Cedar Lodge is an award-winning purpose-built care home in Surrey, combining 24-hour residential and nursing care with warm and friendly hospitality for up to 60 residents on a permanent and respite basis. Framed by woodland, residents enjoy lovely views from their luxurious bedrooms equipped with ensuite facilities, spacious communal areas for entertaining and dining, a dedicated activities wing, café and hair salon. Outside, a landscaped garden and tranquil courtyard provide space for residents and their loved ones to relax and enjoy. Cedar Lodge even cultivates honey from its own beehives.

Their award-winning activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences. Activities are adapted to the daily wishes of residents and their cultural interests and supported by their life-stories in line with Cedar Lodge’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care. They involve families in care and activity planning to gain a personal understanding of what really matters to each resident and learn about their favourite pastimes and hobbies so they can tailor activities to suit their preferences.

Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff at Cedar Lodge settling Dad into his new home, discovering his wants and needs and encouraging interaction with other home users, whilst respecting his wish to have quiet times to himself. Everything in his nursing and personal care given willingly and
with good grace. The home is spotless, gardens well tended and the new coffee area has proved a favourite for Dad to socialise with residents as well as visiting family - even the dog has been welcome! Having their own wheelchair-friendly transport has been a real plus too.

My friend has been in Cedar Lodge since 2021. I have nothing but praise for all the management and staff. They are simply amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and I would highly recommend Cedar Lodge as a 5-star care home.

I do not know how this place has got 4.5* as my first impression was more money has been put into surroundings than into patient care. £1700 a week is a ridiculous amount of money. My dad should have had 5-star treatment for that money but the way my dad has gone downhill since being there almost a
year is unacceptable. My mum wanted to know exactly what was happening and we were surrounded by foreign “professionals” and quite honestly my 76-year-old mum goes alone and says she feels intimidated by them and I could see exactly what she meant. It's funny how there are so many of these “residential care, private homes for elderly” popping up all overrun by ill-speaking foreigners”.

I’m sorry you have chosen to make such comments by way of a review platform rather than attempting to discuss with the management of the home first. I’m sure if you had done that, you would form a very different view of your father’s care and the staff providing it.


Bearing in mind you have not previously visited in the 10 months since your father’s admission to Cedar Lodge, it is hard to see how you can make an informed judgement as to his current or previous condition, particularly given that he was originally admitted as needing palliative care.


Cedar Lodge has not just “popped up”, it has been providing care for over 34 years. You are right in that we do continually improve the surroundings and facilities in the home but that is absolutely not at the expense of care and is entirely to benefit our residents by making sure they always have the best possible environment to live in. We make equal investment in our staff and well over half of the entire staff have worked at the home for at least 5 years, with many of them having worked there for 10, 15 and up to 30 years. They are extremely loyal, hardworking, dedicated and caring, wherever you believe they may be from.


I think it would be worth you discussing your concerns with the manager of the home so you can gain a proper understanding of both your father’s condition and the care being provided. Please get in touch as soon as possible should you wish to do so.

My late uncle was a resident at Cedar Lodge for 2 years and 2 months. I cannot fault the exceptional care he received during that time, nothing was ever too much trouble. My uncle had Vascular Dementia which could be difficult at times but the staff were amazing and treated him with the utmost dignity
and respect. As my uncle's power of attorney and next of kin, the staff always kept me updated and fully involved in all decisions relating to his care. They were always professional, approachable and friendly and the team navigated the Covid pandemic brilliantly, with management keeping me updated as to the latest procedures for visits. The home was always spotlessly clean and tidy, there was always a lovely atmosphere when visiting and the staff always seemed happy in their work. If another member of my family needed the services of a care home either for respite or permanent care, I wouldn't hesitate in entrusting their care to the staff at Cedar Lodge. Thank you team, I shall miss you!

My brother spent his last 7 months at Cedar Lodge and in that time he was always treated with kindness, respect and genuine care. I visit my mum twice a week and the staff are always helpful, thoughtful, cheerful, polite and very caring. There is always a good selection of activities on offer. A good variety of food is always available. We are always kept up to date with mum's health and it is comforting to know the doctor visits
once a week. The staff make it apparent they enjoy their jobs and it is a happy place to work.

I am so glad I have found Cedar Lodge to care for my mum. It has been a difficult transition for Mum, moving from her own home in Sheffield to Frimley, but all the staff have been very welcoming and kind and this has helped Mum settle in. I consider Cedar Lodge a little gem.

My mother has been at Cedar Lodge Care Home for almost three years. The staff are the absolute best - highly professional but also friendly, kind and caring. Whenever I visit, I am made to feel very welcome. If I have any queries, they are dealt with promptly and, likewise, if the nursing staff have
any concerns regarding Mum, they get in touch without delay. I know that Mum is safe, well cared for, loved and treated with dignity and respect. I never have to worry about her, well at least not any more than is normal for a caring daughter! Unfortunately, as Mum is confined to bed, she is unable to join in with the many fabulous activities available. However, as the staff know that Mum loves birds, they have put a bird feeding station right outside her window so she can watch all the goings on from her bed. Just one of the many kindnesses Mum has experienced. I'm so glad we found Cedar Lodge - Mum couldn't be in a better place and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Dad has been at Cedar Lodge for 18 months and sadly recently passed away there. He was looked after by all the staff in a gentle and kindly manner and I felt supported by everyone and allowed to visit whenever I liked to enable me to be with Dad. If there were any changes in his condition then we were
contacted and given opportunities to discuss his care whenever needed. Although the staff were always very busy, we were never hurried and always treated with patience and kindness. Thank you to everyone who made Dad’s final months as comfortable and dignified as possible.

My father entered Cedar Lodge Care Home after suffering from a number of falls, which eventually resulted in a broken hip. After failing to recover mobility, he entered Cedar Lodge in November 2022. All of the staff, from the moment he moved in, were always so accommodating. Whenever I turned up to
visit, everyone knew who I was and who I was there to see. As Dad's condition deteriorated, everyone ensured that Dad remained comfortable. Sadly, he passed away on 19th May but again, I cannot say enough about how kind all of the staff were.

When I visited my grandmother at Cedar Lodge Care Home I was pleased to see how happy and content she was. She was clean and well-dressed and seemed in good spirits. The staff all knew her by name and laughed and joked with her. Even though my grandma is not compos mentis, it made her smile and she

In October 2021, I needed to find a care home for my mum after she had experienced a couple of falls at home. Having seen other care homes where my Mother in Law was, I was dreading trying to find somewhere where she would be safe, comfortable and well looked after. My wife made the initial visit and
her feedback was all very positive, Chalk and Cheese compared to where her mum ended up! Mum was starting to show some early signs of memory problems, but could still comprehend what was happening to her. We initially did a few weeks of respite care to see how she settled. This was arranged very quickly and she settled in easily, the care and support she has received since can only be described as excellent. The home itself is nicely located and well equipped, food and facilities are all very good. The key difference is the staff, everyone from the care team, cleaning, laundry, admin, activities, nursing and management is outstanding. I know I can trust this team to fully take care of Mum.

At short notice, we looked at three care homes and chose Cedar Lodge Care Home for our mum. We are so pleased we did! The location is superb and the garden is a pleasant, well-tended space where we spent many hours outside in the summer. It is clean and bright inside with many activities and visiting
entertainment. It is the staff that makes Cedar Lodge, it has such a happy, friendly, caring atmosphere. All the staff are kind, respectful, compassionate and go above and beyond to make us all feel welcome.

My mother-in-law has been in Cedar Lodge Care Home for ten years and I cannot praise the kindness and care offered by all the staff over that time. Visiting is allowed without notice. Rooms are en-suite, comfortable and large. The home may not have the grand pianos and chandeliers that others have but
what it lacks in bling it makes up for in kindness, empathy and caring, it has a really lovely atmosphere. Sadly my mother-in-law passed away in December 2022 at the age of 97 but she was always treated with respect and dignity. Cannot praise it highly enough.

Cedar Lodge Care Home staff provided my aunt with exceptional care throughout her residency. Their love and patience made her feel like she had a new extended family and I can only thank them all for the kindness they showed. The activities provided were varied and many, my aunt particularly enjoyed

My mother stayed at Cedar Lodge Care Home for respite care, following a hip replacement. Thanks to the care and attention she received, her recovery was greatly improved. The staff were very caring and attended to her with respect, they always spoke to us as a family which made us all feel welcome.
As my mother has to follow a specific diet, this was handled well, although she felt the portions could have been larger. Overall, the care was excellent and my mother enjoyed her stay, she has returned home, able to live independently again.

Very happy with the service provided at Cedar Lodge Care Home. The staff are all helpful and looked after my mother well. We were kept up to date on changes during lockdown and measures were quickly put in place to enable relatives to see each other via technology methods when we could not visit in

My mother is a resident at Cedar Lodge Care Home. We could not have chosen a better, more friendly residence for her. Because we live a long way away, we need to know that she is safe and well-cared for, in every respect. Cedar Lodge delivers on every level. The staff are fully engaged in the residents'
care and needs. The activities leader does a wonderful job providing a wide range of interesting activities to keep everyone happy and participating. There is a Skype facility available, which is a huge bonus for relatives who live a distance from their loved ones. The grounds are beautiful and the meals menu is extensive. Our mother really enjoys getting her hair, onsite, done too. Finally, the manager is extremely experienced and promotes an "open door" policy which means that relatives can be kept fully informed or ask any questions and can expect full and comprehensive replies and attention. I would give Cedar Lodge ten stars if I could!

Nenita Jopson

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2009

Nenita qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1990 in her native Philippines. She has worked all over the world, including nursing in hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Singapore, before moving to the UK in 2004. She began working at Forest Care as a Nurse and then progressing to Clinical Lead, Head of Care, Deputy Manager and now Registered Care Home Manager of Cedar Lodge.


Nenita’s hard-working nature and open-door policy gains respect from her staff, gives relatives peace of mind and enhances the lives of residents. She naturally leads her team by example in offering exemplary person-centred care to her service users, which her workforce reflects. in 2019, Nenita was selected as winner of the Frontline Leader of the Year at the Surrey Care Awards.

Florisa

Florisa Molera

Job Title: Head of Care Joined: 2008

Florisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has built up 17 years of experience working in the UK as a nurse in a variety of medical settings. Florisa has now been working at Cedar Lodge for 10 years and is our compassionate and dedicated Head of Care.


With an extensive background in nursing, Florisa is responsible for managing the clinical care of the residents in the home. This involves supervising the Nurses, Senior Carers and Carers to ensure residents receive person-centred care in accordance with their assessed needs and plans of care, along with focusing on their mental, physical and emotional well-being.

Jayne started working with us at Cedar Lodge in 2014 and has quickly become part of the team and is equally committed to ensuring each and every resident is happy and well looked after. Jayne is a passionate member of the team who is proud to work at Cedar Lodge.


As Administrator, Jayne is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functioning of the home and supporting Nenita to ensure everything happens as it should. This involves a variety of tasks such as employment checks, enquiry handling, show rounds and admissions, to being a point of contact for residents and relatives while dealing with their day-to-day requests.

Bhanu

Bhanu Morampudi

Bhanu has been working as a professional Chef for over 10 years.


For 3 years, Bhanu has worked at Cedar Lodge as our talented and passionate Head Chef. He works hard to develop a menu that is appealing to residents while focusing on their nutritional and dietary needs.


Bhanu brings his strong creative flair to work every day, presenting his food in artistic ways and making sure there is a strong colour balance on the plate. Cooking with seasonal fresh foods is important to Bhanu, who is passionate about caring for our residents through his meals.

David

David Fielding

Job Title: Maintenance Manager Joined: 2017

David is our Handyman who works very hard fixing things and making sure our home runs smoothly. This involves ensuring that any maintenance/repair works are carried out promptly and efficiently with minimum disturbance.


David is a wonderful support to the home and will often participate in special activities.

Wendy and Yumi

Wendy and Yumi Activities Team

Job Title: Activities Team Joined: 1992

Wendy and Yumi are our award-winning activities team. They excellently nurture residents’ social and mental well-being, alongside their physical care within the Activities they provide.


The activities team uses care plans and consider residents’ histories and hobbies to plan respectful activities that enhance lives, encourage socialisation and stimulate memories. This is an important part of our person-centred care.
