Chestnut View

My Mother was admitted to Chestnut View on the 2nd of September 2026, she was very ill but the staff at Chestnut were very attentive and kind to mum. We were very impressed and would recomend the home to others. The room was very airie and nice, if only a little warm, the opening windows are restricted for safety reasons but this prevented air circulation a little. The En Suite facilities were very clean, etc

My mother came to Chestnut View early in April 2026. She was happy to be there and liked all the staff very much. I and my siblings were there with her almost every day she was there albeit on a rota and we saw first hand how much care she was given. She sadly passed away on July 9th 2026. I have nothing but praise and respect for the love, care and kindness all the staff gave her and us in her days there.

My mother went into Chestnut View care home in Haslemere in April 2026. She was there for 3 months until she died. The care she received from the nurses & carers there was wonderful. They were all so kind & caring right up until the end. They were also so kind & supportive to us her family. Highly recommend it & them. Thank you.

Seems a little under staffed at times. Food sometimes dry (lack of gravy). Some items of maintenance are a little slow at times.

Having been living in this nursing home for 8 months, I have found the carers kind, considerate, ultimately professional and perform their vocation with the utmost dedication and kindness. Their willingness to care at all times is paramount with a calm surring adding to the experience of the whole staff. All activities catered for with dedicated staff. A first class home.

Chestnut View has the most wonderful, kind and caring staff. Everyone has made my aunt feel so welcome and I always feel so welcome too. They really know their residents and families. My aunt feel so at home here and I feel safe in the knowledge she is being well cared for. Thank you to everyone.

My brother is receiving excellent nursing care from the very professional and friendly team. The rooms are very clean comfortable modern and cheery and the home has a lovely warm atmosphere. Lots of monthly planned activities if you want to join in and the staff are all top notch. The food served is very good with lots of choices my brother tells me it's delicious.

Carer's work very hard and have a good rapport with some of the and the staff also keep me in touch. The problem is they take to long answering buzzer. I feel her dignity could be better sometimes like clean bedding changed and clothes. I have only had to ask a couple of times for this to be done and they have come straight away. Feel bathroom and table in room could do wtih wiping over everyday and the bathroom a bit tidier and bags put in bins not just put at bottom of bins.

My wife has dementia and has been here 3 1/2 years so I know Chestnut View very well. As I could no longer manage at home I admitted myself one year ago. I have found all staff kind and they have shown much respect.

My father's health has deteriorated over the last year, but the staff have been brilliant at anticipating his needs. Their level of care has been excellent. It is obvious that it's not just a job, not just another resident, but they really care about all the residents they look after.

Dad moved to Chestnut View aged 97 in April 2025. Going from independance to a care home (via hospital stays) was very stressful to both him and me. But the dedication and kindness of the staff, from reception onwards, was imo, outstanding. The care staff were always cheerful and helpful and made proper connections with dad and his family. We are very grateful that he was so well looked after in his final months. There seemed to be a low turn over of staff which was comforting to dad.

I think I want my name down on the waiting list now. Thank you to all the staff for your care and devotion the the health and well being of my mother.

Wonderful caring staff. So attentive and always there to answer questions or help. Very good activities for the residents.

I am extremely grateful to the staff at Chestnut View who were both kind and caring. Their care made my mother's final months more bearable. She was treated with dignity, respect and compassion and we were welcomed at every visit.

I visited about a month ago and helped to feed my stepdaughter's Mother, I was amazed and delighted to see the liquid diet that she had. It was chicken, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots. It was piped on the plate and looked amazingly like a proper meal. I have been to many homes and seen the meals and this was the best I have ever seen.

On behalf of all of us, we cannot thank to the manager the staff and so many others for their care for our dad in the last few months of his life even taking the time at the end of their shifts on Dad's last day to say goodbye. He was treated with dignity, respect and compassion and as a family knowing he was cared for and genuinely looked after was a huge comfort at such a difficult time. We would not hesitate at all to recommend Chestnut View to anyone. Thank you.

Chestnut View has gone above and beyond to help him orientate in a different environment and provide him with a space where he feels at home, after a few weeks of respite care I'm confident he is settled and happy there.

My aunt was resident in Chestnut View Care Home for four years until her recent death. During that time, she received excellent care. The standards of the home were always excellent regarding care of the residents, cleanliness, housekeeping and catering. The carers were always attentive to her needs and ready with a cup of tea. As my aunt's next of kin, I was given regular updates on any changes in her state of health, changes in medication and her general condition. The staff were encouraging in making sure she was as active as possible and that she engaged with other residents. When my aunt was nearing the end of her life, the standard of care was exemplary, ensuring that, although usually in a coma and not responding, she was treated with respect and dignity. We could not have wished for anything more.

My experience of the nursing home is that they are very efficient, lovely staff and very caring. Have been very helpful in settling Mum in. Also helped me with social services. As you come into the entrance hall it is clean, airy and very welcoming. One staff member in particular has been particularly helpful in answering all my questions.
