Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge. Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

The home makes such a big effort in including family and friends at Christmas and BBQ in the summer. There are regular meetings too, which are very important. All in all, my mum is very happy.

Spent a great afternoon sat outside at a BBQ with my aunt, it was lovely for me to meet other residents and their families. All the food was cooked to perfection and everything, from burgers, to salad, to cakes, was very tasty. All the staff were happily mingling with all the residents, it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves. A lot of time and energy was put into making the afternoon a complete success. I think we all recognise how difficult it is making the decision to choose the right care home for your family member and to hopefully get the best care for them, especially if you’re not always locally enough to visit all the time. The home is well-run and clean and offers a huge number of activities but what stands out is, without doubt, the staffing team. Our family member is in the dementia unit but he also has nursing issues which are looked after too. He arrived in March and has been there five weeks and since he arrived he has been so well cared for. All the team from admin and reception to the nursing and care team have shown so much kindness, empathy and understanding not only to our family member but also to us, the family. As soon as you enter the home you are greeted with warmth and friendliness by all the staff - it has a very homely feeling. Our family member is always clean, tidy and smartly dressed - and is very happy.
Great home, fantastic management and overall excellent service, totally recommend. Residents are very well cared for and the staff are a pleasure to deal with while providing excellent care to the residents and our families.

Sadly I do not feel able to leave a positive review as my mother has not had the best experience at the home. I appreciate we were very fortunate to get a place during the first lockdown. On the whole, the staff are lovely.

My experience was that the staff at the home, in most cases, went out of their way to make my husband happy and comfortable during his stay but his deteriorating mobility made it difficult for them. Because he was not always able to go to the lounge for the activities he could not always have the interaction he needed, someone to come and talk to him more when he was bedbound (I visited him every day) and I know shortages of staff made this difficult and also Covid regulations. (Perhaps volunteer visitors now?).

My experience over the last three years is that the Chestnut View Care Home has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere! It has experienced the same problems as other nursing and care homes but can still welcome all visitors and the people being cared for in the home with a smile and a "hello"!
