I am a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector, and I currently serve as the General Manager at Emily Jackson House Care Home. My journey in healthcare has been shaped by a deep commitment to improving the lives of others, and I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of roles that have enriched both my clinical expertise and leadership skills.

Over the years, I’ve held positions including Lead Nurse, Deputy General Manager, Clinical Manager, Regional Support (Peri Deputy Manager), and Clinical Development Nurse. Each role has given me a broader perspective on care delivery, team development, and the importance of creating a supportive environment for both residents and staff. These experiences have helped me grow into a leader who values collaboration, compassion, and continuous improvement. At Emily Jackson House, my focus is on creating a home where residents feel truly safe, respected, and cared for. I have been a registered nurse since 2010, beginning my career in the Philippines. After relocating to the Middle East, I worked as a nurse trainer, delivering Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training to healthcare professionals, while also managing emergency situations. In addition, I have supported the wider community by teaching Healthcare Assistant (HCA) courses, helping to equip carers with the skills and knowledge needed to provide quality support to older adults.

I transferred to the UK to pursue an opportunity at EJH, where I began working as a Registered Nurse. After three years in the role, I was internally promoted to Deputy Manager. I am deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in every resident’s life, ensuring they receive the high-quality, compassionate care they deserve and are able to live comfortably, safely, and with dignity.

I find great joy and fulfilment in my work, as it allows me to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents. I love engaging with them and their families, learning about their interests and hobbies, and creating enjoyable experiences tailored to their preferences.

Outside of work, I cherish my time walking my dog and spending leisurely moments on our boat at Wateringbury. My ultimate aim in life is simple, to be happy and to spread happiness to those around me.

A Kent local born in Tunbridge Wells and now residing in Langton Green, Denise brings her passion for cooking to her role as Kitchen Assistant at Emily Jackson Care Home, where she's been creating delicious, nourishing meals since September 2023.

A devoted wife and mother of two, Denise finds joy in crafting meals that bring comfort to residents. When not in the kitchen, she expresses her creativity through art, painting, often drawing inspiration from the beautiful Kent countryside.

With a clear vision for her future, Denise is determined to qualify as a chef. She appreciates how Barchester's comprehensive training programs are helping her develop the skills needed to achieve this ambition while continuing to provide excellent service to residents.

Charles Jr brings warmth, dedication, and a keen eye for detail to his role as a Housekeeping Assistant at Emily Jackson Care Home in Sevenoaks, where he has been an integral part of the team since February 2023. Originally from the Philippines, Charles now calls Sevenoaks his home, where he lives with his wife, Jane Delantes, a Registered Nurse at Emily Jackson House.
