My mum has been resident of Ashton Lodge for 11 years, since March 2015.
Mum picked the lovely room with Mohammad. It has doors that open out on to her little patio and garden that I created on the ground floor.
My mum has complex needs with her mental health illness. Which has been up & down over the years. Having been there a long time Mohammad and his team understand and look after her very well.
My mum and Mohammad have known each other from the beginning. He knows her well and always has time for her and me when I need to raise concerns.
Nice to see Mohammad has been promoted and now the Care Home Manager.
It's peace of mind to myself and my brother, that our mum is in safe hands and that team know her well. Local to me too.
Anyone who reads this & has a member of the family or friend in Care Home will understand, that you have to be their voice. Proactive because you care.

Best wishes Suzanne and Mike

Since my sister was moved to Ashton Lodge over 3 years ago, she has been so well looked after, not only by the Nursing Staff but also by the Admin and Management teams.

Being a complex patient with physical and mental health problems, my sister's needs are met with a lot of love, care, concern and consideration. If she requires a doctor to attend to her, the Care Home ensure her GP or a Care Home doctor is immediately called to attend to her. Under the Manager's watchful management, Ashton Lodge has continued to improve and grow into a superb, caring location. Where I used to worry day and night about my sister's wellbeing, I am now relaxed and TRUST Ashton Lodge caregivers to look after my sister.

I am happy with the care my mother receives. If we have any problems there is always someone to ask and any concerns are noted and dealt with without delay. Although my mother is unable to join in the daily activities it is a pleasure to see how the staff engage and encourage residents to join in. Overall, I am pleased we found Ashton Lodge for our mother.

As a wife of a current resident and regular visitor, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the care provided at Ashton Lodge Nursing Home. The management team and the nursing staff are highly commendable and directly impacts the quality of life here. The nursing staff are very professional. They are not only attentive to medical and physical needs but also take the time to treat residents with deep respect and personal dignity.
The administrative and management team are accessible, highly organised. Whenever I have raised questions, management has addressed my inquiries promptly transparently and with collaborative mindset.
The staff here are very kind, friendly, attentive and make both residents and visitors feel warmly welcomed.

The facilities are always spotlessly clean.

My mum has been in the home now, for close to 10 years. The staff here have been so good to her and myself and that has really taken the pressure off of me and I know that when I leave her, to go home, she is in safe hands. You can see the effort and the willingness of the staff and their want and desire to make things right in their care for her. It truly is wonderful, not just for my mum, but the other residents at the home, that they are treated like family and I am so happy for them and of course my mum. Thank you.

My father moved from residential care to nursing care in March this year due to increased care needs, which was an emotional and upsetting time for our family. From the first phone call with Marlene about Ashton Lodge, we felt reassured. She was caring, thoughtful, and professional, making a difficult process much easier for my mum and me.

Since moving in, my father has received outstanding care and support from the entire team. The transition was seamless, and within weeks he was enjoying outings and activities again, which was wonderful to see. There is always something for residents to enjoy, the food is excellent, and the staff have created a routine that fully supports my father's complex needs.

My mum and I could not be happier with the care he receives. Credit must also go to Mohammad for leading such a compassionate and professional team at Ashton Lodge.

Ashton lodge was recommended for Dad to support his advancing dementia. As I walked in, I knew that it would be perfect for Dad. Staff arranged Dad's admission with care & attention & communicated well with my family.

Dad was welcomed to the Ashton family by all staff, each getting to know Dad on a personal level, to understand his likes, dislikes & mannerisms. They took time to get to know him as an individual; to understand his needs in a holistic way - incorporating his emotional, health and wellbeing needs.

From the friendly smile on arrival, to the in-depth knowledge of the management, everyone plays their part in the Ashton family to ensure that every resident is treated with care, respect and dignity.

The dementia lead, in particular, has an in depth understanding of both dementia & how it has affected each individual in her care & how best to address each symptom & the home manager is highly skilled & happy to help at ground level, to give oversight of day-to-day practice

My Father was admitted in Jan 2026 & has been there for 3 months. The whole experience and support they have shown my father has been amazing. They look after him and give him amazing support throughout the day. Extremely attentive they check in daily and ensure he feels a part of the Family. Food is plentiful and better then you get in a hotel. The lounge areas and external ground are kept clean and very tidy. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a place for a family member or friend that requires a dignified approach to there care.

Went one evening to have a look for our father , immediately felt warm and welcoming, we were shown around and any questions/queries we had were answered with total satisfaction and put us at ease immediately. We accepted on the spot and the following morning he was discharged from hospital to Ashton lodge. On only being there 12 hours we visited him in the evening and he was already settled in and happy . Everyone is amazing, kind, friendly , very attentive to all our fathers needs and ours. Our words for it is very homely and welcoming, The respect, patience ( and our dad can be impatient) and care they give to each and everyone gives us absolute peace of mind. Dad himself said it is homely .

I reviewed Ashton Lodge in July last year after my Mother had been there for 4 months and had nothing but praise for all of the staff there. Sadly my mother passed away on the 27th February 2026, so this is a review at the end of our experience. My mum was so well looked after in the 11 months that she had been there. Her care at all times was exceptional. I was kept informed at all times with updates on her condition.

I was allowed to spend her last night with her in the Nursing Home and was with her when she passed away peacefully. All the staff made this very hard time so much easier, it was a very calm experience .I will forever be thankful for the kindness, care and Dignity that they showed to my Mother in her last few hours.

Mohammed and all the staff, every single one of them make Ashton Lodge such a welcoming place. Their professionalism, kindness and level of care is outstanding. I am just so thankful that we chose this homely, Nursing Home for my Mother last year.

Our brother had to be quickly discharged from hospital so was sent to Ashton Lodge as a temporary stop gap.
On arrival he was immediately attended to by caring and expert staff. They made him feel special. He was instantly made comfortable, they fed him lunch straight away, they checked all his medications and up-coming hospital appointments and took over organising the transport .They registered him with a local GP immediately. We didn't have to do a thing.
After this fabulous first impression, we realised over the next month how wonderful a place it is. They pre-empt every need and are so caring and professional at all times, sending or answering emails brilliantly. Every staff member we have met is exceptionally kind and caring, from receptionist to manager
We asked the social worker if there was any chance he could stay at Ashton lodge permanently. We prayed so hard.

Eventually our wish has come true. Thankyou everyone. Peace of mind means everything to us. He is happy at last.

The care home is very welcoming and good overall. People are good, friendly and helpful. One of my family members are residing over there and he's been treated well. Just require a little bit of more attention towards him from the carers as he's having a bit of serious trauma and injury which led to him in this condition. The staff is good but I think carers could be more helpful and attentive. Overall, all good from my side.

Since my dad has been in the home he has had a great experience, he feels very settled, which in turn helps me to feel happy he's being looked after well.
All the staff are pleasant, friendly & dad loves having a little bit of banter with them.
I cannot praise the home enough, everyone from management to cleaners are so polite & always take time to chat, both to dad & myself.
They know me by first name & im starting to know a few more names myself of the staff, we have a chat either in passing or when im sitting with dad.
Im kept up to date with dad's appointments etc & on occasion where dad has needed a doctor, one has been to see him very promptly.

Im looking forward to going on one of the seaside trips with dad that the home have organised for residents.

It is a worrying, stressful time searching for a home for a family member. We were struck by the commitment from the manager and her team to make Ashton Lodge a real home.
This desire and ambition from the top permeates the building.

The atmosphere is always calm despite the challenging behaviour of some of the residents. The staff are warm, patient and kind, addressing all by their first names. Ashton Lodge is a welcoming, and enthusiastic place. The manager is readily available and her office door is open. My brother tells me he is happy with everything and gives every impression of being so. His wishes are always respected. The food menu is imaginative and well-cooked. It is served and cleared in a positive, jolly manner. It is obvious that the residents enjoy their mealtimes, sitting around small tables. The staff have made a real effort to create a cafe-like space. The medical care has been first rate and the family are emailed promptly should there be anything to report.
