Kippingtons Nursing Home in Sevenoaks provides residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 50 elderly people, including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and long-term care for individuals or couples.

At the home, all staff are highly trained to offer the best care and support to all residents, including their own dementia training, which addresses the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment and an improved dining experience for residents living with dementia and or dysphagia.

Formerly known as Kippington Grange, the house was originally built in 1874 as a grand private family home. Steeped in history and provenance, the house is reputed to have had connections with Thomas Farnaby and Jane Austen. The sensitively converted Victorian property boasts scenic surroundings and is located a short distance from the market town of Sevenoaks. Its proximity to the centre of town makes Kippingtons fully accessible to local shops and amenities. The home is set within landscaped gardens with views which extend for nearly two miles.

My dad was discharged to Kippingtons from hospital with dementia, Parkinson's, cancer among other things. At every stage, the staff in the home were very kind, warm, welcoming and friendly, very caring, responsive and hard-working. Every time we visited, we felt very welcome and could see that it was
a happy place to live and work. Many of the staff have worked there for years. It has a lovely atmosphere, very welcoming, flexible and putting the needs of the residents first. They are very capable to care for the needs of a wide range of people from light needs to very heavy duty needs. The home is very well managed and well lead. The food is excellent. My dad ate much better there than he had for years at home. They do their best to keep the residents stimulated with activities. It's a lovely physical environment, very homely and has a beautiful garden. They were very responsive to the needs of my dad as they arose. I thoroughly recommend the home.

Very welcoming staff, always say hello. Coffee machine and cake in very nice! Dining experience is very good. Chef is very good, food is excellent and nicely presented. Dining room is very welcoming. Menu is available to everyone.
It would be nice to have more shade and places to sit in the garden.

When first walking into the reception at Kippingtons, my children and I had a really good feeling about it. The reception staff are warm and welcoming, offering us refreshments. We walked into the lounge where some residents were playing a game. They seemed relaxed and happy. The care staff and nurses
are so lovely and seem to have lots of patience and understanding. The rooms are lovely. The dining room is bright and relaxed and the food is great. The grounds/garden is pretty. We wanted my husband to be looked after by this kind and caring home.

My friend has been staying at Kippingtons for a few weeks now. She was transferred from hospital after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. The care and staff have been excellent with her. She is always clean and tidy, as are the recreation areas and her bedroom. The food always looks good and nutritious.
The reception staff are always welcoming and pleased to help in any way they can. A very good place for my friend to be cared for.

The staff, carers and nurses are very good, and you can tell that they really care - it's not just a job for them. The nurses, in particular, are excellent with their support and help. My wife is very young to be in a nursing home as she is recovering from a brain tumour. I have personally found this
very hard to deal with, but Kippington have really reached out and helped.

Mum was very poorly when she arrived at Kippington Nursing Home. All the staff were so kind and looked after her so well. I've got nothing but praise for them all. From the moment you walked into reception, you were greeted with a smile and an offer of tea or coffee and a slice of cake. The nursing
staff all cared for my mother so well for the short time that she was a resident there. I can't thank you all enough.

The reception is very welcoming and helpful. I was offered refreshments and cake which was lovely. Mum seems happy and seems to have a rapport with all staff.

The majority of staff are very caring and compassionate and hygiene and care standards within the home are excellent. There have been a couple of occasions where I have had to prompt staff to encourage Mum more. Instead of allowing her to stay in bed for days at a time. I am happy to stay this appears
to have improved recently. Currently, we are having difficulties treating Mum for an infection within the home which she has been suffering from for longer than I think is acceptable. I hope this is resolved soon. (All care homes are overpriced.)

The staff here are very pleasant and kind to my Grandad. They help him when he needs something (even if he is stubborn!). He says the staff talk to him and have a fun chat and like his jokes.
The drinks in reception are good and also the snacks. It's nice and warm in winter!
A comment by my Grandad
is: "The food can be spicy/salty and unpleasant he can't eat it, not nice for the elderly pallet." - PS We love the cat!

The residents' activities have been lacking due to staff sickness. Although, when the activities coordinator is working, he instigates games for the residents. The activities coordinator is a 'one in a million' man. He treats the residents with real respect and humour. There are many great nursing staff
who look after the residents and they inform me of any change with Mum. It takes a team to work in a care home and I feel lucky that Mum is a resident at Kippingtons.

On arrival, good parking, always a space. Welcome at reception is excellent - a friendly greeting and smile. Offered drink, cake and fruit. Downstairs, residents look well cared for and happy. Some watching TV, others playing games or listening to music. Sufficient staff available to care for everyone's
needs. The care, Miss Kippington, makes the place seem like home! My friend's room is a good size, comfortable, light and well-decorated with TV and radio. Very clean and warm. My friend is clean and suitably dressed, comfortable, relaxed and happy to be living at Kippingtons Nursing Home. Staff are kind, friendly and helpful and treat the residents with dignity and respect. A pleasant, secure and safe place to be.

Mum came from being neglected in another home and came here, what a difference! From the first day, we were so happy about the care given. All the staff are so patient and lovely to not only Mum but to family too. The food is very good, the setting is beautiful and the care staff as well as all cleaning

Dad has been in Kippingtons for a couple of months now and we are so happy with every aspect of the care he receives. The staff are completely wonderful, always smiling, helpful and unfailingly caring at all times. It’s a blessing and relief for us to know that our Dad is in such a comforting place.
We are given updates on his condition regularly and made aware of any concerns. The care offered is outstanding and we are so grateful to everyone involved in the provision of it.
