St George’s is a purpose-built dementia care home. The home is dedicated to caring for adults living with dementia, from early onset to more complex end-of-life needs, the home provides all types of dementia care including nursing, residential, Parkinson’s and short-stay care.

The home has its own dementia champions who work to improve the quality of life for residents through daily activities and opportunities for reminiscence and stimulation. Furthermore, everything at St George’s is on one floor, making it easier for residents to find their way around. The home’s interior has been decorated to suit individuals with dementia, being colour-themed and including memory triggers.

The home has a home for home atmosphere, pleasant communal areas, and a secure well-maintained courtyard garden, it provides a relaxing living environment. The home also benefits from its on-site pub, hairdressers and tea hut for all to enjoy.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, the majority lead out to the garden or courtyard area and all come with a 24-hour call system.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients. Soon after a resident arrives at St George’s, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether loved ones already have a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in. Anyone is welcome to pop in and join in.

The staff at St George's are always so welcoming, and all at the home have coped really well with the pandemic. I know that my mum is really happy and comfortable at St George's, which, especially during the pandemic when we have not been able to see each other, has given me great comfort. The home
is always very clean and tidy - and my mum is a fan of the food!

My wife had been a resident of St George's for almost seven years. Prior to the pandemic, I was a regular visitor, spending several hours a day with her in the lounges. I got to know the staff fairly well, and they were always welcoming to me and really attentive to my wife. The activities staff also
seemed to go out their way to include her on outings and other programmes of events. It was October last year that marked the start of a very difficult time for her as ongoing health issues necessitated hospital stays on three occasions, each one taking its toll on her. The caring staff in the peaceful haven that is St George's went out of their way to care for her after each stay as the personal care in the hospital was sadly lacking. With visiting limited, we regularly attempted Skype calls, and various staff members would take the tablet to her. Unfortunately, she was often sleepy, and if we got a cheeky smile from her, it was a massive bonus. No praise is too high for St George's and its staff.

My brother and I have been very happy with the care provided for our father. Our interactions with the care home and staff have all been during the current pandemic and various levels of lockdown, but we have been impressed with the efforts made by the staff not only from the care side but also on how
they have engaged with us. Communication is very good, including regular photographs of the residents on the private Facebook page. We take great comfort from the fact that our father is safe and seems happy.

My husband was welcomed into this home as though he was a family member. It was a distressing time for all of us, but we instantly felt that he was entering a really safe place where he would receive excellent care. Throughout his short stay, he was treated so well by all the staff especially his nurse
who knew immediately when he needed to go to hospital. She kept in close contact with me during the time he was in hospital to make sure that I was alright as well. All the staff, from Reception to the Manager have been really supportive and I am so grateful for the care they gave to my husband.

Mum has been a resident at St George's for over 5-years, and during this time, she has been treated with the utmost respect, kindness and support. The staff are amazing when dealing with all the residents.
Not only during Covid 19, but the home always keeps us informed about what is happening to Mum's
health and wellbeing.
Mum is now quite unwell, and the house manager very kindly with permission allowed my brother and me to see Mum for the first time in nearly 4-months due to Covid19. We were socially distanced from her, but it meant the world to us to be able to see her.

I had no hesitation in applying to St. George’s when my mum required help in her day to day life after my dad was there for five years and looked after so well. I think it says a lot when most of the staff are still the same ones after so many years. I would like to thank them all for their hard work

St Georges care home is a wonderful place to stay for people with mental problems, my husband had Alzheimer's and stayed 9-10-17 to 22-02-18 when he passed away. The staff are very caring to all making sure the relatives are happy with the care for their loved ones. I would like to thank them for looking
after my husband and keeping him safe along with keeping his morale up along with mine. The home has a wonderful welcoming feeling and nothing is too much trouble for them.

My father has been a resident for 18 months. His overall care is good. The staff are caring and considerate with a few individuals providing excellent care. Staff at times are overstretched especially at weekends. The management team are extremely approachable. There is room for improvement in the general
decoration and cleanliness. More varied activities are required.

My sister has been in the home for 8 years. She has had excellent caring over this time and the nursing care has been wonderful. The management staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The chef and kitchen staff produce excellent food - well done.

Staff are kind and caring and seem to take a real interest in the residents, getting to know them and all their likes and dislikes. The home is warm and cheerfully decorated with plenty of activities but no pressure to join in if the resident wants quiet time.

My mother has been a resident at St George's care home for seven and a half years, every time I visit, which is weekly, I always find the home a clean and welcoming place. The staff are always courteous and efficient and they all know how to look after each resident and their various needs depending
on their individual levels of care required. My mum is always neatly presented even though she can't do much for herself. The food is of a very high standard and there is a wide range of activities provided by the home (ie singing, animal petting).

I have found the advantage of having a fully trained nurses to solve heart problems and how to treat them. They keep records of progress etc. The carers and staff are marvellous, kind and know their job well.

I worked with the NHS at East Surrey Hospital for almost 3 years and during the initial covid pandemic. I recently left there and joined this fabulous team at St Georges.

My other jobs include working as a nursery assistant for local childcare providers and I was also a civil servant, working for the Inland Revenue.


I love my job - it is varied and each day is vastly contrasting. I work with a very effective team who all bring different qualities and strengths to the department. Ultimately as a team, we all work together to enrich the resident’s lives which is of course our central goal.
