“I have always had a passion for health and social care since I cared for my own Grandfather from a young age. I started my career as a healthcare assistant in a nursing home, proceeded to a senior clinical support worker for the NHS on an elderly care ward, which led me to completing my nursing degree.
During my nursing career, I have experienced working on a frailty ward for the NHS, as a Clinical case manager within the community nursing for those in their own homes and within management in nursing homes, which has involved me working on the floor as a registered nurse at times.
I have personal experience of having parents with dementia and making the decision of placing them in care, which I feel gives me increased compassion and empathy for those tackling this decision themselves.
I feel I am committed to ensuring that our residents receive the best quality care with compassion and respect they deserve. I work closely with the residents, relatives and colleagues to ensure Kippington is a warm and friendly atmosphere to live and work in.
My ethos is that I would not ask someone to do something that I have not or would not be prepared to do myself. Teamwork and good communication is key.”
