Banbury Heights is a family-run nursing home that has been providing high-quality, person-centred care to the residents of Banbury since 2003.

At Banbury Heights, each resident has a tailored care plan developed by the nursing home’s team, together with the resident and their family.

Everybody’s needs are different so their care should be too – recognising this at all times is the key to their ethos of work at Banbury Heights.

With fantastic shared spaces, including a light, airy conservatory, residents can spend time with visiting friends and family members in comfort, and private bedrooms offer peace and quiet to read the paper or a good book.

Ideally located just outside the town centre, Banbury Heights Nursing Home is a fantastic place that always puts residents’ needs first and takes pride in the expert care provided.

My impression is that the home is a little cramped for space. I hope I am wrong but feel that there is scope for more activities for the residents. The home always appears clean, well staffed and well kept. The staff are friendly and welcoming and that is the main thing!

I love being here. I will miss this care home. I have been here for 4 weeks. If I had a choice I would come back here.
I am moving to a house. I will miss the residents, carers and the lady is a very good cook. I will give Banbury Heights 100 out of 100.

My father was moved to Banbury Heights care home on 6th August 2018. Sadly he passed away on 12th September 2018. This is an excellent care home. The staff were caring and made his last weeks comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful to me in his last couple of days. This is an excellent setting
for a home from home placement. Just wish I had moved him there years ago. He would have loved the home and the staff. My father had advanced dementia.

After a shaky couple of hours on admission, due to a mix up in hospital, the nursing staff were extremely reassuring and demonstrated real comfort towards myself and my mum.
She has had exemplary care since her arrival and after three weeks is still really happy with the way she has been cared for.
The
dignity and kindness shown is obvious from my daily visits. Although she is looking forward to returning home, I think she will be sad to leave!

The staff have been wonderful to my mother, very kind and caring. They were very considerate, compassionate and sympathetic to all of us during her last few days.
Reply from Charles Taylor, Manager at Banbury Heights Nursing HomeDear Mrs C,

Thank you for your feedback and we are extremely glad that you found the staff caring and attentive. We have noticed that you listed the rooms as poor in your review and we will look to redecorate the room that your mother was in to improve this.

My mother spent the last two months of her life at Banbury Heights Nursing Home. The whole staff were professional, compassionate, patient and kind. They took great care of my mum and provided exactly the right level of care. Their communication with me was excellent. I would unequivocally recommend
Banbury Heights Nursing Home to any family in the same situation.

Dad spent a couple of weeks at Banbury Heights and from what I saw of the home it was truly exceptional. Staff were excellent, food was very good and the place itself was exceptional. Given the horror stories one hears about residential homes, this place was without doubt exceptional.

Very knowledgeable Nursing staff that lead the overall staff team well. Ensuring that all staff are attentive and respectful to residents. Personally, it was nice for my Dad to have male staff on duty too. The home also has a brilliant 'activities' team, organising some truly memorable days and events
that the whole family are invited to.
THANK YOU for all you did!!

Throughout a bright clean colourful environment love and care displayed by smiling faces, caring, helpful and uplifted attitude. Colourful mobiles hang from the ceilings fresh young flowers abundantly arranged in halls, rooms, nooks and crannies beautiful! Safe comfortable homely relaxation spaces both
in and outdoors. The walls display wonderful memory lane photographs of residents wedding, activities etc.
Group and individual outings arranged to match individual residents interests. I have seen many homes this one is outstanding. This is where I would like to be.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.350)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.350) out of 10 for Banbury Heights Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.425 for Banbury Heights Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (157 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (15 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 226 Ratings = 4.425
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Banbury Heights Nursing Home is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 registered maximum number of service users is 11.8, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
