Overall Experience

My father-in-law has been at Grace Manor Care Centre since last summer. He is very happy at Grace Manor. I visit on average once a week with my wife and mother-in-law. I am very happy with the care that my father-in-law receives, it doesn't matter when we visit he is always dressed smartly and looks well looked after. I find the staff are very attentive to detail and are always there to help with any question we might have. In general, I find the carers at Grace Manor to be always helpful, caring and very sensitive towards not just my father-in-law but all the residents that we come into contact with on our visits. What I also like about Grace Manor is the activities they do on a daily basis with the residents to keep them active in the best way possible.

I am very happy with my sister's care at the home. There is always plenty of activities to do should they wish to do them and the food is good and the room is kept clean.

Staff have been sensitive, kind and caring, not only to my father, who is a resident, but also to me and my mother who also suffers from dementia and found adjusting to Dad not being at home difficult. The staff are friendly and caring.

My nan was at Grace Manor Care Centre for the remaining months that she was with us and I couldn't thank Grace Manor enough for all the support and care they gave to my nan in her last few months. My nan loved all the staff very much, which is warming to know when you were not able to see her as much due to Covid.
I can't thank the team leaders there enough for all the care they gave to my nan as they went above and beyond and I'm so grateful for them, my nan loved them both very much as she used to always talk about them all the time.
I can't fault anything about this nursing home, it has got amazing staff and it's a great home for your loved ones to be in as it's just like one big family and they treat your family members as their own.

On my nan's last day with us the staff couldn't do enough for us and was by our side every step of the way even through the most complicated part that we had to face, they made it very comfortable and reassuring throughout.

My mother had been at Grace Manor for approximately 2 years, during which there had been a pandemic, which the staff managed with great care for all concerned.
Nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble. The food is always good with plenty of choices, entertainment and activities for everyone are first class and family involvement welcomed.
Every member of the team at Grace Manor has great empathy with the residents in their care.

Sadly, my mother is no longer with us, however, the palliative care was second to none, always treated with dignity and kindness. I would recommend this to anyone requiring a safe and sound nursing home.

My father was admitted to Grace Manor Care Centre in June 2022 following a hospital admission. The love and care given to him by the staff was exceptional. And that carried through to my mum, my sisters and me right through to the end when he passed away. Every member of staff we dealt with were loving and caring and superb in their role. I cannot recommend Grace Manor more highly if I tried.

During this difficult time, the staff have been amazing. Our mum has been well cared for and given all the love and care she needs. She loves doing the activities but is not able to do what she used to do. It is great that they are able to go on days out now, our mum really enjoys that. Our mum's needs are considered carefully in all aspects, and the staff are very good and considerate with her. She is encouraged to eat and drink when she doesn't perhaps feel like it.

I have been here since April. At first, I was very wary, but I was soon put at ease. I am getting used to the routine. I find most of the carers very helpful. I feel when the weather is warm, the service users should be encouraged to sit outside and get some vitamin D, which is stored in the body from the sun or given vitamin D tablets. I feel there is a lack of facilities regarding hairdressers and chiropodists.

My father was a resident here.
All staff devoted brilliant, all services, care, food, different activities. 100% recommend.
Great surroundings, gardens there is a tranquil place you can sit and pray, which I did every day when the sun was shining.

Really felt relaxed before driving home.

My mum was admitted to Grace Manor from hospital where she had been receiving care for about 6 weeks. She received end-of-life care at Grace Manor for a 6 month period. The day-to-day staff were extremely kind and patient with her and the nursing staff were also very caring, taking time to inform me of her situation. The nurses and management were very good at cutting through the inevitable bureaucracy surrounding my mum's stay and I felt she was very well cared for throughout her stay. The home is in a peaceful location, was always clean and well presented. Though my mum was somewhat unreachable to the family (because of her deteriorating mental state), she had a good rapport with the carers. We are all very grateful to them and all the staff at Grace Manor for their dedicated, cheerful and personalised attitude to their work.

Very patient staff when my husband was sometimes grumpy and difficult. The home always smelt clean and our visits were facilitated extremely well especially throughout the difficult and uncertain times of Covid and ever-changing restrictions. Measures to keep residents, staff and visitors safe were put in place and followed at all times. The activity team greeted us at the door and carried out PPE duties like experts. The care staff were very thorough in their care and dignity of my husband. Management was always available and ready to listen to any concerns if there are any.

Mum's room is lovely and spacious. The home is clean and the staff are friendly and caring. The food is excellent, with something different on the menu every day. The care given to my mum is really heartwarming and the staff always take her needs into account, whilst preserving her dignity. I am pleased my mum is being looked after so well here. Staff have bent over backwards to ensure we can still safely visit Mum in these trying times.

Mum was admitted unexpectedly to Grace Manor. From the moment she was admitted she was treated with the best care and respect. Mum is always clean and comfortable and the staff are hard-working, polite and professional. It's a comfort to know she is in such safe and kind hands, thank you

My mother has been in Grace Manor for 5 weeks now and I have seen a complete change in her. She is so happy now having people around her for 24 hours and it has taken the worry away from me. She joins in all the activities and she is putting on weight. It is so lovely to see mum so happy now, instead of so depressed and always crying.

The care my sister-in-law receives is absolutely first class. She is kept perfectly clean and carers give her cuddles and sing to her. She is not able to communicate her needs but the carers understand her. She has been at Grace Manor for over five years and I couldn't be happier. It's a lovely place and the staff are wonderful.

Staff are caring and fun and get to know their residents, and their individual needs well. Mum always seems calm and it is heartwarming to hear of the activities she is involved in. The health and safety of residents have been exceptionally well cared for during the pandemic. I miss mum terribly but know that she couldn't be in a better place.

All my life I wanted to care for older adults and make a difference in their life. Becoming a home manager was the ultimate way to do so. However, being a home manager is so much more than looking after older adults and I realised that looking after your staff is paramount to delivering good quality care. Creating an open and honest culture with staff, recognising their achievements and actively engaging, supporting staff and valuing staff is paramount. If you have a happy and content staff team, you have happy residents. I believe a manager should be a great role model who is passionate, hands-on and motivated with a great sense of humour.

Grace Manor Care Centre is our older adult’s home, we are proud of our warm and welcoming environment, and we will always be here for a chat. It is important that both our older residents and their families are included and feel at home. It is always the highlight of my role to see these residents smiling and laughing again.
