Cedar Lodge is an award-winning purpose-built care home in Surrey, combining 24-hour residential and nursing care with warm and friendly hospitality for up to 60 residents on a permanent and respite basis. Framed by woodland, residents enjoy lovely views from their luxurious bedrooms equipped with ensuite facilities, spacious communal areas for entertaining and dining, a dedicated activities wing, café and hair salon. Outside, a landscaped garden and tranquil courtyard provide space for residents and their loved ones to relax and enjoy. Cedar Lodge even cultivates honey from its own beehives.

Their award-winning activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences. Activities are adapted to the daily wishes of residents and their cultural interests and supported by their life-stories in line with Cedar Lodge’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care. They involve families in care and activity planning to gain a personal understanding of what really matters to each resident and learn about their favourite pastimes and hobbies so they can tailor activities to suit their preferences.

We were called into the office and told what we thought would be the case that Mum has settled in and can be at times difficult. This we know.
She is always clean and tidy and comfortable and gives us no concern to her well-being.

I am very satisfied with my mother's treatment at Cedar Lodge. The staff are very caring and take the trouble to interact with her - everyone knows who she is. The overall atmosphere is excellent, with clean bright rooms, good food etc. and my mother gets good medical and nursing attention.


The

only real criticism I have concerns my mother's hearing aids. Despite several discussions and even emails, the staff do not regularly check the state of the appliances
( batteries wax build up etc.) which limits her communication and when we visit they are often not functioning. I am sad that this hasn't been addressed.


I feel that my mother is in a safe place and am grateful for the care she gets.

My mother was moved from another home in Ash Vale. Although the staff were very friendly, the home was poorly managed. Cedar Lodge also has very friendly and caring staff, but with the difference of being very well managed. I would recommend this home to anyone. It is excellent.

My mother was assessed very quickly and brought into the home with a minimum of fuss and a lot of kind attention both from nurses and carers. I feel happy that she is in a warm, comfortable place and that her needs are attended to in a kind respectful way enabling her to retain her dignity at the end
of her life.

The staff at Cedar Lodge are all very helpful and kind, always willing to listen to any concerns and requests and they cooperate and perform to the best of their ability. The standard of care is very good and everyone always friendly and welcoming.

I don't live in the area so would be unlikely to recommend the home to others.
It has taken many months to repair a lift, which causes problems at times. I feel that management are failing in some areas, the neglect of the lift being one obvious item. The staff appear attentive and responsive to all
enquiries made by myself.
My mother appears happier more recently with staff.

All staff helpful and welcoming at all times. Mum has been very well looked after. She enjoys having her hair and nails done each week. The medical care is excellent. She doesn't like some of the food but, is eating more since being at Cedar Lodge. She enjoys almost all of the entertainment. She likes
all the staff and says they are all very kind, she likes the cheeky ones!

In my personal opinion, Cedar Lodge is a very good home. I feel my mum is safe at Cedar Lodge and well looked after. There has always been an open door policy at Cedar Lodge. The staff and management have always been able to help with any problems we have experienced. They have a communication book
in the office and anything we have got the staff to write in it, it has always been done or sorted out. It would be very nice if Cedar Lodge could have access or even own a minibus so residents could go out on more day trips. They are always happier after a good day out! Residents and staff!

My father had been a resident in Cedar Lodge for two and a half years until his death earlier this month.
During that time he was treated with great care, affection and respect by the staff.
I liked the fact that there were few changes in personnel and this was down in no small part to the compassionate
leadership of the person promoted to manager during this time.
If you are looking for a caring, friendly and personal care home, where all residents are loved and valued, then I would highly recommend Cedar Lodge.
We will miss it hugely and its talented staff.

Cedar Lodge Nursing Home provides excellent care in my experience of regular visits to my father in the past two and a half years.
The staff are amazing there are plenty of carers around who sensitivity work hard to meet the needs of my father. There is a great continuity of care with so many staff
who work there for years and kindly get to know the residents.
The environment is relaxing and plenty of space and a lovely atmosphere as you walk through the door. I would highly recommend this home.

Mum went to Cedar Lodge in December for respite care after being discharged from hospital. This was very easy to arrange. She took a while to settle in as she was very independent and wanted to go back to her home garden.
From the day she arrived the staff couldn't have been nicer to her, nothing
was too much trouble, she had a lovely room. As her health deteriorated it was decided she would become a resident. Our mum has now sadly passed away but her family were really impressed with how she was treated in palliative care. All the kindness shown to us made a difficult time easier to deal with.

Cedar Lodge Nursing Home has always given my mum excellent care. All the staff are helpful and approachable if we have any concerns. There are many activities the residents can get involved in. The outside area has recently, over the past year, been improved making it a lovely place to sit or view from

Nenita Jopson

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2009

Nenita qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1990 in her native Philippines. She has worked all over the world, including nursing in hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Singapore, before moving to the UK in 2004. She began working at Forest Care as a Nurse and then progressing to Clinical Lead, Head of Care, Deputy Manager and now Registered Care Home Manager of Cedar Lodge.


Nenita’s hard-working nature and open-door policy gains respect from her staff, gives relatives peace of mind and enhances the lives of residents. She naturally leads her team by example in offering exemplary person-centred care to her service users, which her workforce reflects. in 2019, Nenita was selected as winner of the Frontline Leader of the Year at the Surrey Care Awards.

Florisa

Florisa Molera

Job Title: Head of Care Joined: 2008

Florisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has built up 17 years of experience working in the UK as a nurse in a variety of medical settings. Florisa has now been working at Cedar Lodge for 10 years and is our compassionate and dedicated Head of Care.


With an extensive background in nursing, Florisa is responsible for managing the clinical care of the residents in the home. This involves supervising the Nurses, Senior Carers and Carers to ensure residents receive person-centred care in accordance with their assessed needs and plans of care, along with focusing on their mental, physical and emotional well-being.

Jayne

Jayne Barker

Job Title: Home Administrator Joined: 2014

Jayne started working with us at Cedar Lodge in 2014 and has quickly become part of the team and is equally committed to ensuring each and every resident is happy and well looked after. Jayne is a passionate member of the team who is proud to work at Cedar Lodge.


As Administrator, Jayne is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functioning of the home and supporting Nenita to ensure everything happens as it should. This involves a variety of tasks such as employment checks, enquiry handling, show rounds and admissions, to being a point of contact for residents and relatives while dealing with their day-to-day requests.

Bhanu

Bhanu Morampudi

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2017

Bhanu has been working as a professional Chef for over 10 years.


For 3 years, Bhanu has worked at Cedar Lodge as our talented and passionate Head Chef. He works hard to develop a menu that is appealing to residents while focusing on their nutritional and dietary needs.


Bhanu brings his strong creative flair to work every day, presenting his food in artistic ways and making sure there is a strong colour balance on the plate. Cooking with seasonal fresh foods is important to Bhanu, who is passionate about caring for our residents through his meals.

David

David Fielding

Job Title: Maintenance Manager Joined: 2017

David is our Handyman who works very hard fixing things and making sure our home runs smoothly. This involves ensuring that any maintenance/repair works are carried out promptly and efficiently with minimum disturbance.


David is a wonderful support to the home and will often participate in special activities.

Wendy and Yumi Activities Team

Wendy and Yumi are our award-winning activities team. They excellently nurture residents’ social and mental well-being, alongside their physical care within the Activities they provide.


The activities team uses care plans and consider residents’ histories and hobbies to plan respectful activities that enhance lives, encourage socialisation and stimulate memories. This is an important part of our person-centred care.
