I was at the Albany Car eHome as an NHS/JR patient (bed-hub).
I found the staff very caring and generous with their time. Whenever I needed help in a short time, a carer would come.
If I had a problem, I would talk to management and they will go and sort the problem.
Friends that used to come to
see me, they found the "atmosphere" friendly.
I would have liked a more comfortable armchair.

My mother was sent here from the hospital and so was in a hub bed, then got a permanent place, but by this time the family had been so disappointed with her care that we removed her. In all, she was there for 6 weeks. Six weeks too long. The best feature about the Albany is the gardens.

I have nothing but praise for The Albany Care Home's treatment of my mother during her stay. My sisters and I agree that she progressed significantly during her time there. The entertainments provided were excellent and she often took part but felt no pressure to do so. The entire staff were kind and
efficient. At all times we felt that she was safe and happy in their care.

Mum was staying at Albany Care Home for a while until her care package was being sorted out. During her time she spent here the care and the food we have been excellent, nothing is ever too much trouble. There's always activities going on and we can visit for as long as we like and are always made to
feel welcome.
The only thing I could say is that maybe the room could be cleaned and hoovered more often.

My stay at The Albany was most enjoyable. I will always remember everyone with fondness. I have a really nice place here, a very nice room. I am wearing my yellow cardigan so I watch the daffodils. I don't like the snow. Best wishes to everyone.

My father was transferred to The Albany from the John Radcliffe hospital to one of their 'hub' beds as an interim stay before carers were in place at home. My mother, sister and I were so impressed with the wonderful surroundings, cleanliness and decor there. The food is great and very varied. But
above all, the nursing and care staff were so lovely, caring and gentle with my father. They have a such a tough job but they were always smiling and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. My father felt safe and very well looked after for the duration of his stay (2.5 months). Although not close to home for us, we were glad that my father was at The Albany - knowing he was in great hands at The Albany.

My mother was transferred to the Albany in Headington for rehabilitation after a prolonged stay in two hospitals. The staff are very caring. All diets are catered for and food presented to look appealing, as well as being excellent. The home looks spotless and smells really fresh. The dining area looks
like a very upmarket hotel, 2 conservatories and plenty of seating areas inside and out in the garden. Parking for visitors a bonus.

Was sent from hospital, Oxford. On my experience, lots of things could be better i.e. Time it takes to answer bell. Told if wearing pad, use it and would be cleaned when they could find the time.

Albany Care Home has a lovely atmosphere, warm and caring. The staff can't do enough to help and are very welcoming to residents and visitors.
The standard of cleanliness is extremely high with none of the usual smells that can be often prevalent in care homes.

My aunt had a very unsettled 8 months in the hospital, then sent home for a very short period, and back in the hospital after another fall. Now she is in The Albany where she awaits package of care, all staff so very friendly, helpful, nothing is too much trouble and very well run. If you have a query,
it is dealt with and answered quickly, there are always activities going on, sing songs, quiz, games, as for the food she loves it.


She has flourished since going into The Albany. Everywhere is always kept very clean, there is a hairdresser who goes in every week, there are quiet areas if you want to go and have a bit of privacy and a lovely bright conservatory. Tea/coffee is always on offer whatever the time of day. My aunt loves it so much she would love to stay, when I left last week, all the staff and residents were joining in to put up the Christmas tree and decorations, everyone was involved.
Am looking forward to the festive fun on offer for them this week.

My mother has only been a resident for three weeks but I am happy with the care she is receiving. Her room is comfortable and clean. My mother looks very well and is cared for. The staff are patient and caring.

Mum has been in The Albany Care Home since July 2016 and the home has given us this quality time with her.
Amazed by the care she has received, and experienced times she hasn't done for years.
However recently several members of staff have left for various different reasons.
The concerning matter
for us relatives is that mum gets used to staff and they to her - so this can be detrimental to her well-being.

We have found the home staff very good.
The food is well-presented and varied.
My mother is clean, happy and not hungry.
She, as all, have a good varied entertainment to help keep their minds active.
My only concern is a urine smell as you enter the first-floor corridor.

Under new management, The Albany is now a much better run and happier ship than it was a year ago and as a result, there is a lower turnover of carers. However, they work long, hard hours and while they are always diligent, concerned and kind, they rarely have time to spend with the residents, especially
those who are bed bound, as the scale of their job is so demanding. The nurses are highly qualified, experienced, friendly and excellent at managing the health and welfare of their patient's complex needs and react fast to emergencies. The cleanliness of the rooms is good. For those residents who want to participate, there is a wide range of activities run by an outstanding activities manager. The dining toom facilities have recently been refurbished and are always clean and well-maintained. The quality of the food is disappointingly institutional. There is a constant supply of beverages for residents and visitors who are always made to feel welcome. There is a good relationship with a local GP who makes visits to those in need. The manager has a very good understanding of the capacity of the home and the capabilities of the staff and is always willing to listen.

Polite reception from a nurse who let me in and knew who I was which is great that visitors are remembered.
Greeted again in name by another member of staff!
Also advised where me grandfather was rather than looking for him.
Always updated on how my grandfather has been getting on by various members
of the team.
I always find my grandfather's room and communal areas to be very clean and well presented.
