My mother was first in the normal unit, then when it became clear she was showing signs of dementia, she moved into the more secure dementia unit. She spent almost 2 years in the unit and died in her own room surrounded by kind and caring staff she thought of as family. My daughter and myself were made to feel as if it was our home too.

We miss them all now mum has gone. Her room was always clean and the plants watered. Mum's clothes were washed and kept clean. She always enjoyed her food and was fed by a carer as her sight was very poor. I can't thank the lovely staff enough.

Arrived by ambulance from hospital, the bed was not ready, had to wait with ambulance while a new mattress was obtained. Deposited in bed okay. Dressings on my heel fracture are roughly every 2 days and I wear a splint boot, so I am very comfortable after 4 weeks here.

Whilst my friend was there for end of life care, during the last few weeks of his life he was given the very best of care. All members of staff gave him his wife and friends all the care and support beyond duty. My friend, wife and friends were treated with dignity at all times. We have been told even after he died they would be there for us if we needed them. It has a wonderful, happy and serene atmosphere with a friendly smile and great understanding.
