I have been treated with the utmost kindness and professionalism. My rehabilitation here following major surgery combined with further hospital stay due to a complication, has made my return home possible.

My brother is a resident of Shipston Lodge. He recently celebrated his 85th birthday. During the afternoon we were given an upstairs room, beautifully set out for a tea party, which included a birthday cake and fruit. John's choice baked by the baker at The Lodge. John has settled in really well. Saying he has his independence but is well looked after.

Our family's experience of Shipston Lodge has been 'perfect' from day one - our late father resided here for 10 months prior to his death and we were absolutely delighted to have found somewhere that looked after him so well... when our very independant mother realised she needed additional support she asked if she could come here - we received a huge warm welcome from everyone, Mum felt comfortable, they went at her pace / preference and provided exceptional care. The entire team are all very kind, caring and genuinely interested in their residents and family members. Which is just fabulous to see. Thank you.

I am happy with all the care given to my wife at Julie Richardson. Especially when I call to ask about my wife. Everyone is so helpful. Staff are wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better place for my wife. I recommend Julie Richardson to people who are looking for placement for their loved ones.

This is an excellent Care Home. The staff are a delight and are caring at all times. They all muck in and do whatever is necessary. There is such a good spirit at Esmere. My husband as he was dying received wonderful medical care as well as loving care. I cannot thank them enough

The staff are excellent in every department. Communication is great, I always feel that I am fully up to date with Dad's health, happiness and care needs. As a family, we are always warmly welcomed and feel that we can visit whenever we like. Dad isn't a 'joiner in', but if he was there are lots of activities and trips that he could be enjoying!! An excellent team and lovely setting.

My wife could not be better cared for. She is kept spotlessly clean and comfortable. She is in no discomfort. The staff are all so attentive.

I have been at Esmere Gardens for a week's respite care and have had a wonderful, relaxing week. Thank you so much. Delicious food. Your standard of care and kindness by your excellent staff and nurses have been just what I wanted and I will definitely come again.

My dad recently passed away at the home and our family can't thank the staff enough for the kind treatment, dignity and compassion at a very difficult time in his life. The staff made us feel very welcome every time we visited. We couldn't have wished for a better place for our dear dad to be.

The care and support offered to my mum has been fantastic. Mum has had to be placed out of county but the travel is worth it just to know she is well cared for. The atmosphere is positive staff are engaging and attentive. You can tell that things are well organised and staff are knowledgeable. I would be happy for mum to stay here after her assessment period.

I am very pleased with the level of care my husband is receiving. The staff are very caring and attentive. He seems well looked after. I am kept up to date with Stuart's health needs by the very competent nursing staff. When I visit I am always warmly welcomed. The carers are cheerful and easy to talk to. No complaints.

Dad came to Julie Richardson as a DTA from out of country. When his initial 6 weeks came to an end we decided, as a family, to leave dad in the home due to the fantastic care he was recieving. All of the staff are kind, compassionate and genuinely care for all of the residents. We as a family have no worries when we are not with dad as we know he is well looked after. Dad is always happy when we are not here and has built good relationships with all of the staff.

I came here July 1st never looked back. I suffer MND the carers are my angels manager always there for you. They are keeping me alive. Its just a must for me, I love it here.

Esmere Gardens admitted my husband at short notice when he suffered a loss of mobility following an infection. He received a very warm welcome from confident and capable staff who helped him to settle at what was a difficult time. The task of trying to regain mobility has been challenging but physiotherapy, nursing staff and carers have all played their part in helping and motivating him. He is treated with unfailing courtesy and attention to his personal well-being. He is helped to join in the excellent daily programme of activities with other residents, when he can, and enjoys the communal dining experience. The food is varied, well-prepared and presented; there is ample choice and individual needs are catered for. I particularly value the presence of 24-hour nursing care, the unobtrusive monitoring of my husband's health and the access to medical advice when needed.

Found the home very welcoming. Staff very attentive and friendly. Nothing is too much bother. Always smiling and very helpful. Very pleasing experience all round, could not fault. Excellent, highly recommend.

Dad has now been at Shipston Lodge for a year. Prior to funding being actioned in Nov 2025 Dad was having numerous falls & incidents but now with one-to-one care he is finally safe & sound & well cared for 24/7. Absolutely lovely home & facilities with a fantastic team of staff & management. Mum & myself are now content Dad is in the best place available for his needs. We cannot lose one-to-one care as it would be catastrophic in my dad's decline.
