Mum has lived at Brookfield Care Home since February 2023. They supported us before she moved in with a tour, and answering loads of questions. On the day of moving in, the handyman was extremely helpful as were all the staff. The staff are exceptional - nothing is too much trouble, and the consistency
of care and attention is wonderful. Mum took a few weeks to settle but is contented and happy, and well looked after. On noticing that she was losing a bit of weight after moving in (normal apparently), they monitored it weekly until she started to put it back on. A few pieces of clothing have gone missing and of course there are always a few niggles, but overall I can't fault the place. We initially were disappointed that the rooms were not fully ensuite (with showers), but actually it means we are now sure Mum is having a shower because someone has to take her! Thank you Brookfield for taking such good care of our mum, which means we know she is safe and happy.

As a volunteer, I see kindness and good humour demonstrated by carers and nursing staff. The creative activities facilitated by the activities team are imaginative and inclusive. My involvement is mainly with the regular Thursday church service and I see residents who appreciate this spiritual input
and in particular respond to the opportunity to sing hymns and worship together. This is an aspect of Brookfield which I feel is particularly important.

Mum is very content at Brookfield Care Home. She's well looked after, the food is good and the activities are amazing. She has a nice room and there are several communal areas she can spend time in. She's made friends there. She particularly likes the Methodist background, the regular visits from the
chaplain and the weekly service. For me and my sisters, it is wonderful to know she is safe and looked after by caring, kind and attentive staff. The building is not perfect but that matters much less than the quality of care, which is excellent. The staff are very attentive to small feedback points that I've brought up and are always happy to answer my questions. We are very very happy that we chose Brookfield.

First impressions are good but need more attention to clothes going missing every week, I asked about his clothes today, as he hasn't got a lot of clothes in his wardrobe or drawers. Some of the staff are really great. Since covid, I've not had a chance to see around the place. Would be nice to be able
to discuss things a lot more. I know staff is short but at times, it would help to be involved.

Mum is kept clean, her belongings safe and washing returned to her. I am very happy with the care Mum is receiving. I would like a little more feedback, as to how much she is eating, drinking and interacting, but the staff are polite and approachable.

I can't thank all at Brookfield Care Home enough for all the wonderful care that they provide for my mum. She was recently classified as end-of-life after having a severe chest infection and was on oxygen and antibiotics. With all the staff's love and care, mum is now not on the end-of-life danger list.
Their love, care and quick action was amazing! Love them all.

My dad was very unhappy here. He had lots of unwitnessed falls and a fight with another resident which again was unwitnessed. He eventually died of Covid. The care home failed to keep it out. I am left with no happy memories. Perfunctory care at best.

Very caring atmosphere. Nothing too much trouble to any of the staff - all very helpful and friendly. My brother appreciates the Christian ethos. Administration in the house and at MHA Head Office very good. All staff have been so helpful in facilitating phone and video contacts with my brother. Although
care home activities have been necessarily restricted over 2020, I'm very impressed by the activities which normally take place. Thank you!

I remember the worry of trying to find a good care home for my Mother when she was ready to leave hospital. It was a helpful social worker who said she had heard Brookfield was good. I was doubtful whether my Mother would settle, given her Alzheimer's, but I need not have fretted, Brookfield proved
its worth: my gaunt, fragile Mother received such kindness and expert care that she surprised us all by putting on a lot of the weight she had lost in hospital and settling into a happy routine. We had expected to lose her quite quickly, but she enjoyed her food and responded to the thoughtful stimulation offered at Brookfield, establishing a good routine. She was happier at Brookfield than she had been for years. When the end came, she slipped away peacefully. She and I received such consideration from her carers at that time especially, I shall never forget their empathy and commitment. My experience, and that of my Mother, leads me to recommend Brookfield very highly indeed.

Overall, excellent. I suggest residents could be given more idea, early each day, of what would be happening to them (a day in bed, time in a wheelchair or whatever). More mugs could be available between 10am and 11.30 when visitors may like mid-morning coffee.

Very friendly and caring. I have made many friends both staff and residents with many activities. We can get our hair done, occasionally facials. Trips to the local supermarket and other shops. Doctor and dentist nearby.

My father has been a resident since April 2016. He has settled well and I am really pleased he is living in such a pleasant place which is his home.


The staff are always patient with my father and treat him with respect.


I always feel at ease when I visit and the staff are always available for

updates on my father, answer any questions I may have, listen to any suggestions I may make and take any action where necessary.

"I'm not going in one of those homes.... never... never.... never!" - the words of my mum just a few weeks ago. She was getting carers visit 3 times a day at home to wash, dress, feed, etc - but she also needed someone there 24/7. The family did it for a few months, but it just got too much.
A place
was found at this home to take her. We told Mum it was a 2 weeks respite care to give us a break, so she agreed to go, although very wary. But after just 3 days, she told us she wished she could stay there because it was so good. She was getting attention whenever she needed or wanted it, fed good food, medicines sorted, made friends already, "sing-a-longs", own room with en-suite - "it's like a hotel," she said.
Absolutely chuffed to bits with the place and the people - and that is good enough for me. Staff and management are ALL superstars in this place - so friendly and caring, but also so professional. Thank you for changing the quality of my mum's life.

My father his happy and well looked after. Brookfield's staff are marvellous, always willing to help support the family as well as my father.


Brookfield is clean and tidy. Staff are very busy but always have time to talk to you and assist if needed.


The atmosphere in this home is relaxing and

stimulating for the residents to keep active in mind and body.


Overall it is a very good home for my father to keep safe and well.
