Coxhill Manor is a characterful country house benefiting from a peaceful and secluded location on the outskirts of Chobham, Woking. The Nursing home is ideally placed to meet residents’ changing care needs, providing the highest standard of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 52 residents, including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and permanent care for individuals or couples.

This fine Victorian home has been sympathetically converted and includes a number of delightful garden rooms, affording wonderful views over the landscaped grounds. Specialist interior design helps to ensure that residents are able to move freely around the home, with bedrooms and communal areas appropriately laid out and clearly signposted to minimise confusion and aid orientation.

They have their own dementia training, which highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, in addition to addressing clinical aspects of care. This specialist training provides the hospitality team and chefs with the skills and knowledge to stimulate senses and increase creativity in the cooking and presentation of food. This can provide a much-improved dining experience for residents living with dementia and or dysphagia.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary so Coxhill Manor Nursing and Residential Home arranged for me to lunch with him. I was amazed on arrival to find the staff had prepared a special table with flowers, silver confetti, prosecco and a card from him to me! He has Alzheimer's
and vascular dementia and they turned a difficult day into an exciting celebration. He was also in a group visit to a local airfield he used to fly from as a pilot and the staff made great efforts to ensure he could enjoy the day and put pictures on the app for family to see.
This is what 'caring' really means. Excellent. Congratulations to all.

My dad has recently passed away peacefully at Coxhill. We have been absolutely delighted with his care, on all levels. The staff were amazing and my brother and I always felt very appreciative of what they did for Dad. I would have no hesitation in recommending.

During the pandemic, the management and staff have been amazing. Our mother (resident) has been well cared for throughout. We have had no cause to be concerned, whilst it has been difficult not to have face to face visits, facetime and zoom meetings have been most welcome.

From the moment you arrive at Coxhill Manor, this beautiful inviting manor house gives you the impression that you have arrived at a very lovely country house hotel, not a nursing home! Rather than being clinical and stark, it gives you the feeling of comfort, cosiness and nurturing.
The staff are
wonderful and genuinely very kind, caring, helpful, patient and truly heartfelt. My dear mum is always telling me how lovely they all are, and you can't ask for more than that! When I visit Mum, she always looks very happy and content, which gives us, as a family, great peace of mind.
My only negative comment is that the "powers that be" do tend to creep the price up rather too frequently. Apart from that "grumble", I would highly recommend Coxhill Manor.

It is extremely well run with fantastic staff who care for my mother brilliantly. The nursing care is second to none with all the carers genuinely wanting to help the residents. The activities on offer are great with all residents encouraged to participate. Also Mum loves the food. It makes me happy
as she is so happy.

My mother has been at the care home for one year. Initially very disturbed and unhappy. However, Coxhill managed the situation very well, together with a private psychiatrist. Now more settled, my mother remains in her room most of the time, well looked after by nurses/carers.

My 90-year-old mother came for respite care and is now a resident. Both she and I are very happy with the care she is receiving. My husband also goes to the home twice a week for daycare and enjoys his days very much. The staff are so friendly and caring, and the house and grounds are a pleasure to
be in.

My father required urgent respite care, once nursed and cared for it was clear he could not return home so became a permanent resident. The care support and kindness shown to him has been outstanding. He is treated with dignity and always asked what he would prefer I need. There is a very harmonious
atmosphere all around too.

When faced with finding a care home with nursing for my husband, having looked at a few already, the moment I walked in through the front door into reception, I knew this was where I would like my husband to be. It just seemed so warm and welcoming, in fact just like home from home. I believe the care
and nursing my husband received during his stay extended his life by nearly 3 years instead of the poor prognosis initially of 12 weeks. I now volunteer on a weekly basis having made so many friends there.

My cousin (92) has been suffering from dementia for about 18 months and in January 2018, it was decided that home help was no longer a feasible option.
My wife and I received a number of recommended homes in the North Surrey area and chose Coxhill Manor on the high quality of the facilities, the excellent
staff and management and their attention to all the residents of the home. My cousin has settled in well, despite not being the easiest person to satisfy.

My mother came to Coxhill Manor in September 2017 as she was unable to live independently due to dementia. I have found the staff to be so supportive both to myself and my mother at a difficult time. The atmosphere is so friendly and cheerful and I normally leave here with a smile on my face as I know
mum is in excellent hands.

Mum was supposed to only be here for a few months following being seriously ill. Two years and a bit on we are all still here and that must be a testament to the good care Mum has received.
All the staff here excel in their given roles, from the manager to the lovely ladies who do all the washing,
the carers and the activities staff are kind and gentle and the nursing staff are very professional.
The accommodation is comfortable and the garden beautiful. Plus the meals are very good.

My mother came in for respite care following a fall and chest infection. She was unhappy about being admitted and was very negative towards the staff, who managed her intelligently and cheerfully. She made major improvements in her health while she was there and returned home after just over a fortnight.
As family members, we felt able to visit whenever we wanted and to discuss mother's care with all the staff, who welcomed our interest and intervention.
Pleasant surroundings; cheerful, positive staff.

Mum seems very happy here. Staff are very caring and interested in the residents. They treat the residents as individuals and constantly invite feedback in order to implement the wishes of those in their care often small things make a difference, mum likes to wear makeup and jewellery but is now unable
to do this for herself the staff ensure this is in place, mum likes a glass of wine with a meal and all residents haver a choice of wine with each meal. The entertainment team work hard to provide a varied programme. Communication is very good and we feel well informed of mums health and welfare she is unable to tell us very much herself. As a family, we are made to feel very welcome at whatever time we visit. Mum settled in very quickly due to the friendliness of everyone at Coxhill Manor.

The care my mother receives at Coxhill Manor provides me with the reassurance that she is cared for and her needs are all met. The staff are so welcoming and thoughtful and do the little extras that make them more friendly than carers. The facilities, food, activities and nursing care are all excellent
and I have no concerns recommending Coxhill Manor and the good work of the manager.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.985)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.985) out of 10 for Coxhill Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.985 for Coxhill Manor is calculated as follows: ( (258 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 262 Ratings = 4.985
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Coxhill Manor is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
