It is very reassuring to know that Mum is being so well cared for in such difficult times. She speaks very highly of the exceptionally kind staff and is unable to nominate anyone for an award as they are all so good.

On discharge from the hospital following a fall and breaking her hip, the hospital said our friend must go to a care home as she is unable to look after herself anymore. We visited various homes in the area and the surrounding area to find one that would be most suitable for our friend and would enable
us to visit her. Epsom Beaumont Care Home seemed to tick all the boxes we were looking for to ensure she would be happy. We definitely made the right choice as the staff and activities are all very, very good, and the home's atmosphere is such that all the residents settle in well and do like it; our friend does too. We have no hesitation in recommending it as it has met all our expectations and the management ensure newsletters and updates regularly, which are excellent to keep in contact.
Reply from Mark Chakravarti, General Manager at Barchester Epsom Beaumont Care HomeThank you for your lovely feedback. I feel very proud of my team and the effort they have put in during this outbreak. Stay safe, and we will continue to make improvements when needed.

Epsom Beaumont is a small care home with a homely environment.
It is extremely well managed, and the staff and carers are dedicated, and pleasant.
They treat the residents with respect and take care and time to meet their individual needs.
The garden and patio area is very pleasant, and the flowers
and hanging baskets, are always well maintained, adding to the home feel of the place.
The meals are freshly cooked and are healthy and nutritious.
The activities here are wonderful, they try to incorporate all residents, despite their limitations. The activities are varied, and everyone is encouraged to join in, or purely be involved by watching, if they don't want to partake of activities. This way, they still have some stimulation.
We are so grateful that we found this care home.
Reply from Mark Chakravarti, General Manager at Barchester Epsom Beaumont Care HomeThank you, Janet, for your kind words, thank you for the lovely wishes to all my team. We will continue delivering good care for your mother and keep making improvements when needed. Wish you and your family stay safe.

My mum has been in the Epsom Beaumont care home for about 6 months now and she is very happy, very well looked after.
She suffers from Vascular dementia and this condition is very well taken care of as well as all of her needs.

The care home is extremely well presented and always very welcoming,

clean, and tidy. My mother's room is of an extremely high standard and has all she needs and is just like a home from home.

The staff at the home are always welcoming of any visitors and cannot do enough for you to make sure you feel comfortable while visiting.

During the lock-down period, We have not been allowed to visit the home due to safety reasons. The home has ensured that I have received a face-time call most days to keep me and mum in touch and to ensure she is okay.

I cannot praise the home and staff highly enough and would recommend the home to anyone.

Reply from Mark Chakravarti, General Manager at Barchester Epsom Beaumont Care HomeThank you, Valerie, for your lovely feedback. This is very helpful to my team, who keep making improvements with all your feedback.

A good looking comfortable home with some standout common rooms (although it is fair to say that an additional common room or just a couple of small additional seating areas would be welcome). There is also a fabulous garden, spacious, well maintained and a great paved area for sitting outside in the
summer. Staff are welcoming and nearly always cheerful with many (when time permits) willing to go the 'extra mile' to try and make residents more comfortable. Menu seems varied and the food is often very good. Activities are often varied (opera singers, dance classes, slow yoga etc). An effort is made to involve families in the home and its running with events such as regular Q&A and feedback sessions together with BBQs and so on.
It would be nice if more outside trips could be organised for residents although I appreciate this can be a logistical challenge. Because part of the home is Grade 2 listed (which means it looks lovely) updating and maintaining can be a challenge.

My mother is a resident here, the carers are fabulous, I cannot fault them. However, as for management, that is completely different. All I will say is be mindful of how you talk to the general manager in particular, he is aggressive and does not mix his words. Walking into the care home, it looks fabulous
here, but please if you leave a loved one as a resident here, look beyond the first floor and explore the building as a whole.
Reply from Mark Chakravarti, General Manager at Barchester Epsom Beaumont Care HomeWe are sorry you are not happy with the management as you have mentioned, we have tried to contact you by phone and email so we can discuss any concerns you may have at Epsom Beaumont. However, you have not answered or responded to our emails or letters.

The health and well being of all our residents is our absolute priority and our staff have continued training in order to provide this. Please feel free to contact the home manager or our Regional Director if you wish to discuss any of the points raised in more detail. thank you for letting us know that the care team do a fabulous job, you mention facilities and safety is very poor but your mother is looked after in a secured unit, we have just completed and refurbished the unit and all our residents are safe and secure, we apologise if there was any misunderstanding as you selected the home for your mother and every time we have seen you, you have confirmed to the team that you are very pleased how the staff are looking your mother. If there is anything we can do, please let us know and we will try to address it.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.736)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.736) out of 10 for Barchester Epsom Beaumont Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.736 for Barchester Epsom Beaumont Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (273 Excellents x 5) + (86 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 364 Ratings = 4.736
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Epsom Beaumont Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
