My mother has been at Chestnut View for over eighteen months. She is settled and happy there. The carers and nursing staff are lovely, friendly and patient. They take time to talk to her, and visitors are made welcome too. She is confined to bed and completely reliant on care but has not had problems with bed sores, etc. and medically any problems are picked up quickly. Her room and other areas are kept clean. The room is bright and airy with a lovely view over the green.

Only criticism is the food which is not great, she requires a soft diet and daily receives the same unidentifiable pureed lumps which she dislikes, rather than mashed normal food which was provided in hospital and enjoyed. Have tried to get food improved but not succeeded!

Mum became a resident at Chestnut View Care Home just before Christmas 2015. Since then we have got to know the staff quite well. We are always greeted with a friendly smile whenever we visit in offers of tea/coffee and biscuits. Mum's room is light and clean and she has settled well.

The food is great and the menu varied with plenty of choices. There are plenty of day trips and activities including an "Abba" afternoon which was great fun. A big thank you from all the family for making such a high level of care and support to mum.

My aunt has been at Chesnut View for two years, suffering from mild learning needs and dementia as well as being in her late 80's. I have been very impressed with the standard of care provided, especially since there's been a new manager. My aunt is happy, well looked after and has plenty of activities and socialising on a regular basis. She enjoys her life, the carers always go the extra required to make activities suitable to all residents. The food is good, visitors are warmly welcomed (including pet dogs!) and you're always greeted on 1st name terms. Most importantly it is clear the staff do care about the happiness of their residents, which is the biggest positive for any relative.

My mum has been living at Chestnut View for about eighteen months, after transferring from another care home in the area. Since her arrival, the warmth and dignity she has received have been wonderful and extremely reassuring to me as I live far away. The staff are all so caring, patient and understanding and treat mum more like a friend than just a resident. And it’s the personal touches from the carers that I know mum really likes. Also, I’m made to feel really welcome, and able to talk and discuss with carers and nurses who I’ve got to know on first name terms. Chestnut View is a truly warm and delightful home, and I feel super grateful to all the terrific staff. Thank you!

My mother has been resident at Chestnut View for the last 18 months, moving from a smaller residential home after a fall and needing nursing care. She has been extremely well looked after by the staff and we have no worries about her care. The rooms are modern and well furnished and kept very clean. I would recommend Chestnut View unreservedly.

My father has lived in the home for about seven years in the residential area and has recently been transferred to the dementia unit. After an initial confusion, he has now settled into his new room and I believe it has given him a new boost, as he is encouraged to participate more in the activities on offer. We as a family, have always been very happy with Chestnut View and cannot commend the staff enough.

Since dad arrived here we have all been impressed with the care, support and excellent help he has received. All the staff are excellent and it would be nice for them all to know how much their support is to all of my dads family.
Dad enjoys his days here and is always complimentary of his food, outings and help/support given to him.

Many thanks to everyone.

What a wonderful care/nursing home. My husband has been cared and loved by these wonderful people for over 2 and a half years now. They are all like my extended family. I have recently had to make the decision to place my mother who is 97 into a care home and there could only be one choice for our family and this is the best choice "Chestnut View" Haslemere. Outstanding care and love from the manager and all her staff. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I came to the Chestnut View Care Home last October from the hospital on palliative care due to a liver failure. My two daughters told me that the specialist at the hospital had given me about 2 weeks to live. Due to the fantastic care is given to me in this care home and the marvellous food, my appetite improved and my liver and kidney readings improved. After that, I was diagnosed with cancer of the right tonsil, had 5 radiotherapy treatments and I can walk now! This Chestnut View Care Home is absolutely brilliant in all ways and my two daughters help is very valuable as well. I'd give this care home 1000% out 100%

This home in the beginning of my aunts care which was four years ago was good, due to several changes of management it was poor. The new manager has picked the place back up to it's initial good standard. The staff have been excellent and some should be commended very caringly indeed.
