Staplehurst Manor is a beautiful home, which welcomes anyone in need of nursing or residential care, including those living with Parkinson’s. Nurses are on duty at all times for residents in need of nursing care, which is particularly helpful if their condition requires regular medical attention.

They're in a picturesque spot between the High Wield and the Kent Downs, both areas of outstanding natural beauty and surrounded by open fields and woodland, but Staplehurst village is just a mile away. There you’ll find shops, pubs, churches and a library.

The house is beautifully decorated and furnished, with high ceilings and lots of natural light. There are lovely arched windows, parquet floors, stained glass and a sweeping staircase.

There are lots of places to relax here. Residents can have a little pampering in the salon, settle down quietly with a book, or catch up with a loved one over coffee and cake in one of the lounges. Outside, they can enjoy very large grounds, where there’s a courtyard garden with a pretty fishpond and terrace. There’s also a wildlife pond, and peaceful woodland walks for those who are able.

This is a warm and friendly community, not only for residents but for their friends and family, too. The activity coordinator makes sure there’s something for everyone, including those who are less mobile.

They prepare delicious meals which residents can enjoy in their beautiful, spacious dining room or in the comfort of their own room. There are plenty of favourites on their menu, with themed meals for special occasions.

Staplehurst Manor is a wonderful home. My mother has been a resident now for four years and she is extremely happy living there. The staff are friendly, warm and very kind to all the residents and there is a lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

My mother has been looked after extremely well by the majority of staff. The manager is superb and four of the ladies are a credit to the home. I will miss my visits.

My mother participates in all the activitities that she would have refused in the past. he loves the staff member who encourages her. The food and meals are varied daily and all look delicious. All of the carers are lovely and very courteous.

My husband spent three weeks here recovering after a month in the hospital. The care he received was mostly excellent and he was made very welcome. There is a lovely community feel to the place. The food was very good and I was able to join him for lunch whenever I asked (at £15) The grounds are lovely
and sitting outside when the weather allowed was a delight. My husband's room was very small but for just three weeks that wasn't a problem.

I visited my mother in the home last month coming from the US. I really thought my mother would struggle with the transition from living with family to moving into a home. The home has made her very welcome and she is really enjoying being there and participating in the amazing variety of activities
that are arranged by the home. The best part for us is seeing the almost daily photos of my mother and her co-residents really enjoying their days. We live in the States but can see her almost daily! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is top-notch also! Couldn't have asked for a better place for our mum.

This is a lovely ‘home’ to all residents. The carers really take pride in their role and look after the residents with dignity and respect. It’s always clean and fresh with daily activities. Great menus and fresh fruit daily. A lovely place to live in your later years.

I spent two weeks in respite while my family were away. The staff were kind, friendly and efficient and the food was very good - a bit too generous with cream though. The bedroom was small but adequate for a short stay. Overall, a happy experience and activities were good.

My stay has been a pleasant experience helping me recover from heart surgery.
I have been provided a good choice of food at each mealtime. My family and friends have been welcome when visiting. Lots of activities are made available.
My room very light and pleasant with views over the garden. Kept
very clean by staff who were always polite and cheerful. My one negative is; I did not always have a cup/pot of tea requested, this was am, afternoon and pm to different members of staff, a small issue but I do like my tea.

My mum spent her last month here and I cannot thank the staff and home for their kindness, care and respect shown to us as a family and to Mum.
Making a decision as to where Mum should go from hospital was one of the hardest decisions we had to make as a family and so glad we sent Mum here, from the
warm welcome we received on the 1st visit to the funeral day we left when Mum passed.
Food amazing. Activities brilliant, should residents want to join in. Lounge area and garden beautiful and the live singers are an amazing touch to the care and entertainment to residents.
Thank you so much for the love and care you showed us all, especially Mum. It was and will always be appreciated. You are all so hardworking and have hearts of gold.

My mother-in-law has been in Staplehurst Manor for around 3 months now. So far so good, she is very happy there. As well as a nice room and good food, she particularly enjoys the daily activities and very much appreciates the wonderful staff who are extremely kind and caring.

My overall experience has been very positive. I have been touched by the care I have received from the carers, very often young girls who have come from very different backgrounds.
While there are points where I feel could be improved, there is an overall attempt by the staff to care for us and respond
to our needs. In particular, I receive a great deal of help from the daily excersies, which are essential to my regaining mobility. These are well planned and carried out are, indeed, provide an excellent element of interest in daily life.

I will have worked at Staplehurst Manor for 20 years this September. I started as a chef assistant, completed my level 3 apprenticeship and was promoted to chef manager, and I've not looked back since.


I work with the most amazing people who really, genuinely care about what they do and about the residents in our home. No day is the same and it feels like having a huge extended family here.


I live locally with my husband, daughter and our Labrador who we enjoy going on long walks. I am a huge Chelsea FC fan and I even got the chance to watch the 2012 Champions League final in Munich.

Working at Staplehurst Manor has allowed me to gain experience, knowledge and confidence in my work throughout the years. During my time here I've passed my Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship and I'm currently working towards my Level 5 Leadership in Adult Care apprenticeship so I can become a qualified manager.


My favourite thing about working here is how friendly all our teams are, it really feels like a family to anybody that walks through the door.


Outside of work, I have a big passion for animals, and since moving in with my partner I've adopted 4 fur babies in the past 2 years.

Martha Isted

I started as a care assistant in 2017 and in 2018 I also took on the role of Senior Activity Coordinator. I've also got experience as an Engagement Champion, First Aider and Mental Health First Aider.


I take pride in looking after our residents and making sure they are enjoying the entertainment we always have going on in the home. We are always doing activities such as arts and crafts, embroidery, music and dancing.


I was born in Ecuador in South America and speak both English and Spanish. I've lived in Staplehurst for a few years now and enjoy going on walks around the area. I've recently taken up new hobbies of sewing and embroidery.

I've been working for Bupa for just over a year now and have loved every second of it.


I have a master's Degree in Public Health from my University in Ghana and have worked with numerous international hospitals which led me to finding a new career path here with Bupa.


My favourite part of working at Staplehurst Manor is around the residents, they light up my every day and it's a privilege to care for them, as I am passionate about giving back to my community.


In my spare time, I enjoy sewing, reading and dancing.

I started working for Staplehurst Manor 23 years ago as a Carer and became a Senior Care Assistant 5 years ago.


My favourite part of the job is to make the residents happy and see them smiling.


I have a large family who I enjoy spending time with and enjoy travelling with my Husband. Most recently we've bought a motorhome so we can go on adventures across the country with our dog, a cockapoo called Meg.

I am really passionate about healthcare and assisting our residents in their day-to-day lives, and I'm currently working towards being a qualified nurse.


Outside of work, I am married with 2 children and I like to spend my time listening to music and watching sports.

After working as a Nurse in Kuwait for a few years, I decided to make the move with my family to the UK and eventually began working at Staplehurst Manor at the start of 2023.


I really enjoy working as a team and being able to use this to deliver excellent care.


I live with my Husband and our 2 children whom I really enjoy spending time with. I live in Maidstone and enjoy cooking and gardening in my spare time.

I joined Bupa in late 2023. I began working part-time alongside my studies and this is where my passion for caring began.


I really enjoy helping the residents with their daily tasks, getting to know them and working as a team with my colleagues.


In my day-to-day life, I enjoy travelling, watching films playing sports and exploring my local area of Gillingham.

I joined Bupa in January 2023 and in my short time as a care assistant, I've developed a real passion for working with the elderly.


I studied Health and Social care in college as well as doing my First Aid training so it's nice to put my work into practice and help take care of our residents.


I live locally in Staplehurst with my family and my favourite hobby is training in beauticians treatments, specifically lash extensions.

I joined Staplehurst Manor as a carer in the summer of 2023.


I originally come from an engineering background but a relative suggested I apply for a job here and I've not looked back since. My favourite part of the job is interacting with the residents and building up those relationships with their families.


I live locally to Staplehurst and in my spare time enjoy driving cars.

I started working at Staplehurst Manor in September 2023.


I have a background in international commerce and finance and I was also a studying Veterinary. My dream was always to help people so I decided to make the switch to being a healthcare professional where I now have aspirations of becoming a Doctor.


One of my favourite parts of being a carer is making sure our residents are comfortable and being able to make a difference in their lives.


In my own time, I enjoy music, singing and dancing as well as more logical-based hobbies like puzzles and even studying.

I've worked for Bupa for over 25 years now. My current and main job is as a Kitchen Assistant however I've also worked as a Resident Hairdresser, in the Housekeeping and Kitchen departments too.


I love interacting with the residents and learning all about their lives and their past. I've got great work relationships and over the years I've made a lot of friends with my colleagues too.


I like to keep active and do all sorts such as aqua aerobics, gardening and going on walks with my dog. I enjoy spending time with my friends going out for meals and going on holidays too.

I started working as an Assistant Chef for Staplehurst Manor in 2021 however I have previously worked for Bupa part-time whilst studying.


I enjoy the flexibility of my job so that when I am here I'm able to spend my time doing invaluable work giving the residents the highest quality service.


I got married to my wonderful wife last year and have a big passion for cars. I enjoy going to car shows and driving as well as making music and singing.

I joined the team at Staplehurst Manor in 2020.


I had previously worked in Nuffield and had experience working in care homes before I made the switch to Bupa.


I took to Staplehurst Manor because the residents and staff have great relationships and I enjoy being a part of making them happy.


I love spending time with my friends and I'm also married with one son. My favourite hobby is cooking and I even grow my own plants and vegetables.

My previous job roles include carer, senior carer, team leader, deputy unit manager, unit manager and home manager.


My career in the sector began as an Auxiliary Nurse in a hospital. I was in this role for 3 years and left to start a family. When my youngest child turned 9, returned to work as a carer in a Bupa Care Home.


I was one of the first carers to complete their NVQ as they were introduced right as I began my role as a carer, and it gave me the opportunity to travel around other Bupa Care Homes as an NVQ assessor which was a great experience.


I always go home feeling proud that I have provided a service that makes someone feel safe and happier.


When I began to work at Staplehurst Manor, I fell in love with the area and the countryside so I decided to move close to the home where I now live with my family.
