Haydon-Mayer Care Home makes good use of space. Mum's room is a good height with plenty of natural light and is located where she can hear the life of the home. She is well cared for by an understanding and thoughtful team of staff. Bedbound by choice, the team have gently nursed Mum to do a bit more.
After her first six weeks in a nursing home, she is settling and the overall standard is good.

Mom was extremely well looked after. The staff were very friendly and gentle with her. Relaxed her when she got confused and made her laugh.
She was very well looked after by every member of Haydon-Mayer Care Home.

My husband has been in this nursing home for the past 2 and a half to 3 years. He has been quite happy and content in that time. the majority of the staff are very good and some of them have been there a few good years. The majority of the food served is home cooked and plentiful, you can always ask
for more! They do their best with activities, pity they never had transport.

1. I am pleased with the care my wife has at this home, most of the time.
2. But some physiotherapy would help her.

I always found the staff to be welcoming, helpful and caring. Mum was treated with respect and dignity especially in her final days before she sadly passed away. Mum lived at Haydon-Mayer Care Home for two years. She enjoyed good food and entertainment. Mum was kept clean, tidy and well looked after.
Her clothes were washed, ironed and put neatly away in her wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Staff deserve praise for their politeness, care and patience and for the respect and security they provide for residents and visitors. There is room for improvement in communication with relatives and friends. The physical environment is satisfactory, but shared rooms are cramped and the whole building
would benefit from some refurbishment.

The secret of this home is the team, pulled together by an amazing manager and her deputies. It is clean, staff and residents are happy and well cared for. Plenty of activities and the home is warm and inviting. Although my husband has now passed away, I shall carry on visiting with our little collie
dog. I cannot fault anything or anybody.

Since my husband was transferred to this nursing home, the staff have gradually interacted with him to make him adjust to the different surroundings. They have used their care compassion and consideration towards his needs and mine. Whenever I have a question or need help they all provide the time

Joined Nicholas James Care Homes in 2005, working as a registered nurse, became Registered Manager at Haydon Mayer in 2010, completed my leadership and management level 5 training.
