Downsvale Nursing Home

My mother was a resident for four years until she passed away. As a family, we feel so lucky to have found Downsvale Nursing Home. The staff are brilliant, they took such care and looked after my mother so very well. When she arrived at Downsvale, after being in the hospital, she wasn't in a good way but with their wonderful care she gradually improved for a while. We can never thank Downsvale Nursing Home and their very wonderful and caring staff.

When we were searching for a care home for our mother, our number one choice was Downsvale, as we had previously experienced the care given there through an aunt and family friend. Mum was a resident for less than three months but during that period the kindness, care, attention and professionalism shown to her by all the staff were outstanding and as her health deteriorated the staff provided warmth, understanding and support to my sisters and me that helped in our eventual loss of her.

My mother is a resident at Downsvale Nursing Home and her care is of excellent quality. She has been given very good attention as she is in palliative care and the staff are very friendly and patient with her. Highly recommended.

He is clean, well-fed and cared for which provides peace of mind for us as a family.

I visited several care/nursing homes before selecting Downsvale. From my first point of contact, the management team made this new journey for our family incredibly simple, efficient and proactive, rare qualities indeed in these current times. I was kept informed of all developments between the hospital and the care home at the point of discharge. The home is filled with caring, helpful and friendly staff from the care team up to management level. The accounts team held my hand through all the form filling, explaining everything clearly and succinctly. As a family we are all thrilled with the care our stepfather-in-law is receiving. The rooms, bathrooms and common areas are spotless. There is always a selection of refreshments easily accessible in his room with easy to pick up and hold beakers. The room is airy, spacious, light, a perfect temperature and all the facilities our step-father requires are catered for. Can call for updates anytime. Brilliant care home. Thank you.

Our parents have been residents for five months and counting, and have always been treated with courtesy and respect. The staff have always ensured that their safety and well being is paramount and have been swift to bring in medical intervention when needed. The result is that our parents are content in their surroundings.

I cannot speak too highly of the staff at Downsvale. From the first meeting, they were kind, concerned and caring. They not only were wonderful and patient with my husband who had dementia but would always ask after my welfare. I was happy to leave my husband in their care, knowing he was well cared for gave me great peace of mind.

Extremely responsive management team - very willing to adapt the room to suit Mum before arrival. Very good and timely communication. All the staff are so kind, considerate and caring - call bell is always left with Mum and mostly very quick responses to calling. Mum's care needs were individualised - adaption to supper time, discussed preferred bedtime around staff handover. I would have no hesitation in recommending this extremely kind team to care for your relative.

Nothing is ever too much trouble. Mum, although confused, speaks of how ‘lovely and kind’ everyone is to her. I could not ask for better care for Mum. Her face lights up when staff talk to her and give her such kind attention. For me this is priceless. Thank you.

Although a bit time consuming it is good to see the necessary Covid tests are diligently carried out before entry can be made. A sure sign they are looking after their residents and staff alike.

My father requires full nursing care. He has lived at Downsvale Nursing Home for the last year. I have been impressed with the level of care and attention all the staff, who I have met, give to him. They got to know his likes/dislikes quickly, so they could help him to settle in and be comfortable. I am kept informed if there are any concerns from the team. My father appears comfortable and well looked after.

My wife suffers from Alzheimer's and she has been at Downsvale Nursing Home for nearly two years and she has had good protection and care performed by the staff and management of the home. The whole of the home is geared up to assist and care for the residents and their needs and concerns.

My father has been in Downsvale Nursing Home since March 2020 and I feel he has been very well looked after. The staff are kind and caring. I have never had cause to complain. They show excellent compassion to the families of their residents. They coped very well during Covid.

As a visitor, I have always found the staff friendly and approachable.

Downsvale Nursing Home is providing excellent, dignified care to my mother. She says she feels contented, which, considering how fiercely independent Mum was is high testament to the care she receives.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Attention to my phone calls is always excellent. The care of my cousin seems to be very good. The meals seem to be good and accommodate taste and needs.

Despite the lockdown over the past year, the staff rolled out the red carpet for my mother's hundredth birthday last September, which was enjoyed by all. Communication with the home is very good. Life has not been easy for anyone over the past year, and I am relieved she was in the best place possible. Staff are very caring and helpful.

Mum is very settled here.
