Welcome to Grace Manor Care Centre in Gillingham, Kent. Situated on stunning grounds, the classic Manor property offers 24-hour care for those over the age of 55. They are blessed with a long-serving team of nursing and support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. They offer long-term, respite and post-operative care and particularly cater for those living with Dementia.

The well-kept care centre comprises 57 bedrooms, 12 of which make up the Dementia unit. A portion of the bedrooms is equipped with an en-suite W.C. and a hand basin. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While the bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the home's cosy sitting rooms and dining room offers residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At Grace Manor, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of the activities take place within the home environment and include art, handicrafts, visiting entertainers, quiz nights as well as garden parties and summer barbecues. The team empowers individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite sports. All are encouraged and available. Residents enjoy shopping days as well as seasonal trips to the seaside.

Grace Manor's professional catering team delivers nutritionally balanced meals that are appealing to its residents. The home's professional food suppliers specialise in delivering high-quality food designed specifically for the healthcare sector.

My mother has been in this home for nearly 2-years. She has thrived due to the outstanding care she has received from all the staff. From the manager to the wonderful care staff to the receptionist to the cleaning staff to the chefs in the kitchen, nothing has been too much trouble for my mother. They
have shown true dedication to the care of their residents, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. They take the time to phone me via video messaging to allow me to see my mother and to let me know that she is okay during this worrying time, which I greatly appreciate.

Grace Manor is a well-run nursing home with dedicated and caring staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone who needs to put a loved one in care. The staff have particularly shone through this awful pandemic. They have continued caring for residents even though at risk themselves,
bearing in mind many hadn't been tested. A huge thank you to Grace Manor.
The carers work long hours which many of us haven't experienced but always have a smile and kind words for residents, the result is a happy home.

My dad has been at Grace Manor for 18months. He has settled well and every time I visit seems to have a good rapport with the carers. You can see he is happy, which makes it easier when you trust your loved ones into the care of others. It’s not always been easy but they have helped us adjust to the
situation. The carers are always happy, ready to help and listen. The hardest thing is not being able to see or speak to dad especially during this period of lockdown. It’s not always easy to get through on the phone. Having said that I have on several occasions been sent videos of my dad, just saying hi and of things he’s doing. Which puts a smile on my face. I thank you for that!

My father was admitted to hospital on 30/06/2019, and when it was clear he was terminally ill. He moved to Grace Manor Care Centre on 14/08/2019 and passed away on 19/09/2019.
During the time he was at Grace Manor Care Centre, I cannot find one single aspect of his care that could be criticised. The
staff were simply magnificent.
The care and friendship he received in his final days were simply outstanding. It was personal and tailored to his needs both in nursing and mentally (no dementia -fully aware at 90). Some staff represented Grace Manor Care Centre at his funeral and were welcomed back to the family home.

Attended one Sunday and found my husband in his room and was told he would not wake up. When seeing him accompanied by my son, we found him half in and out of the bed ourselves, very uncomfortable. Was told by the nurse that she could not move him but eventually, we managed to get him straight in the
bed and were able to get him to drink and take some food. This was at 4pm and he had been there all day. We complained to the manager and he is reviewing it. Things have improved since then but we are still waiting for a report.

Generally, I feel that my dad is cared for well. However, there are occasions when it seems that the staff are reactive to our family's request/concerns rather than being pro-active. For example, if Dad complains of sore mouth/bottom, the staff will check if we say something. I can't believe Dad is
not complaining of these issues, only to us. Also, why are these not being seen when staff are attending to his personal care. They see him much more than I do, this is disappointing. Surely staff should be aware of these potential issues and look out for them. As with any organisations, some staff are better than others.

My father has lived here for four years now and he has always been looked after well. He is happy and settled. All the staff, from the manager down, are caring and friendly. I am really glad that I managed to get him a place here.

Always treated with loving kindness and respect.
Such are the high standards of this 'home'.
I was able to find peace of mind for having broken a promise to never placing mum into care.

After 6 months of struggle to find the right care home for my brother who has aggression problems, I found Grace Manor. Since doing do, my brother has calmed down and a great deal, he still has bad days but they manage him well always going the further mile. I can you have my life back, their care,
food, and all the things they do for the residents to make the home their home as much as they can. The best home, I could not wish for more.

The care that my father receives at Grace Manor is - in my hand on heart opinion - outstanding.
My dad became a resident at the end of March following a very traumatic 13-week stay in a hospital.
He arrived at Grace Manor confused, upset and unsettled. His stay in hospital had taken this man to
the edge of end of life, and if I am honest, none of us knew what to expect.
ALL of the staff at Grace Manor have welcomed my dad with open arms. He is treated with huge respect, dignity and understanding. Like most daughters, my dad is 'my rock', and all I could ever want for him would be the best. This is what Grace Manor gives to him.
I am kept regularly informed on how my dad is, if he has been unwell or if he requires anything. Grace Manor have an open door policy and I am able to visit my dad whenever I would like, and always to a lovely welcome from the staff. The food is delicious, and I regularly enjoy a meal with my dad. Thank you, Grace Manor, from the bottom my of heart.

After it became apparent that mum could not manage to live in her own home and we were unable to provide the support she needed. It was such a relief fo find Grace Manor a care home where we were happy for mum to stay in a safe, friendly and caring environment that can provide all the help she needs.

Grace Manor exceeds above and beyond my expectations of the quality of care I had expected when my dad was no longer able to look after himself in his own home. He even praises it himself which, as a resident, is extremely lovely to hear. I have never visited when any of the carers are unhappy and nothing
seems to be too much trouble for any residents or their relatives.
I give it a hundred per cent for everything.

All my life I wanted to care for older adults and make a difference in their life. Becoming a home manager was the ultimate way to do so. However, being a home manager is so much more than looking after older adults and I realised that looking after your staff is paramount to delivering good quality care. Creating an open and honest culture with staff, recognising their achievements and actively engaging, supporting staff and valuing staff is paramount. If you have a happy and content staff team, you have happy residents. I believe a manager should be a great role model who is passionate, hands-on and motivated with a great sense of humour.


Grace Manor Care Centre is our older adult’s home, we are proud of our warm and welcoming environment, and we will always be here for a chat. It is important that both our older residents and their families are included and feel at home. It is always the highlight of my role to see these residents smiling and laughing again.
