This home is exceptionally well run and the staff, whatever their role may be, are all devoted, in their care of all the residents. I never have any worries about my aged mother as I know she is being well looked after and is in the safest place she can be. This is particularly the case during the present
COVID-19 pandemic as all the staff have stepped up and have been magnificent in maintaining the highest level of care to all the residents. I cannot praise them highly enough.

I have found all of the staff to be kind and considerate and helpful. They look after my husband extremely well. He has a variety of medical needs and I know he feels very well cared for. He settled here very quickly and that is due to the staff here.

I would highly recommend Cranmer Court. My sister has come here for 4 weeks for 'end of life' care.

The staff are very friendly - from the cleaners right up to the matron/managers.

Your room is yours and you can make it your own with bits and pieces from home.

The level of nursing care is

to a high standard.

A "home" is an institution which has been beleaguered by many scandals, outrages and whitewashes over generations since the "workhouse". As lasting attorneys for a loved one, we ventured into this unknown territory with considerable trepidation, foreboding and suspicion. The panacea for all our concerns
has proved to be Cranmer Court with its modern tailor made facilities, reassuringly professional staff with a "can do" attitude and an engaging team spirit which delivers firm and friendly service. Flexible care and responsive attention within a professional and transparent framework, regularly monitored and reviewed with the full involvement of patients and relatives, has been clearly demonstrated. Comfort, safety, diet and medical care are ingrained into the DNA of the establishment and programmes for socialising and community involvement is there with no duress. It's desirable, accessible location with free car parking, regular bus services and well-maintained grounds make Cranmer court a relaxed "home from Home" which is subtly secure. When hiccups have occurred the response has been equal to a quality hotel.

My mother lived at Cranmer Court for 15 months. All the staff we met were friendly and caring and very patient. Mum was able to join in activities when she wanted to or remain in her room if she preferred. Her room was well-equipped with an ensuite shower. Visiting times were almost unrestricted and
the whole home always looked and smelt clean. The staff knew all the residents by name and we were always made to feel welcome whenever we visited and I think Mum enjoyed living there.

My mother in law has been in Cranmer Court for three weeks and in all that time one of the two lifts has been out of order.
The second lift is now also not working which means we have to try to get her down the stairs. Please spend some money and fix the lifts.
However, the staff and care have been
really good.
However, the lift situation does mean we can't always get her downstairs as the alternative would scare her.
Reply from Norah Davies, Home Manager at Cranmer CourtThank you for taking the time to review Cranmer Court, we really appreciate your feedback. We are delighted both you and your relative have found the care and the staff at Cranmer Court to be ‘really good’ during your stay. Unfortunately we have had issues with our lifts and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. The faults have been dealt with and both our lifts are now in working order. If you would like to discuss any matters with our home manager her door is always open and relatives are welcome to see her at any time.

I feel blessed to have found a nursing home where the staff genuinely care about the residents. The manager is hard working, hands-on, professional and friendly. The team that has been recruited is exceptional - all staff in all departments work hard, are friendly and compassionate. Relatives are made
to feel welcome 24/7.

Clean rooms, freshly laundered clothes and bedding always, service with a smile, DIY issues rectified immediately, food choice extensive, care first class, manager exceptional, concierge wonderful. First impressions amazing and we have no complaints.

My mother was at Cranmer Court for a little over 2 years. She suffered from dementia. Throughout that time, she received wonderful care and attention from all the staff - even when she was a little difficult. In her own words "I cannot fault this place". I would have no hesitation in recommending Cranmer
Court.

My father became a resident at Cranmer Court in May 2016 after a 4 months hospitalisation due to bacterial sepsis. Although in the recovery period he was still extremely weak, requiring full nursing care to deal with his physical and emotional needs. However, the nature of his illness indicated that
it was possible that he could make a full recovery and we chose Cranmer Court as it gave us the option of continuing nursing care if he did not improve, to preparing him to leave and live independently. Cranmer Court staff excelled taking my father from a frail, vulnerable, uncooperative newcomer to gaining strength in body and mind. My father left Cranmer Court in September 2016 and has returned to a happy independent life with his wife. We cannot thank them enough for giving our father his life back.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.741)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.741) out of 10 for Cranmer Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.741 for Cranmer Court is calculated as follows: ( (212 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 274 Ratings = 4.741
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cranmer Court is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
