Kind friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been well looked after.

Mum was only at Newington Court for 2 weeks. However she was quickly treated as "one of the family". Her death was handled with caring and dignity. We, the family, were always warmly welcomed, it was a comfort to know she was being so well looked after.

Hello, I’m Phillis and I’m the General Manager. I have devoted over a decade of my life to the healthcare sector and I have particularly enjoyed working with the team at Newington Court. My passion for providing quality care to the elderly and vulnerable has been the driving force behind my successful career. Throughout the years, I have honed my skills and gained invaluable experience in managing a care home and I have demonstrated my unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of the residents.


My journey in the healthcare sector began shortly after completing my nursing qualification in Zimbabwe. Eager to make a difference in the lives of others, I found myself drawn to pursue a career in Elder Care. I joined Newington Court in 2017 as a Registered Nurse and I worked my way up to a management position. I enjoy staying up to date with the latest developments in the healthcare sector and networking with other professionals.


I value the opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas that aim to enhance the quality of care that we provide.


I find fulfilment in leading my team to provide exceptional care and support to residents. As a General Manager, I thrive in creating a positive and inclusive work environment for the team, where they can be motivated to deliver their best. I enjoy actively engaging with residents and their families, fostering strong relationships built on trust and respect. At Newington Court, we understand the importance of creating a warm and nurturing environment within the care home, where residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As well as superb communication skills that have enabled her to develop a good rapport with residents, their families and staff, she possesses excellent observation skills and is knowledgeable and driven.
