pride in mentoring those who are new to care and seeing them grow into confident leaders within the sector.
Outside of work, I am married with two children—a boy and a girl—and I treasure spending time with my family, who mean everything to me. I enjoy listening to music and travelling, and I live locally to the home.

I’ve been part of Bupa for over five years, beginning my journey as a kitchen assistant before stepping into my current role as chef manager. My career started in the hospitality industry, which I found both rewarding and enjoyable, but I reached a point where I wanted something more meaningful.
When the opportunity arose to join a care home, I realised it was a chance to explore a new direction—one where I could see the impact of my cooking every day. Getting to know the residents, hearing their stories, and working closely with the care team has given me a sense of purpose that I don’t believe I would have found anywhere else.
I enjoy the positive working environment here. Our home manager is always supportive, and we work well together as a team. The home’s location also suits me, allowing me to balance my responsibilities at work with my life as a devoted husband and father of three beautiful daughters.
I moved to the UK from Jamaica, and I’ve never had any regrets about taking that leap. Outside of work, I’m a big football fan—Arsenal is my team—and I’m genuinely passionate about what I do. Living locally helps me stay closely connected to both my family and the home.

I have been the senior activity coordinator for a year, having previously worked as a carer here at Eglantine for a year before moving into activities. I am a mum and a former preschool practitioner, so caring comes naturally to me. I have always had a passion for events, creativity and bringing joy to others. After spending time as a stay?at?home mum, Eglantine felt like the perfect place to return to work—both for my family and for myself.
I feel genuinely privileged to work in a care home setting and to be a constant presence in our residents’ lives. Having the opportunity to enrich their days and support their well-being is something I hold a deep passion for, and I pride myself on always going the extra mile.
My greatest passion and achievement in life is my family. Raising my six children and encouraging them to become confident, capable and kind adults has been the greatest honour. My friends also mean everything to me; I lost my mum at a very young age, and my friends have been my strength and constant support throughout my life.
I love all things dramatic, especially West End shows and events. I live fairly locally to Eglantine and am committed to helping build strong, meaningful connections between our wonderful home and the local community.

I joined the home at the end of 2025 and quickly settled into my role. My career with Bupa began back in 2011, when I worked as a receptionist at another Bupa home until 2018. After gaining further experience elsewhere, I’m delighted to have returned to Bupa in a role I truly enjoy.
Before entering the care sector, I owned my own public house, followed by a haulage business that I ran with my husband. In 2011, I made the move into care as a nursing home receptionist, later progressing to an administrator role with another company. My background in customer service, administration and community-focused work naturally led me back to Bupa, where I’m pleased to continue supporting residents, families and colleagues.
What I enjoy most about working in care is the residents. Every day brings new conversations, stories and the chance to meet different people, which makes the role incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, I’m married with two grown-up children. I enjoy motor sports, reading, and meeting up with friends. I live just four miles from the home, which helps me stay closely connected to the community.
