Very secure and extremely happy and inviting care home.
Welcoming reception area - decorated well.
Exceptional staff. Trained. Totally committed to the residents.
The activity coordinator - fantastic - brilliant ideas to include all residents, cooking, singing, games, art and crafts (just naming a few) arranged visits and outings.

Lots of parties and celebrations throughout the year.

My mother has been at Ashton Lodge for three and a half years. I highly recommend the level of care, patience and dignity offered to residents. The staff could not be kinder and more attentive and my mother could not be better cared for which is a great comfort.

My partner has been at Ashton Lodge since early 2017. I have nothing but praise and admiration for the staff who work on the first floor. They always welcome me when I visit and tell me about what has been happening or how my partner is. They are a very caring and friendly bunch, even when stretched to their limits.

My mother is very well looked after in most ways. The carers are brilliant and so are the nurses and all other staff, but could do with a few more staff as they are very overworked. My mother has someone to talk to whenever she needs it. The food is very good and I can now, at last, know she is safe, well-fed and generally looked after.

My husband became a resident in Ashton Lodge in December 2016. At the time, he was on a tube feed, catheter.
The dietician visited him and within no time he was eating food.

All this was cared for by nursing and care staff. He suffered from dreadful urine infections and again urology let us try without it, again a success. He always received prompt attention when necessary, tender care and consideration, even the staff who cooked scrambled eggs. Sadly he died very quickly, his GP, head nurse, nurses and carers made his last days and mine as smooth as they were able. Since then I have been contacted by Ashton Lodge, they are still watching out for me. I am indebted to each and every one of the staff. We both came to love and respect you all.

To all staff at Ashton Lodge. Nothing can possibly convey my sense of gratitude to you all for the kindness and care you showed to my dad. He was very contented during his time at the home and often said how lovely the staff were. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

My mother was a very independent lady up until she was almost 100 years old. She was very resistant to living in a care home and took a while to settle and to realize that she could no longer care for herself at home. The staff at Ashton Lodge were very caring and were ready to have a laugh with her and help her in every way. She was in their care for nine months and in letters, I received from her she commented on their caring attitude and said how lucky she was to be there. I am so grateful to all the management and staff.

Warmly welcomed on arrival. All their needs were met, including the marking of my husband's clothing. We were at all times treated with respect and absolute kindness. The staff were always patient with residents' challenging behaviour. Never a voice raised or treated roughly.

The staff were very sensitive to our needs and saw it important that family and friends were offered hospitality when present and not only at meal times. I never worried about his care when I wasn't present. I trusted them implicitly. I cannot praise the home enough.

I held power of attorney for an elderly friend who developed dementia as a result of a stroke and latterly became bedbound. She spent four and a half years at Ashton Lodge. Throughout that time I was impressed by the kindness, care and respect with which she was treated by the carers and nurses. It gave me peace of mind to know that she was safe and well cared for. I felt the staff were genuinely caring and that my friend was fortunate to be at Ashton Lodge.

Throughout her time I felt the home maintained a high standard of care and I was told if she became ill between visits, which latterly were weekly. The home held residents' and relatives' meetings with the manager and other senior staff present to answer questions and listen to relatives' concerns.

Ashton Lodge is excellent. I can find no fault with at all. Good care all around. Very caring and understanding staff. I just wish Mum had been a little better, so she could have enjoyed everything that was provided. Staff were so kind to myself and my family when she died. I can only say thank you.

My Aunt was in Ashton Lodge through October and November 2017. The staff were without exception extremely kind to her and made her last few weeks very comfortable and safe. They provided a lovely cake for her 80th birthday and were generous with their time.

Her room was always clean and tidy and the staff were always popping in to see if she needed anything. She was very well cared for and I am very grateful to the whole team for all they did for her - I cannot praise them too highly and would recommend the home in an instant without any reservations.

My mother is 97 years old, bedridden with severe dementia. I couldn't be happier with the level of care she is receiving at Ashton Lodge. She is frequently checked in her room by staff who are all kind, efficient and professional. All her needs are being met including time taken to identify her likes and ensure she is as comfortable and happy as possible. Communication with the family is excellent. The home is very well run.

My husband was blind and a double amputee and very depressed when we arrived at Ashton Lodge just over 4 years ago. Thanks to the perseverance of the carers and dedicated nursing staff, he turned an important corner, wrote his autobiography and enjoyed many jokes with the staff, frankly, they saved his sanity and mine. I shall be extremely grateful to Ashton Lodge.
