The staff in this home always seem to have time for the people in their care. Nothing is too much trouble. The residents seem happy and are well looked after. My mother's health has improved since he has been in the home.

We recently celebrated my dad's 90th birthday at the home. They could not have done more to make the celebration any better by providing afternoon tea and a birthday cake for all the family. The staff made it a special day for us, many thanks.

Hazlewood is an amazing place.
Every person I met breathed and incarnated the word care. Here everyone cares, the atmosphere is simply lovely.
I can imagine no better place on earth for an elderly person.
I recommend Hazlewood without any reservations.

Congratulations to all the staff.

Hazelwood Care Home provide a very caring and compassionate environment. My wife is treated with respect and she is well settled in the home since moving in October 2023. The home has been well-led. Staff are friendly and excellent activity support is given.

Family involvement is encouraged and welcomed. We feel like a big family. I note my wife has early onset illnesses and a high level of support is required.

My husband settled in well straight away at Hazelwood. The manager is very kind and friendly. I am welcome to see my husband as often as I like and I'm encouraged to join in with various activities if I wish to. It's stimulating for my husband and makes his day more interesting. It often feels like a club rather than a care home. He is very well looked after in regards to his medical welfare, which is very reassuring. All staff members are really caring and friendly.

From my very first visit I was struck by how lovely the home looked and how friendly, helpful and compassionate the people were at Hazelwood. Nothing was too much trouble and everything we asked for was provided. All the staff are wonderful with the residents and I see this time and again each time I visit. My mum settled in immediately, which was a huge relief and she tells her family and friends that it is wonderful living there. When we visit, we are made to feel very welcome and can participate in the activities and become part of my mum's new life there. I would recommend it to anyone and in fact, I have told my own children that I would be very happy to live there myself if the time ever came. Thank you to the whole team for looking after my mum so well.

An amazing care home! All the staff are friendly, caring and supportive, they really go above and beyond. The manager is very personable and helpful, regularly checking in with residents and families, and continually striving to improve our experience - though Hazlewood is already in a league of its own. My dad has been there nearly two years and he absolutely loves it, and we have no complaints at all. It’s a modern, clean building with a homely atmosphere, like one big family. The en-suite bedrooms are spacious and the food is great. There are lots of on-site facilities and a variety of activities for residents each week, as well as regular events that families can attend. The high level of person-centred care allows us to rest assured that my dad is safe, happy and well looked after. I honestly can't recommend it enough. I truly believe they have not only greatly improved his quality of life, they have extended it. We are so grateful for everyone at Hazlewood and all that they do.

My mum has been at Hazelwood now for over two years. During that time all the staff have always been kind, considerate and helpful to her and to me.

The cleanliness, facilities and food and drink have always been of the highest standard with no room for complaint. My mum's needs have never been too big or too small to be fully addressed. My mum was slow to join at first but over time she has been encouraged and now enjoys activities. She regards Hazelwood as her home and that's what a care home should be 'a home',

Mum has now been at Hazelwood Care Home for just over 12 months. The care and support she has received in this time has been exemplary, the staff continue to be genuinely friendly, caring and supportive to her and are always welcoming to myself and Mum's visitors. Mum enjoys the regular events involving all the residents and feels safe and cared for, as a family we are very pleased with the care provided. The home is always clean and fresh and Mum's clothes are regularly and frequently cleaned. Hazelwood provides a safe and caring happy environment and we are kept regularly updated as to Mum's health and wellbeing. As a family, we would like to thank the staff for all that they do for her. We happily recommend Hazelwood and are very pleased that a room was available when needed at very short notice.

I am always reassured by the care my husband receives at Hazelwood Care Home.
Recently because the heating system broke down all the residents were taken upstairs to the dining room where there was heat.
I was very impressed by the activities, carers and nursing staff that were able to organise a group of at lear 30 residents to have their lunch together with the least inconvenience to them.
Tables were cleared from the morning's activities and laid for lunch in a very calm and efficient way as to make the resident's life as comfortable as possible.
It seemed to me a challenging take as someone who is only used to witnessing the care my husband receives.

It proved to me how kind and caring the staff are at Hazelwood Care Home.

Hazelwood Care Home is a beautifully clean, well led care home. The food looks fresh and delicious, with a variety of drinks always on offer. All of the staff deserve praise for their care and dedication. Laundry is done promptly and to a high standard. Entertainment is a good varied selection. I visit Mum on various different days and times and am always impressed with their continuity, and met by happy staff. A warm caring environment where residents are cared for with dignity. Prior to choosing a new care home for my husband, we were shown all around the premises by the manager. I was impressed with the communal rooms: not too large, clean, comfortable seating, a 'homely' atmosphere in each, plus CCTV. We were able to personalise my husband's room to make it colourful and attractive.
We met the laundry staff and noticed the care they took of the clothes; all were washed at the correct temperature and then neatly folded to return to each room later. On arrival, I was impressed that the manager and one other were waiting outside, with a wheelchair, to take my husband to his room. He was unshaven, but within minutes, the manager gave my husband the best shave ever. It was carefully and kindly done.

We met some of the carers and nurses. All earned my respect and gratitude for their kindness and considerable knowledge of caring for dementia patients. I now feel assured that we could not have chosen a better place for my husband.

My father recently moved to Hazelwood Care Home. I was given a comprehensive tour of the home. It is welcoming and extremely clean. The rooms and communal areas are tastefully decorated. I met with The manager on four occasions to discuss my expectations and my father's requirements and he took the time to meet my father and review his care plans, NHS and council assessments and medication in great detail. My father's room is bright and airy. The furniture is clean and modern. I was given access to his room before move day to ensure everything was ready. On the day my father arrived, he was welcomed by the manager, care and maintenance staff. All were professional, kind and welcoming. Moving day was an emotional experience but all the staff made the process so much easier and gave the family comfort that he will receive excellent care and, when settled, will be happy and content. We are so grateful there was a room available. This is a truly lovely home.

Absolutely lovely care home. Amazing staff, who seem to really care about the residents and their well-being. They are also very friendly and keep us updated overall.
As a family, we are very glad we have finally found a care home to suit my aunties needs.

The reason I've put 4 stars for the room is purely because my auntie has nearly been in the home a year and there are a few marks on the walls (it's completely expected due to all the equipment being used) but nothing a bit of paint won't sort out. Overall, the care home is fanatic and would definitely recommend.

Dad was transferred to Hazelwood from hospital in May 2022 initially for assessment of his dementia and his ability to still live in his own home with care. It was decided in Dad's best interests that he stay within the care home environment. After his initial upset at not being able to go home he settled really quickly and it became obvious to us as a family that the loving care of everyone at Hazelwood was having a positive effect on Dad's wellbeing, suffice to say he has flourished in the environment or happiness, multiple activities, friends and all round good care. I would like to express my gratitude to all Hazelwood staff for their exemplary care of my Dad and for giving him a new lease on life at the age of almost 90! To anyone considering the minefield of moving a loved one into care I can only say in my opinion Hazelwood gives the highest quality of care, respect and friendship to all its residents and I'm thankful my Dad lives there.
