The home is clean and comfortable with friendly staff providing good care.

There is a very good social activities programme for the residents and the catering is run by a very efficient cook.

Overall Experience

Prior to my husband being placed here in an NHS hub bed my experience of care homes, which although were newer and physically more modern, were not a patch on the care and efficiency we experience continuously at the Triangle. The staff all work diligently to support patients, their families and others on the staff. They seem like one big happy family and double their effort when short staffed (frequently). I find it distressing, therefore: I have gleaned over the 3-4 months visiting here that staff, especially support staff are so inadequately paid resulting in a constant turnover as they have to move to work with more realistic income to support their families. The staff here are gold dust - wonderful people. Do all you an to pay them better and keep them here.

My mother has been in the home for five years now, and although the care she received was good from the outset. I have been impressed by the way the current management team have succeeded in greatly improving the quality of care, the range of activities provided and enhancing the environment of the home, taking on board any concerns expressed by residents or relatives.

I have been staying at Triangle Care Home as a liaison patient, half way between the hospital and going home. I have been made very welcome and feel at home here. The 24/7 nursing provision is excellent. I am very happy here and have no complaints. All my preconceptions about care homes have been dispelled and I would now contemplate living in one later in life if I have to.

Review from David C (Son of Resident) published on 15 September 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Having worked in a care home doing maintenance, I have been very much aware of the difficulties of providing care for residents and in my case, trying to ensure the home was in good order, safe, clean and a little like home. I found the building to be all of these and it was very clear that staff were all ensuring they did their bit to keep it that way.

The staff from the manager and all others welcome you with a smile and if required will assist you to find and use the facilities that are available so if you arrive needing a cup of tea they will ensure you are given one or if your wish allowed to make your own.

Well, that makes it feel like home to me and as my mother was very much one who would get a pot of tea brewing when visitors arrived it is the same for her. Having arrived at many different times of the day I have found her records to be up to date and filled with useful information to ensure her care was ensured. It is clear all staff are doing their bit to make it home.

Our family member has only been here for a few days but so far we are very happy with the service. The home has catered for her vegetarian diet and encouraged her to get out of bed and socialise. Also, the staff has arranged for her papers to be delivered. The staff are kind and considerate.

My friend has been bed bound in the Triangle Care Home or a long time (18 months or thereabouts) and I visit her weekly and take her shopping requests. She suffers from bipolar disorder and is also prone to paranoid delusions from time to time, especially in the evenings so she is a difficult resident. From my observation Triangle Care Home is a star care home in all respects and the staff are amazingly caring and tolerant. Home manager is brilliant and knows how to deal with her. She is not self-funded, periodically kids herself that she has scope to move.

Starting as a care assistant, she has steadily advanced to management roles, holding managerial positions for the past decade. Before Hungerford, she was the registered manager and operations manager at a residential mental health clinic for over four years. One of her proudest achievements is obtaining CQC registration for a new clinic and achieving top ratings in all areas during the first inspection.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys reading and spending time with her family. Her most significant personal achievement is raising a child with special needs and advocating for her quality of life.
