At short notice, we looked at three care homes and chose Cedar Lodge Care Home for our mum. We are so pleased we did! The location is superb and the garden is a pleasant, well-tended space where we spent many hours outside in the summer. It is clean and bright inside with many activities and visiting entertainment. It is the staff that makes Cedar Lodge, it has such a happy, friendly, caring atmosphere. All the staff are kind, respectful, compassionate and go above and beyond to make us all feel welcome.

My mother-in-law has been in Cedar Lodge Care Home for ten years and I cannot praise the kindness and care offered by all the staff over that time. Visiting is allowed without notice. Rooms are en-suite, comfortable and large. The home may not have the grand pianos and chandeliers that others have but what it lacks in bling it makes up for in kindness, empathy and caring, it has a really lovely atmosphere. Sadly my mother-in-law passed away in December 2022 at the age of 97 but she was always treated with respect and dignity. Cannot praise it highly enough.

My sister came to live at Cedar Lodge Care Home in 2022. During her short stay, the care she received was excellent. The staff were kind and caring, not only to my sister but to all her family. My thanks to everyone.

Cedar Lodge Care Home staff provided my aunt with exceptional care throughout her residency. Their love and patience made her feel like she had a new extended family and I can only thank them all for the kindness they showed. The activities provided were varied and many, my aunt particularly enjoyed dominoes and live music. I highly recommend Cedar Lodge as a care home.

My mother stayed at Cedar Lodge Care Home for respite care, following a hip replacement. Thanks to the care and attention she received, her recovery was greatly improved. The staff were very caring and attended to her with respect, they always spoke to us as a family which made us all feel welcome. As my mother has to follow a specific diet, this was handled well, although she felt the portions could have been larger. Overall, the care was excellent and my mother enjoyed her stay, she has returned home, able to live independently again.

Very happy with the service provided at Cedar Lodge Care Home. The staff are all helpful and looked after my mother well. We were kept up to date on changes during lockdown and measures were quickly put in place to enable relatives to see each other via technology methods when we could not visit in person. I would highly recommend Forest Care.

My mother is a resident at Cedar Lodge Care Home. We could not have chosen a better, more friendly residence for her. Because we live a long way away, we need to know that she is safe and well-cared for, in every respect. Cedar Lodge delivers on every level. The staff are fully engaged in the residents' care and needs. The activities leader does a wonderful job providing a wide range of interesting activities to keep everyone happy and participating. There is a Skype facility available, which is a huge bonus for relatives who live a distance from their loved ones. The grounds are beautiful and the meals menu is extensive. Our mother really enjoys getting her hair, onsite, done too. Finally, the manager is extremely experienced and promotes an "open door" policy which means that relatives can be kept fully informed or ask any questions and can expect full and comprehensive replies and attention. I would give Cedar Lodge ten stars if I could!

My mother and mother-in-law have both been looked after by the brilliant, caring and friendly staff at Cedar Lodge Care Home. All very professional in what they do and help residents feel that they have activities to enjoy whatever their interests are. So many of the staff have been working there over a long period and got to know the residents and their relatives. Nothing seems too much trouble. The home is very well-equipped with a lovely activities room, garden area and lounge. Nursing staff update you regularly and we always felt they had time to help us understand how Mum and Mum-in-Law were doing. We definitely feel that choosing Cedar Lodge was the best decision we made for the care of our relatives.

My stepfather enjoyed a very comfortable 13-months at Cedar Lodge. We found the level of care he experienced to be of the highest quality. The staff have been very professional and courteous, and in my opinion, have looked at the challenges of ongoing family visits during the Covid period extremely well. Whilst he was in the main, unable to enjoy the organised activities, it's evident that the staff do all they can to ensure a pleasurable experience as possible for all their residents.

Picking a home for Mum when she hadn’t accepted that she needed care was extremely hard. This was made easy by the support of all staff at Cedar Lodge and the atmosphere of the home. On my first visit, I was welcomed by everyone. The activities room was buzzing with residents all chatting and obviously happy. Mum went to Cedar Lodge after hospital, the staff cared for Mum’s needs but also my needs giving me time to talk. The first time I got a call at 8 pm from the nurse I panicked but this is normal practice to keep in touch with the family. When leaving late one evening, the residents were returning to their rooms, the chatter and laughter between them and staff was so wonderful and my choice was reaffirmed. When Mum fell ill again, the staff looked after Mum until the ambulance took her to the hospital, they kept me informed and when she amazingly returned, she was welcomed back like a member of the family. “I’m so happy to be back here, they are all so kind to me” acceptance from Mum!

I can't thank you enough for the care and kindness you gave Mum during her month-long respite stay following her operation. Cedar Lodge kept me updated with Mum's progress and were always available for Mum whenever she needed anything. Everywhere felt Covid safe. The manager and the team make this a happy, efficient and thriving care home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cedar Lodge. Thank you.

My sister was admitted to Cedar Lodge Nursing Home on 11th January 2018 as I had been diagnosed with Osteoperosis and could no longer look after her. She was repeatedly falling over and I could not lift her. She was given an excellent room and the care she has had and continues to enjoy is outstanding. I have always been contacted if she has had a fall and told if she has needed to go to the hospital. I have not been able to visit during the Covid pandemic as I am 79, however I can talk to her on the phone. This excellent nursing home has not had one case of Covid.

Cedar Lodge is deserving of the highest praise as all the staff have worked so hard to keep the home safe during this dreadful pandemic, Covid 19. My husband had been a resident from 17.02.2019 till his death on 14.12.2020, having suffered for nearly 19 years from Parkinson's. During his stay at the home, we found the staff to be kind and understanding. From 6th July my husband had been bedbound and had to be turned every two hours and the nurses and carers were brilliant. Cedar Lodge is in the excellent, capable hands of its manager. She and her staff run the care home as a team and it is the strength of the teamwork that makes the home so outstanding as they cater for all the needs of their residents. I feel Cedar Lodge does go the extra mile for its residents, their families and friends.

Thank you for your compassion, support and professionalism in looking after our dad. Your attention to detail in getting to know him, plan his medical needs and care for him every day was outstanding. We were particularly appreciative of your experience in palliative care. Dad's 4 months with you were comfortable, pain-free and peaceful. Thank you for welcoming my brother, sister and me into Cedar Lodge too - nothing was too much trouble and your willingness to let us be with dad or speak to him on Skype daily during COVID-19 gave us reassurance and comfort. We want to express our gratitude to all the staff and highly recommend Cedar Lodge - you are a fabulous, caring team!
