I looked at several homes when looking for respite care for my aunt but was instantly drawn to the warmth and homely feel of Wilmington Manor. She has now been a permanent resident for 8 months and all her many care needs have been met in a kind and respectful way. There is also an endless amount of activities and entertainment on offer to keep residents engaged and happy. The staff at the home are warm, friendly and supportive to the residents and their relatives. I have found the relatives gateway a great way to keep track of how my aunt is doing on the days I am unable to visit. I have always found it easy to communicate with staff and there is always someone to talk to or help with any aspect of my aunt’s care. I would not hesitate to recommend Wilmington Manor to anyone looking for care for their loved one.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Aunt in our care. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make her stay as comfortable as possible.
5* all throughout. Having a friend or relative in a care home is extremely stressful but if I had to pick a care home it would be this one. There is a lot more here than care they generally interact with residents and really do care about them and have fun with them.
Thank you for your kind words, It is always nice to hear from friends feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing them with the best possible care.
They go above an beyond for him an us. Not just the care stuff but everyone at Wilmington, couldn't recommend them enough.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your friend in our care. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
My wife has been a resident of Wilmington Manor for around nine months. In that time our experience has been superb. She is well cared for with any care or medical issues being dealt with immediately. Any such issues are swiftly communicated to me as her husband. She enjoys every meal and we are always impressed with the choice of good food. Welcoming staff are friendly with good interpersonal skills in dealing with residents and their visitors.
With a wide range of activities such as exercise, painting, craft work and fabric work, the residents have the opportunity to rekindle long-forgotten skills. Some activities are conducted by visiting 'experts' who are excellent at considering the needs of their audience. Entertainment is provided a couple of times a month and proves very popular with residents. The gardens are very well kept and when the weather permits form an excellent backdrop for activities. A well-managed home, I cannot recommend Willmington Manor highly enough.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is really nice to hear words such as "superb", "friendly" and "excellent" being used to describe both the staff at the home, as well as the activities and gardens. We are pleased you feel so comfortable having your Wife in our home, and hope to continue providing her with the best possible care.
Excellent care given to my mother. Staff very friendly and respectful. My only regret is that we didn’t find this home sooner. Unfortunately, she was only there for a couple of months before she sadly passed away. My mother was very happy there. The food was very good and lovely views from the dining room into the garden. Highly recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. We are sorry your loss. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one has been cared for and looked after. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your mother received the best possible care.
Mum has been a resident at Wilmington Manor for several years now. Bearing in mind some of the worrying stories you hear on the news about other care homes, during the time she has been there, I have never once had any concerns about her safety. Mum is always treated with dignity and compassion. All of the staff (from all disciplines) are friendly and engaged with the residents and relatives. The recent refurbishment works have really lifted the ambience of the building, and the garden is also well cared for. The introduction of the IT system, which documents the care Mum has received every day is brilliant – I can log in and see exactly how she’s been (a particular benefit when she recently needed to be monitored more regularly than normal). Nowhere is ever going to be the same as home, but if a care home is required, I would certainly recommend Wilmington Manor. Thank you to everybody there.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We are so pleased to hear you have felt so at ease with the care Mum has had throughout the years, and it is especially nice to hear words such as "compassion" and "safe" used to describe our home and the care our staff provide. We will certainly pass your comments on to the manager.
My brother praises the kitchen staff and food. Says it was the best and always cooked well. My experience (sister) was always good and friendly staff.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear your brother is enjoying the food at our home and you feel the staff are taking good care of him too. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
The care given to Mum so far has been excellent, nothing seems to be too much trouble. All the staff seem to support each other to ensure the residents are well looked after. They try to make the activities inclusive for as many as possible and work so hard to do so.
The management team are approachable and listens to ideas and suggestions, implementing those that make improvements. On the odd occasion when a problem does arise and it is brought to their attention, they are very quick to act and put things right.
Well done and thank you to everyone at Wilmington Manor.

I was worried about my mum when she came to the nursing home as she previously lived in her home for 66 years. However, it was not long before I realised she was happy here and that the staff are very caring and look after her extremely well. The care is second to none and I am very happy that my mum is well cared for and her needs are well kept.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your Mum received the best possible care.
My mum has been in Wilmington Manor for over 4 years, she has been well looked after. The staff all know her and her likes and dislikes, A few months ago Mum said she felt safe in there, she always enjoys her food if she does not like what is on offer the kitchen staff will always cook something else she likes. We are very pleased overall.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope she feels like a part of our Wilmington Manor family. We hope to continue providing your mum with the best possible care and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
There is not much more to mention really as she has been there for a few years now beginning with respite care at first.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel, and your mum can feel, at ease in our care. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make her stay as comfortable as possible.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for looking after my dad over the past year. I hope you all realise what a difference you make to not only the residents' lives but to those of their families too. Myself, my family and friends are so grateful for the love, care and friendship you showed to not only my dad but to us too. Thank you all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind words. We are so pleased to hear that you are grateful for the high level of care that we provide to all of our residents and their relatives. Thank you for choosing Wilmington Manor for your stay.
First impressions are friendly and very welcoming and each and every person can not do enough for my mum, they try their hardest to make the experience of being a resident life enrichment, it is important for residents to feel at home, it is really a home from home. Wilmington Manor caters for every single requirement. The food is exceptional, freshly prepared and cooked on a daily basis, the menu is quite extensive and has a lot of options, a very clean environment and lots of natural daylight.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. We are happy to hear that you and your Mum feel like a part of our Wilmington Manor family. Our resident’s health and well-being is our absolute priority so it is lovely that you have experienced this within our care home. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
My mother was discharged directly from hospital to Wilmington Manor as she required 24-hour nursing support that could not be provided at her previous care home. In the last 6 months, she has shown significant improvement due to the ongoing care and support by the always professional staff. Initially confined to bed on medical advice, she is now able to be assisted into a wheeled chair to participate in activities and to dine with other residents. I am entirely happy with every aspect of her care.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear that your Mother has benefitted and improved due to the high levels of care we provide for our residents. Our resident's health and well-being is our absolute priority. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to continue providing your Mother with the best possible care.
We managed to get my dad into Wilmington Manor quickly after we viewed it for him so that he could come out of hospital, but still receive the nursing care he needed as he was no longer able to look after himself and go back home. They paid good attention to him and tried to help get him involved with the activities, shaved him, fed him when he needed it and made sure he was dressed in clean clothes every day. He was bed bound and the situation changed during his stay with various needs of his but they adapted to what he needed with no issues. He didn't get the chance to stay here long as he was very poorly but we know they really did look after him as best they could and were always so patient and kind.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are saddened to hear about your loss. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
My Granddad has been looked after here at Wilmington manor since December 2022 and his health has improved massively with the general care from staff. We as a family did not think he had any life expectancy left as he was very frail and weak, however, he is now a different person, has put on weight looking very well and we as a family see a longer future for him. He has massively changed in the 6 weeks where in the past he has been in and out of the hospital and has now gotten the care he needed from Wilmington Manor Care home The home is in general clean and has a very warm feeling. I feel there could be an improvement with the size of the room. He likes the food in the home and he is just very happy to be here.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It's always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is so well looked for and cared for. We hope to continue providing your Granddad with the best care possible.
I cannot praise the staff enough. Their care towards my father during a very difficult time is second to none. Always available to answer questions, looking out for myself too. Understanding dad's needs and wishes at all times. I'm so pleased we chose this home for dad.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your fathers stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you for choosing Wilmington Manor for your stay.
Overall, we are pleased with Mum's care and facilities, but being self-funded we feel there is not anything special from the home. Having said that, she is well cared for most of the time in hygiene etc and general health which, to us, is the most important factor.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service.
Mum appears to be happy. Always seems well presented and clean. She would like to be in a chair as she gets uncomfortable being in bed, but the family do understand the risks.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make your mum's stay as comfortable as possible.
I am generally happy with Wilmington Manor. I believe it is likely to be one of the best care homes. We have had a couple of issues with missing clothes and the buzzer being left out of reach of the resident, however, the staff are approachable and helpful.
Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you are generally happy with the care provided at Wilmington Manor. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make your loved one's stay as comfortable as possible.
