On my last visit to my brother, I was pleased to see him very well-dressed and comfortable in the lovely, spacious lounge. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant, working as a team creating a happy, relaxed atmosphere. They thoughtfully allowed us some quality time with him in a side room and brought
him back for lunch. The menu looked amazing and the dinner trolley arrived with a smiling chef, in his chef whites and hat, serving the food he had prepared. So nice! We left them to enjoy it.
We did not see any signs of activities that day but we walked outside around the spacious garden with its trees and tables which would be lovely, for those who can, to enjoy. My brother is in a lovely home with staff who care. Some of the ratings I have left blank as they at not applicable to me.

My mother arrived in Ashton Lodge from the hospital last September. She had previously been in another care home but we were not impressed with the care and attention she received there.

Ashton Lodge is a welcoming home with a team of hardworking, well-intentioned and dedicated staff. The house and gardens are well-maintained and secure. Standard of meals is exceptional. For new residents it would be helpful to have been furnished with a few house rules including timings of the day,
reception hours, service standards (including response times), fees and charges, staff board with names and roles, who and how to contact with queries or issues. It's a shame the staff rota/coverage doesn't allow for outside supervision in the summer months/fair weather, as I had to bring my step mum inside at the end of visiting.

Since my mum was admitted to Ashton Lodge, we have experienced such wonderful care, treatment and love, particularly for my mum, who is 101 years of age, and the respect and kindness expressed to my family are amazing. The carers and nurses are so good with all the patients, and nothing is too much
when it comes to caring for all of the patients at Ashton Lodge at Sunbury on the Thames. We are so grateful that Mum is cared for so well and happy. Entertainment is wonderful and keeps patients happy all the time.

Clean and homely. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food served here is very nice and the presentation makes you want to try it.

Every one of the staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and always had a smile, also very attentive. Friendly atmosphere.

Can't fault Ashton Lodge. My husband arrived here from 5th hospital stay in one year. Swallowing, dehydration, and chest infection are all related to each other. I insisted he couldn't go back there, and social service placed him at Ashton Lodge. All of his problems were very soon resolved with wonderful
carers' attention.

All staff are very helpful and pleasant. The activity lady is very good with the residents. The manager is very helpful, I came to the Coronation, the food and entertainment were brilliant. A fun day, all the staff were amazing. Plus greeted with a smile when I arrived.

I find Ashton Lodge very homely and efficient staff. Always helpful and kind and meet my dad's needs. I always feel relaxed because they only ring me if my dad's health has declined (antibiotics, infections) and keeps me updated if needed. Very clean rooms and at dinner, breakfast and supper drinks
regularly.

Mum moved into Ashton Lodge in July 2021. Initially, she was placed on the first floor, however, as the conditions did not suit her needs, she was transferred to the downstairs nursing unit in June 2022. The environment here was clean and pleasant with refurbished rooms and access to a lovely garden.
The care and attention she received was outstanding from all staff, including those in non-caring roles. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and for us as visiting relatives, this really helped us to deal with the challenging behaviours Mum displayed at times. This level of care continued all the way through until Mum's passing. We will be eternally grateful to Ashton Lodge for their support to us as a family, and for looking after Mum so well. Thank you.

My friend, unfortunately, is suffering with dementia, he was admitted to hospital and discharged to a care home, his wife promised him he would never end up in a care home but she was unable to manage him at home. I have known the family for 50 years. His wife rang me to say he was in Ashton Lodge in
Sunbury, would I go to see him? When I got there I could not believe my eyes, a welcoming receptionist and area, told me where to go, saw my friend and he was a different person. He was happy and smiled, the manager welcomed me, she had a wonderful, caring, happy staff under her, drop the Care it was 'Home'.

My mother was moved downstairs to the nursing unit in July and it's like she's moved to a new care home. The difference has been significantly positive. She came down no longer eating solids or walking, very withdrawn and agitated. She is now much calmer, content, eating solids again and by herself.
She's had some physiotherapy and with the perseverance of the carers, she is taking some steps and is no longer hoisted. I am so pleased and grateful for her care, thank you.

Since April 22nd 2022, 5 months ago, I made the decision that my brother suffering with learning issues and Parkison's Disease, to research Care/Nursing Homes in the area of Sunbury on Thames. With my brother's consent, we selected Ashton Lodge Nursing Home where the clinical and care staff have been
brilliant and full of understanding about his needs and assistance across many areas. My brother seems happy and safe there.

My Aunt was at Ashton Lodge since early 2014 and diagnosed with vascular dementia. I dislike labeling my dear aunt down syndrome, but she was. It was very difficult to find a nursing home to suit her needs, as she required 24-hour care.
She had a very spacious room on the ground floor, we accessorized
her room, home from home, to ensure her surroundings were familiar. My aunt always had the support of her family to ensure she received the best possible care over the 8 years she was there. Overall the care was good and if you had any concerns then they will try and resolve it. The care industry is extremely overstretched and is a very challenging role, but they did look after my dear aunt well and gave her the care she needed.
The food is very good. If you require something specific the chef will come and ask the resident. I would also like to thank the Dr, he is the most exceptional GP I have ever met. Not many GP's like him, he is an asset to the NHS. Thank you all.

My mother entered the home in January 2021 after a spell in hospital. It was her birthday a few days later and they gave her a lovely cake with her name on it and made her day special. I cannot praise the staff enough. Each and every one of them were so kind and attentive. They really felt more like
friends. I would highly recommend Ashton Lodge to anyone looking for a home for their loved one. Thank you to all of you.

My mum who has dementia was sent to this home after being treated in the hospital for Covid. I found that it was sometimes impossible to get through to the home for updates on her recovery and on a couple of occasions when I did get through, they were talking about the wrong resident! Mum often looked
unkempt and dirty when I visited and more often than not was wearing someone else's clothes (even though I had taken plenty of her own in with her). Mum's mental state deteriorated whilst in there as she was isolated too much and did not have enough interaction with anyone. On calls/visits to mum, she was always very tearful and unhappy. Physios were not called in quick enough which made her bed-bound. Thankfully mum is now back in the residential home where she was (minus a lot of her clothing) prior to her illness and is happy again, eating and drinking by herself (she wasn't when in Ashton), and being well cared for.

My career in Health and Social started as a result of my grandfather being terminally ill. He was being cared for in a hospice which was not caring for him the way we had expected. As a family, a Decision was made to take him home and care for him. One day when supporting my grandfather I had an epiphany that maybe this is what I should be doing. I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives by ensuring they have a good quality of life for the rest of their lives. I graduated with a BSC Psychology degree and went on to achieve Health & social vocational qualifications.


After graduating I went on to become a Dementia support worker and developed my career very quickly in Management.


I have worked for 20 years in the sector in different capacities and am extremely passionate about providing a high standard of quality care.

I enjoy developing teams and supporting them to reach their full potential.
