Esmere Gardens admitted my husband at short notice when he suffered a loss of mobility following an infection. He received a very warm welcome from confident and capable staff who helped him to settle at what was a difficult time. The task of trying to regain mobility has been challenging but physiotherapy,
nursing staff and carers have all played their part in helping and motivating him. He is treated with unfailing courtesy and attention to his personal well-being. He is helped to join in the excellent daily programme of activities with other residents, when he can, and enjoys the communal dining experience. The food is varied, well-prepared and presented; there is ample choice and individual needs are catered for. I particularly value the presence of 24-hour nursing care, the unobtrusive monitoring of my husband's health and the access to medical advice when needed.

Now Ray has spent 12 months in Shipston Lodge I am happy & confident he is in the best possible place for his health needs. Now with 1 to 1 care he is no longer having numerous falls & accidents allowing him to have better rest in a bed whilst being watchful. I myself have peace of mind finally after
caring for him at home for the last few years. I have total confidence in the staff & methods at Shipston Lodge along with all the facilities & food & drink provided to residents. Thank you to all involved in Roy's car & safety.

Dad has now been at Shipston Lodge for a year. Prior to funding being actioned in Nov 2025 Dad was having numerous falls & incidents but now with one-to-one care he is finally safe & sound & well cared for 24/7. Absolutely lovely home & facilities with a fantastic team of staff & management. Mum & myself
are now content Dad is in the best place available for his needs. We cannot lose one-to-one care as it would be catastrophic in my dad's decline.

I speak for myself, my two sisters and brother. We live about one hours drive away from the nursing home, but know that this is the best place for mum. Mum is content in the nursing home. The staff are amazing, caring and highly trained to deal with our mum's dementia. Mum has made friends with other
residents. She loves the food. Mum never wanted to go into a home, but it quite happy to be at Julie Richardson. The nursing care is excellent. Communication from staff on mum's needs and care is immediate. We as a family know that mum is loved and cared for and could not wish for anymore in her circumstances. Thank you.
Reply from Bernadette Mbafond, Home Manager at The Julie Richardson Nursing HomeThank you so much for kind feedback and for taking your precious time to share your experience on carehome.co.uk. Rest reassure I will pass this feedback to the team who work hard to meet the needs of the residents. Mum spent 4 very happy years at Shipston Lodge. She was 97 when she arrived and 101 when she peacefully and naturally passed away in her room. The care she received was exemplary. Mum was shown dignity, respect and love. Every member of the team deserves praise for the lovely way they always treated
mum. Mum was very deaf and not mobile but was always included in the day to day activities of the care home and staff went out of their way to communicate effectively with her. I cannot fault Shipston Lodge.
Reply from Gabriella Russell, Manager at Shipston Lodge Nursing HomeThank you so much for your beautiful words and for sharing your mother's journey with us at Shipston Lodge. It was truly a privilege to care for her over the past four years and we all feel honoured to have been part of her life.
Your kind recognition of the team's efforts means a great deal to us. Ensuring each resident is treated with dignity, respect and genuine affection is at the heart of everything we do and it's incredibly touching to know that this was felt so deeply by your family.
We will remember your mum fondly and miss her very much. On behalf of everyone here, please accept our heartfelt condolences and gratitude for entrusting us with her care. Thank you.

Since my dad has been in the nursing home, we have seen nothing but kind, compassionate and caring staff. On a day when we was able to ask us questions, he said he was going to be happy here. I have found the management and the staff of Banbury Heights so helpful and refreshingly human.
All of the staff really seem to put authentic care into their work. The food is certainly to my mum's liking and the staff are finding their ways around her quirks and in doing so, making life easier for
all involved.
Win, win, the place may not look the best, but I'd take the human aspect over fake florals any day.
Thanks to you all.

My mum received end of life care at Banbury Heights Nursing Home. The way she was cared for couldn't have been better and she was kept comfortable throughout. I can also say the same for how we as family were treated. As we stayed day and night we were shown extraordinary care as if from family with
endless cups of tea, meals and biscuits.
The manager and lead nurse deserve a special mention as do the two carers who worked Tuesday to Thursday nights who sat with me during the night and listened as I talked about mum. They were wonderful. All of the staff were great though and there were too many to give a special mention.
I want to add that the atmosphere both day and night was lovely. Although the day was somewhat noisy at times, at night it was peaceful and calm. The residents were treated with the same dignity and respect in the early hours. An especially big thank you to the night staff who looked after mum and I.

Mum was sent here a few weeks ago when she was discharged from Hospital. I can honestly say the care she received was exemplary. From managers to cleaners everybody cares.
If I was to end up in a nursing home for any reason I'd want to be sent here.
The food was excellent, over the last couple of
weeks the family spent a lot of time with mum and were always offered meals.
I know a lot of people grumble about nursing home charges but for me the quality of care was above and beyond what was paid.

I wanted to say how I see my uncle unwinding from the stresses and tensions he incurred in previous care home. I believe you have saved his life and brought him peace. The love sheared and the care given by staff is so effective in the health and well being of the residents. I am grateful that your
attention to detail and fast response has kept my uncle safe, with falls having been of great concern you have supported my uncle in his state. Outdoor activities - minibus to train station for tea and cake. Group activities, feeding the ducks.
