I am writing this Review for my wife, who is a resident at Ami Court. She has dementia, and she would not be able to complete the Form herself. However, I have asked her views, and so I do know that she feels happy and comfortable.
For myself, I am immensely grateful for the care my wife receives.
She is safe, and she has an improved quality of life. I am full of admiration for the skill, dedication, patience and kindness of all the staff. I think the care home is managed very well. Thank you.

My friend initially joined another facility in March 2023. Unfortunately due to a fall he was transferred to The Knoll, AMI nursing home. In both care homes he was given the utmost car and attention, physically emotionally and all his lovely meals. The staff were delightful and nothing seemed too much
trouble. It was definitely the nearest to being a home from home and I never had any concerns that everything wasn't as it should be. Thankyou to everyone concerned.

It's a very worrying moment when your loved one goes into care. You fear for how well they will be looked after and whether they will be given the dignity you'd hope for them. My father has now spent a week in AMI Court and I am absolutely delighted to be able to praise the care team to the highest.
They are truly a remarkable group of professionals. The care and compassion they show to the residents is extraordinary. They are energised and motivated and this rubs off on the residents. My father has dementia and I have seen a marked improvement in his cognitive function over the last week. I put this down to the engagement he receives from the staff and fellow residence. A huge thank you to the entire team at AMI Court. You are all magnificent!

After Mum being admitted to Ami Group in the summer she has gone from being near to end-of-life to a happy, content person who is enjoying being where she is. The staff are extremely caring and loving, more like family and the social activities are full on, fun and very interactive with all the resident's
abilities taken into account. The manageress fought very hard to keep Mum where she is settled and thriving and the whole team have contributed to us as a family, knowing Mum is safe, secure and well looked after. Couldn't recommend Ami Group highly enough.

I can't express how amazing the staff as a whole team, have cared for and looked after my dad over the last few months of his life. The staff have also been a great comfort to our family, over this time, which we really appreciate. I was very nervous about Dad going into a home but realised very quickly
that he was safe and so well cared for in The Knoll I didn't need to worry. Heartfelt thanks to every member of staff.

After a long spell in hospital, our father was transferred to Ami Court Nursing Home on Saturday 10th December. We, as a family, cannot thank the manager and her team enough for the care, compassion and kindness shown not only to Dad, but us all, during a very difficult time. Sadly, his stay was short,
but we shall always be so grateful that he spent his remaining days in your care. You are all amazing.

This is my first experience of a care home and have heard a lot of negativity surrounding them. I ring Ami Court daily and the phone is always answered promptly and I am given a current update on my father, all staff have been very friendly and informative. I always feel assured he is being looked after
and comfortable. On visiting, my father is always clean, well moisturised, and dressed well. He has dementia but I can tell he is happy and comfortable here. We feel lucky to have found Ami Court.

After spending 7 weeks in hospital my husband was discharged into the care of Ami Court. From the onset my husband's care which was fully funded by NHS was excellent, he was treated with dignity, respect, and love. This extended to myself and family who were equally treated the same. This home is amazing,
it's a happy home where residents look happy and enjoy some amazing activities. I cannot say how grateful I am that my husband spent the last 3 months of his life at this lovely home.

Mum was discharged from hospital, frail and weak and requiring oxygen on a daily basis. The Ami Group team gave Mum one-to-one nursing, returning Mum to being able to live without oxygen and leave her room for meals, events and visitors. This significantly increased Mum's quality of life. The Ami Group
team were excellent in keeping us informed of Mum's progress and also very effective and efficient at bringing in supporting health professionals as required.

I moved my sister from another nursing home in April 2022. Compared to the other nursing home, The Knoll is far superior in care, activities and liaising with the doctor. I am very happy for my sister. I cannot fault The Knoll. The staff and management are excellent.

When it was time to finally place Dad into someone else's care to help meet his growing complex needs, I was amazed to find such a wonderful little gem for him to be placed into. I cannot convey my heartfelt thanks enough to the team of dedicated carers at this establishment. My husband and I were made
to feel so welcome and it soon became obvious that nothing was too much trouble. I found it very reassuring to gain a feeling of trust and a sense of knowing that when it was time for me to go after visits I could leave some of my worry at the door as I knew Dad was getting all the care that he needed around the clock.

This is an excellent home employing some excellent staff who bond with their residents, showing kindness and treating them with dignity. There are numerous activities to stimulate and interest. During covid, this management team made every effort to keep residents safe which at times meant making difficult
decisions restricting family visits. I would recommend The Knoll and the Ami Group in general.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.820)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.820) out of 10 for Ami Group - The Knoll Unit and Ami Court Unit is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.820 for Ami Group - The Knoll Unit and Ami Court Unit is calculated as follows: ( (246 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 294 Ratings = 4.82
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ami Group - The Knoll Unit and Ami Court Unit is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
