Our family member's physical and mental wellbeing has improved remarkably in the three months he has been at Emily Jackson. It is clear that the entire team-including management, nurses, admin, hospitality, activities, and housekeeping-shares a genuine sense of purpose. They are consistently professional, courteous, and dedicated.A highlight was when the home facilitated a surprise reunion with his wife. This emotional moment left "not a dry eye" among staff and residents. Thank you to everyone at Emily Jackson for giving our loved one his quality of life back.

Our grandfather first came to Emily Jackson two months ago and from the beginning we were amazed with not only the high level of care and attention to detail but the team really have the time to care and take each individual's needs in to account. Two months on the standards are not only consistent but the level of care has actually improved further as the team learns more about our grandfather. I highly recommend the home to anyone. Apart from the amazing team the organisation prides itself on ensuring the dignity of all and ensures where possible residents carry on as they would at home and engage as much as they want to in everything from meals to general activities.

My Dad spent 11 days at Emily Jackson House in September 2025, receiving end of life care. I was overwhelmed by the level of warmth, care and compassion shown to him and to me. Every member of the lovely staff there were friendly and kind. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and everyone bent over backwards to help my Dad feel as comfortable as possible. Although he was sadly there for such a short time, I'll always be glad and grateful that he spent his last days at Emily Jackson.

Staff are always helpful and friendly, and have made dad feel very welcomed at the care home. The weekly activities are excellent especially the music events on a Thursday which dad really enjoys.

The Adin team, from my initial call (a bit of an emergency), handled our securing a Respute room for our mother with speed, efficiency & a huge welcome for our family in 24 hours... and then welcomed us all days later to celebrate her 93rd birthday.
For 2 week we couldn't find a fault & was so comforting for us to know she was in such "caring" hands.

On every visit we were all treated so well and welcomed at EJ.

I spent 2 1/2 weeks at Emily Jackson recovering from emergency surgery after a similar length of time in hospital . The staff and nursing care were excellent and EJ House was exactly what I needed before returning home. A number of staff had been working there for more than 10 years and I found everyone to be caring and professional. If I was a long term resident , I would have liked a larger room . Food was fine.

Our dad moved to Emily Jackson House for some respite care after a week in hospital, following some falls at his home. We were undecided whether he should eventually return home or stay in long term care. Having seen dad spend 4 weeks in care, we noticed a big change in his attitude to life and an improvement in his general health. He is eating and drinking really well, is mixing with the other residents and seems much happier being around more people. The carers and all the other staff have been really friendly, professional, helpful and caring towards dad and also us. We looked at other care homes locally but decided dad was in the best place that he could be. Thanks to all the team.

Our mum spent 4 weeks in respite care. The management team and majority of staff were brilliant (one member, who has since left was not so great). The bedroom was very small - hence the reason we moved from here to another facility long term but perhaps there are larger rooms. The decor is pleasant but tired. The facility lacks some of the communal areas that other large homes have, meaning the activities program is more limited. Felt the reception area could be more 'open' - the window often partially closed. Excellent food, particularly the cake.

I am a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector, and I currently serve as the General Manager at Emily Jackson House Care Home. My journey in healthcare has been shaped by a deep commitment to improving the lives of others, and I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of roles that have enriched both my clinical expertise and leadership skills.

Over the years, I’ve held positions including Lead Nurse, Deputy General Manager, Clinical Manager, Regional Support (Peri Deputy Manager), and Clinical Development Nurse. Each role has given me a broader perspective on care delivery, team development, and the importance of creating a supportive environment for both residents and staff. These experiences have helped me grow into a leader who values collaboration, compassion, and continuous improvement. At Emily Jackson House, my focus is on creating a home where residents feel truly safe, respected, and cared for. I believe that high-quality care is not just about clinical excellence—it’s about making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it’s a warm greeting in the morning or ensuring every detail of their care plan is tailored to their needs, I’m passionate about making a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

Being part of Barchester Healthcare is a true honour. The organisation’s values—integrity, responsibility, passion, and empowerment—mirror my own. I’m proud to work alongside a team that shares a common goal: to deliver outstanding care and exceptional service to every resident, every day. We support one another, celebrate each other’s strengths, and continuously strive to raise the bar in everything we do.

I believe that a great care home is built on trust, teamwork, and heart. It’s a place where staff feel empowered, families feel reassured, and residents feel at home. I’m thrilled to be part of this journey and look forward to continuing to lead with purpose, compassion, and dedication. Together, we can make a lasting impact—one resident, one moment, one smile at a time.

I have been a registered nurse since 2010, beginning my career in the Philippines. After relocating to the Middle East, I worked as a nurse trainer, delivering Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training to healthcare professionals, while also managing emergency situations. In addition, I have supported the wider community by teaching Healthcare Assistant (HCA) courses, helping to equip carers with the skills and knowledge needed to provide quality support to older adults.

I transferred to the UK to pursue an opportunity at Emily Jackson House, where I began working as a Registered Nurse. After my vast experience in the role, I was internally promoted to Deputy Manager. I am deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in every resident’s life, ensuring they receive the high-quality, compassionate care they deserve and are able to live comfortably, safely, and with dignity.

Being part of Barchester Healthcare is a real privilege. The organisation’s core values closely align with my own principles. I’m proud to work alongside a dedicated team united by a shared purpose: delivering outstanding care and exceptional service to every resident, every single day. We uplift one another, recognise each other’s strengths, and continually challenge ourselves to achieve the highest standards.

I truly believe that a whole-home approach is the heart of exceptional care — one built on trust, collaboration, and deep compassion. It’s about creating a place where our colleagues feel valued and supported, families feel confident and at ease, and our residents feel genuinely at home. I’m elated and grateful to continue this journey, leading with purpose, empathy, and unwavering commitment.
