My brother was treated magnificently at Withens Nursing Home, I cannot thank all the staff for their care enough. I will highly recommend this caring home and the wonderful staff (including domestics and kitchen staff). The food was amazing and the staff were always happy and did everything they could
to help you with anything. When you leave a loved one to the care of home... this is the one to leave them, you will have peace of mind.

Withens Nursing Home is a clean, friendly and special home. Mum has been here for over six months now and she settled in well. The staff go out of their way for Mum, always friendly and polite. Clean and well cared for home.

My husband has Lewy body dementia and many morbidities. He needs help to walk to the toilet in the room and wheelchair to other areas. The management is excellent in every way! He has been on an assessment bed since April. The staff have been so lovely in making him feel welcome. Nothing is too much
trouble. The home is in a lovely location and near to where I live. It is clean to immaculate! I cannot fault the home or the staff. They are incredible in all they do!

My mother has been in Withens Nursing Home for three weeks now following a lengthy stay in hospital. I can't fault what I have seen of the home, it is small and friendly and all of the staff seem super helpful and caring. I have spoken to the manager on a number of occasions and he always has time to
talk and the front office manager is friendly and welcoming. My mum is being very well cared for and seems happy and settled.

My mother-in-law has been at Withens since the beginning of February and I can honestly say I cannot speak highly enough of the home and the staff. It is such a caring and friendly environment, you can tell straight away how much the residents are cared for. There seems to be plenty of activities going
on for the residents. I know Mum is safe and well cared for. Thank you all for all you do, such amazing, caring people.
The only criticism I have is the parking, the home holds countless meets, this results in the car park being full, relatives visiting the home have to park in the community hall car park approximately quarter of a mile away. My thoughts are, why don’t all attending the meetings park in the community car park, freeing off spaces for relatives visiting their loved ones.

My mum has now been at Withens for four months and I and my family are very pleased with the care and attention that she gets. All the staff know her by name and tell me what a lovely lady she is and always ready with a smile. I can tell that Mum likes everybody who cares for her as she is always blowing
kisses to them and thanks them all the time.
Mum is now in a very pleasant room with a massive window which overlooks the back garden so I'm very happy about that.
I find all the staff extremely kind and caring, the Business Manager has been very helpful when I have spoken to her concerning Mum's care.

Mum has only been at Withens for just under two weeks but in that time I have found the staff to be very friendly and caring.
Her room, although smaller than I would have liked, is very nice and clean.
I'm sure Mum will be happy there as she is looked after by the caring staff.
I chose Withens as
all reviews were very positive and I only live nearby.

I came to visit my aunt who has been here for some time now. I was made very welcome and was struck by the friendly atmosphere. The home is small and set in lovely surroundings. After my visit I was able to speak to the manager, she obviously care a lot about my aunt and was happy to talk about her
to me before I left. My aunt's room was lovely, bright, clean and fresh.

This year my mum has had to move to a permanent care home after a fall in December 2020. When I visited Withens, I was impressed by the whole team - all caring, friendly and approachable. Mum arrived two days before her birthday, and despite having to isolate, was still able to celebrate - cook made
her a cake, especially. I am so relieved to have found Mum a home from home, where she is well cared for and safe, and where her family is always made welcome when we visit.

We have been to see Dad each week for while and he is well cared for and made a fuss of. The staff are really good to him and talk to us, nothing is too much trouble. We phone and talk to Dad every day, we see Dad in the garden or conservatory so we haven't seen inside the home or Dad's room.

My mum moved into the Withens in March 2021. Since her admission there, her care has been exceptional and all of her needs have been met. All of the staff go out of their way to reassure us, as a family and nothing is too much trouble. We, as a family, are so happy that we moved her from the original
home that she was in. The care at the Withens has been second to none. Thank you all so much for looking after my mum.

I could not wish for a nicer place for my father to be spending his last days. The staff are so caring and he couldn't wish to be looked after better.

The care provided to Mum during her time living at The Withens has always been excellent but the compassion and love staff have for the residents became even more obvious during the last few weeks of her life. As always, she was treated with dignity and respect, with staff at pains to make sure she
was as comfortable and pain-free as absolutely possible. In these difficult pandemic times, this helped enormously as I knew that Mum was getting the best care at all times. The empathy and care provided to me and the family was also very much appreciated. All this and the fact that I was able to spend precious time with Mum and be with her at the end means more than I can ever say. Thank you all.

The care that has been provided to my mother over the time that she resided in the care home cannot be faulted. The carers are kind, considerate and passionate about the care that is provided to their residents.

My mother was only resident for short while, receiving palliative care. Her room was freshly decorated, extremely clean and with a beautiful view. The building is well maintained and in a lovely location. When we visited to view the home for the first time we immediately felt at ease and reassured.
The senior who showed us round was friendly and had great empathy, we were also impressed that she had been working at the home for many years. As a family we were always welcomed and updated by all staff and the nurse on duty. Like all nursing homes during this awful pandemic there has been some very hard and heart-breaking times. During my mother's passing I experienced acts of individual kindness from several staff members that went above and beyond and was most appreciated.

Plus points:- Caring staff, excellent food. Great kitchen staff. Long term carers great. Minus points:- Dirty, understaffed, too many agency staff. No trips, not enough one to one care. Not enough interaction. Not enough staff. Empty promises and no improvements made. Garden/conservatory not used. No
bath/shower in 5 months.

It was heartening to read the lovely comments about our caring staff & great kitchen team, & we will be sure to pass them on. We have a strong core team of dedicated staff who love looking after our residents that has been further bolstered by some new recruits.
Our dedicated Activities Organiser hosts both group & individual events and some of our trips planned for later in the year include a seaside trip and boat trip. Our local community, especially the schools, are also an integral part of life at Withens.
Withens has a variety of bathroom/shower facilities to cater to the different needs of our residents. In addition, we have a lovely Housekeeping Team who ensure the home is cleaned to a very high standard. Nobody has ever drawn attention to any specific issues with cleanliness and we would, of course, look into them immediately should they be identified to ensure any shortfall was remedied at once. We continually strive to improve on the high-quality care we provide.

I am writing this review with optimism about the future of The Withens. Unfortunately, I have had several issues so far - cleanliness, staff shortages, personal care and the overall running of the home. There now appears to be big changes and improvements - let's hope it does actually get better.
