Brownscombe Care Residences is nestled in the woodland of Haslemere overlooking Nutcombe Valley. It enjoys magnificent views of the surrounding countryside and is conveniently located close to the A3. It caters for residential, nursing and palliative care for up to 55 residents and aims to transform lives through high-quality care in a friendly, homely environment.

The residences include Brownscombe Nursing Home; established in 1984, an Edwardian country-house setting offering a choice of luxurious, single rooms, some with direct access to private patios and gardens. Each room comes with a multi-position, electric profiling bed, HD TV, private phoneline, Wi-Fi, and nurse attendant system. Set in its more than 3 acres of landscaped gardens, is the newly built Brownscombe Lodge, also providing a range of private en-suite bedrooms, complete with full wet room facilities.

The beautiful conservatory offers a relaxing retreat, looking out to alluring wisteria in the gardens, which is popular amongst residents for pursuing their gardening and outdoor activities. Residents also enjoy access to a choice of two lounges, a cinema, hair salon and nail bar. With a striking turret and hand-carved door from Nepal, Brownscombe bursts with character and its unique appearance is only enhanced by the beauty of the surrounding Surrey countryside.

Every day, meals are freshly prepared and individually tailored to residents' needs with the choice to eat in a welcoming bistro and dining room. Brownscombe Care provides a high-quality service in a friendly and homely environment, so all residents can live independently. Residents also have the opportunity to get involved with a range of mentally and physically stimulating activities, organised by the activity coordinator.

I was very impressed with the Covid regulations. I was tested upon arrival and shown to a visitor room. Screen in place for visits as well as mask-wearing by all staff. No hand gel in this room and the dispenser outside the door was empty. I had my own but I'm sure if I had asked it would have been
provided.

To anyone who has a loved one in need of care look no further than Brownscombe.
The facilities are first class, the management is brilliant and the staff can't help the residents enough.
My Father was going down hill fast his mental and physical state was an incredible worry to the family yet after
being at Brownscombe for only a few weeks we have all seen a vast improvement in him. He is more like his old self and the happiest we have seen him in a long time.
5 stars is too low a rating to give as far as we as a family are concerned.
Many many thank to all at Brownscombe.

My wife came to Brownscombe House in December 2019. She was in a very poor physical and mental condition. She needed serious nursing care. She has shown substantial improvement in both respects and I am delighted with the care she has received. The GP indicated that Brownscombe House was just the right
place for my wife - and she was right. I feel that she is now in good hands and much better off than trying to care for her myself.

My mother was rapidly discharged from hospital due to the COVID situation following a stroke and so we did not choose Brownscombe. However, we have been absolutely delighted with the choice of home and the care that Mum has received.
My mother is 99-years-old, severely paralysed with dysphagia and
very frail. Her condition fluctuates and she requires expert nursing assessment and care. She has been receiving this and moreover, all the staff that we have met have enormous patience, empathy and skill. They have kept me fully informed and have rung me as soon as there has been any change in Mother's condition. Unfortunately, Mum has been too unwell to participate in any activities and so I cannot score those.
There are too many staff to name, but I would like to extend my grateful thanks to them all.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Brownscombe to any of my friends or relatives.

My husband has been in the home for nine months. He is very well cared for and keeps well. I feel welcomed each time I visit. Staff, in particular, are friendly, patent and kind. A real " home from home".

Whenever I visit I am greeted by staff members in a friendly manner.
My sister is always cheerful and relaxed. She is fully involved with all activities and staff make a huge effort to include her.
If ever I need to speak to a member of the management team this is arranged without a problem.

My husband is receiving very good care from staff and management. The family are free to visit at any time and are always made welcome by the friendly and helpful staff and management.
He does not sleep well at night and this worries him. Hopefully, the night time staff realise this and care for him
with patience and kindness.

After accepting I could no longer adequately care for my mother who has dementia and represents a very high fall risk, I had to choose an appropriate care home for her. I selected Brownscombe House largely on the positive feelings I instantly received from the staff. My initial instinct has so far proven
correct. My mother constantly tells me how well she is cared for and thus far I remain happy with my choice.

Dad has been at Brownscombe since October 2017. He was initially quite concerned about moving from home to a care home but has settled really well mainly down to the excellent care and nursing team who have made every effort to reassure and give him attention when needed but also space when he wants
quiet and peace. As his condition continues to deteriorate the nursing palliative care has been first class.

My mother died at Brownscombe at the end of February 2017 at the grand old age of 104 years old and the care she has received has been superb. She had spent the twilight of her years in beautiful surroundings and cared for by wonderful staff. All have been kind and considerate to her in every way. Special
thanks to the activities coordinator, who's radiating smile and personality make any care home succeed and to the care home manager, well done and many thanks to you all.

My sister came to Brownsmead House to be cared for as she was suffering from terminal cancer.


Her care could not have been any better. The staff all welcomed her and made her last weeks comfortable and pain-free.

My friend has dementia and is totally dependent on the staff at Brownscombe. I have visited the home on several occasions and there was always staff on hand helping residents in a kind and sensitive way. It is clearly evident that staff are employed based on their caring and nurturing nature and that
they also appear to be very well trained. The home is clean and everyone is very welcoming. In my opinion, there has been a significant improvement since the new manager has been in post. The manager is very visible and is very 'hands-on' in her approach. I have witnessed her reassuring a very anxious man and it was evident that she had a very caring demeanour. The home is being run very well and is a credit to the efforts of the manager who makes herself available and obviously has a personal knowledge and interest in the well-being of all the residents of the home. A big thank you and well done to the staff and Management of Brownscombe House!!
