Albany Care Home

It was a very sad time when the decision was made for my Grampy to go into a care home. All staff made me, my family and most importantly my Grampy feel a part of the family. He was looked after, loved and cared for, just as we would do. Thank you to ALL staff at the Albany for looking after him.

My mother was placed in an NHS bed. She seemed content and appeared to enjoy being in the lounge with the other residents. The activities coordinator is lovely and tried to involve all residents. The other carers were friendly and kind, although some were reserved and weren't as chatty. Activities and entertainment over the Christmas period were excellent.

Excellent care and attention for my mother's needs. My mind at ease while she was at Albany Care Home convalescence after a fall at home.

My brother was with Albany for a very short time. Sadly he passed away in the home. My family and I cannot thank the staff enough for all they did for him. From the nurses to care staff and management. A member of staff on reception was so kind to us and showed full compassion and understanding when my brother passed away. God bless all the staff, you were wonderful.

My husband was always hungry and often thirsty. He's now in a much better home with a bit more energy and more talkative now he's eating properly.

I find that Albany Care Home is very suitable for my needs. The staff are kind, caring and helpful and supportive.

The manager was so helpful and kind to Dad and the carers and all the staff were so good to Dad. When we asked him if he wanted to go home, he said no, he wanted to stay at the Albany for the rest of his life, which he did. So thank you very much for everything you did for him.

The carers and staff were very kind and understanding and made me feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was great.

After 3 weeks at the hospital following an operation for a burst aorta, my husband needed a place he could be safely looked after before coming home. He spent 5 days at the Albany Care Home in a nice private room. He got excellent care. When it was his birthday, they brought him a cake and sang Happy Birthday to him. But he would not have liked the communal rooms.

Clean, comfortable.home from home. Friendly approachable staff.

I would have liked a more comfortable armchair.

My mother was sent here from the hospital and so was in a hub bed, then got a permanent place, but by this time the family had been so disappointed with her care that we removed her. In all, she was there for 6 weeks. Six weeks too long. The best feature about the Albany is the gardens.

The home was very clean throughout the day.

You have got very good staff who are very helpful and friendly.

I have nothing but praise for The Albany Care Home's treatment of my mother during her stay. My sisters and I agree that she progressed significantly during her time there. The entertainments provided were excellent and she often took part but felt no pressure to do so. The entire staff were kind and efficient. At all times we felt that she was safe and happy in their care.

The only thing I could say is that maybe the room could be cleaned and hoovered more often.

My stay at The Albany was most enjoyable. I will always remember everyone with fondness. I have a really nice place here, a very nice room. I am wearing my yellow cardigan so I watch the daffodils. I don't like the snow. Best wishes to everyone.

My father was transferred to The Albany from the John Radcliffe hospital to one of their 'hub' beds as an interim stay before carers were in place at home. My mother, sister and I were so impressed with the wonderful surroundings, cleanliness and decor there. The food is great and very varied. But above all, the nursing and care staff were so lovely, caring and gentle with my father. They have a such a tough job but they were always smiling and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. My father felt safe and very well looked after for the duration of his stay (2.5 months). Although not close to home for us, we were glad that my father was at The Albany - knowing he was in great hands at The Albany.

My mother was transferred to the Albany in Headington for rehabilitation after a prolonged stay in two hospitals. The staff are very caring. All diets are catered for and food presented to look appealing, as well as being excellent. The home looks spotless and smells really fresh. The dining area looks like a very upmarket hotel, 2 conservatories and plenty of seating areas inside and out in the garden. Parking for visitors a bonus.

Was sent from hospital, Oxford. On my experience, lots of things could be better i.e. Time it takes to answer bell. Told if wearing pad, use it and would be cleaned when they could find the time.
