Cedar Lodge is an award-winning purpose-built care home in Surrey, combining 24-hour residential and nursing care with warm and friendly hospitality for up to 60 residents on a permanent and respite basis. Framed by woodland, residents enjoy lovely views from their luxurious bedrooms equipped with ensuite facilities, spacious communal areas for entertaining and dining, a dedicated activities wing, café and hair salon. Outside, a landscaped garden and tranquil courtyard provide space for residents and their loved ones to relax and enjoy. Cedar Lodge even cultivates honey from its own beehives.

Their award-winning activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences. Activities are adapted to the daily wishes of residents and their cultural interests and supported by their life-stories in line with Cedar Lodge’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care. They involve families in care and activity planning to gain a personal understanding of what really matters to each resident and learn about their favourite pastimes and hobbies so they can tailor activities to suit their preferences.

Some of the many activities they provide are; cultural days, themed tea parties and dining experiences, floristry workshops, arts & crafts, beauty sessions, outdoor games, trips out to nearby attractions, live musical entertainers – tap dancers, accordionists, Motown singers, tribute acts - and visiting animals – alpacas, piglets, cavies and monkeys to name a few!

My father has been at Cedar Lodge for 8 weeks and when he arrived he was in very bad shape. All the staff, nurses, carers, admin staff and utility staff have been quite simply exceptional in looking after him. The nurses are knowledgeable, kind, gentle and professional and have healed Dad in a very
short time. He is treated with kindness, patience and good humour by Carers and Nurses, I visit regularly and every time I go he is clean, content and well cared for and the things he needs are to hand. The staff take time to talk to Dad and to talk to me about his progress and there is a welcome every time I go. The food is very good. There isn’t one single thing that I would change about Cedar View. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needed a place for their loved one. I feel I can trust them to take care of Dad and I don’t have to worry any more.

The home is set on a very pleasant site, which is quiet, considering how close it is to the local roads. The decor of the newly decorated interior is pleasing to the eye. The services that are provided, such as the hairdressing, is excellent and seems to be greatly appreciated by all of the residents.
All in all a very comfortable and well-run home.

My wife has been a resident at Cedar Lodge for three and a half years to date and I have witnessed many changes, all beneficial throughout. During all the months of upheaval, the Manager and staff coped with extremely well. One thing I must say is that Cedar Lodge is more than a Nursing Home it becomes
a home for the residents achieved by the hard work of the staff.

My mother is a long term resident at Cedar Lodge (over 2 years) and we are very happy with the care she receives there. Her needs have changed over the past year and the Home has responded extremely well with frequent assessments and communication with us. There have been recent building works which
have provided really excellent extra facilities and a total refurbishment of all the private and public areas. Throughout this mum has been looked after and reassured and loves her ‘new’ room and we have been kept in the loop. Cannot praise the staff highly enough. They are extremely warm, caring and very professional. We have no concerns regarding her health or welfare. The menu seems very popular and the residents seem very happy with their meals. In fact, having spoken with a number of other visitors, we look forward to visiting at Cedar Lodge as there is always something interesting going on and a very happy atmosphere.

The factors which can be measured such as the number of staff, cleanliness, facilities are relatively easy to quantify.
What is less easy to quantify is the soft factors such as the ethos of the team, the authenticity of the individual staff member to the needs and care of the resident. The unconditional
care that the staff members show to all the residents is both personal to the resident and genuine - much more than simply polite and caring.
This is what makes Cedar Lodge unique and makes the REAL difference.

The upgrade to the home is pretty much completed and the new activities room is brilliant. As always the staff and management of the home continue to be excellent. We cannot fault the care my mother has been given, the staff are always friendly, welcoming and caring. There are organised activities on
most days so cannot complain about being bored. The home is spick and span even more so now it has been redecorated. Food is good and with so many different tastes it must be difficult to put on a menu that suits everyone. Overall a very good home. My wife works in the care industry and she can vouch for the excellence of Cedar Lodge.

I cannot recommend Cedar Lodge highly enough. My mother was resident there for three months and unfortunately died recently. We had all the support possible from the staff. They were sensitive to our needs and unobtrusive. I was with mum when she died and was very grateful that she was treated with
so much dignity and respect at all times, especially at the end. Mum passed away in the best way possible, surrounded by loved ones and carers.


Although mum didn't eat a lot during her time there, she always had lovely food available and at any time she wanted it. The management were supportive and unobtrusive. The nursing and care staff treated mum with dignity and were always available to help her when she needed it. Mum was fiercely independent, so there help was sensitively offered to preserve her independence whenever possible.
Thank you to everyone at Cedar Lodge for making Mum's last days, the best that they could have been.

Nenita Jopson

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2009

Nenita qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1990 in her native Philippines. She has worked all over the world, including nursing in hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Singapore, before moving to the UK in 2004. She began working at Forest Care as a Nurse and then progressing to Clinical Lead, Head of Care, Deputy Manager and now Registered Care Home Manager of Cedar Lodge.


Nenita’s hard-working nature and open-door policy gains respect from her staff, gives relatives peace of mind and enhances the lives of residents. She naturally leads her team by example in offering exemplary person-centred care to her service users, which her workforce reflects. in 2019, Nenita was selected as winner of the Frontline Leader of the Year at the Surrey Care Awards.

Florisa

Florisa Molera

Job Title: Head of Care

Joined: 2008

Florisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has built up 17 years of experience working in the UK as a nurse in a variety of medical settings. Florisa has now been working at Cedar Lodge for 10 years and is our compassionate and dedicated Head of Care.


With an extensive background in nursing, Florisa is responsible for managing the clinical care of the residents in the home. This involves supervising the Nurses, Senior Carers and Carers to ensure residents receive person-centred care in accordance with their assessed needs and plans of care, along with focusing on their mental, physical and emotional well-being.

Jayne

Jayne Barker

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2014

Jayne started working with us at Cedar Lodge in 2014 and has quickly become part of the team and is equally committed to ensuring each and every resident is happy and well looked after. Jayne is a passionate member of the team who is proud to work at Cedar Lodge.


As Administrator, Jayne is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functioning of the home and supporting Nenita to ensure everything happens as it should. This involves a variety of tasks such as employment checks, enquiry handling, show rounds and admissions, to being a point of contact for residents and relatives while dealing with their day-to-day requests.

Bhanu

Bhanu Morampudi

Job Title: Head Chef

Joined: 2017

Bhanu has been working as a professional Chef for over 10 years.


For 3 years, Bhanu has worked at Cedar Lodge as our talented and passionate Head Chef. He works hard to develop a menu that is appealing to residents while focusing on their nutritional and dietary needs.


Bhanu brings his strong creative flair to work every day, presenting his food in artistic ways and making sure there is a strong colour balance on the plate. Cooking with seasonal fresh foods is important to Bhanu, who is passionate about caring for our residents through his meals.

David

David Fielding

Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Joined: 2017

David is our Handyman who works very hard fixing things and making sure our home runs smoothly. This involves ensuring that any maintenance/repair works are carried out promptly and efficiently with minimum disturbance.


David is a wonderful support to the home and will often participate in special activities.

Wendy and Yumi Activities Team

Joined: 1992

Wendy and Yumi are our award-winning activities team. They excellently nurture residents’ social and mental well-being, alongside their physical care within the Activities they provide.


The activities team uses care plans and consider residents’ histories and hobbies to plan respectful activities that enhance lives, encourage socialisation and stimulate memories. This is an important part of our person-centred care.
