Holly Lodge is a dementia care home, offering tranquillity, luxury living and security for up to 60 residents living with dementia.

Winner of ‘Nursing Home of the Year’ at the Surrey Care Awards 2022 and featured in Knight Frank’s Luxury Care Home Guide for three years running; 2021, 2022 and 2023. It was described as ‘Heartwarming’ by Caring UK Award Judges and praised for their daily goal of making residents and relatives smile and putting the needs of people with dementia at the heart of the home.

Innovatively designed to enhance multi-sensory stimulation and encourage reminiscence, Holly Lodge accommodates people living with different types of dementia at every stage of their journey, offering both residential dementia care and nursing dementia care on a permanent and respite basis.

There are spacious, bright and homely communal areas for entertaining and dining, a dedicated activities room, on-site hair salon, pub, gallery, family room, cinema, and alcove lounges for residents and their loved ones to enjoy. Landscaped gardens provide outdoor spaces for relaxation, complete with a sensory garden.

Compassionate and experienced staff are trained in specialist dementia care, complementary therapies and on-site dedicated dementia care nurses 24-hours a day.

This ensures every resident is happy, secure, and fulfilled in their day-to-day life. The activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences. Activities are multi-sensory, designed to alleviate dementia symptoms; helping to improve concentration and communication, encouraging reminiscence and social interaction.

Staff always friendly whatever time one visits and always offer refreshments to visitors. Rooms and other areas clean and tidy with pictures and items of interest for residents on display. My mother seems very happy and relaxed whenever I visit.

My mother resided at Holly Lodge for two years and another Forest Care home for 12months prior to that.
I can only describe the care and support provided to my mother as excellent. The care team, beginning with the home manager and through senior staff to all carers, were first class. All aspects
of the home gave family members confidence, including medical care, meals and diet, all activities plus ensuring the family were informed and advised whenever an issue arose.
The homes interaction with other agencies, such as doctors surgery, local hospitals, the local council specialist teams was also first class. Even when my mother reached end of life care, palliative care, home staff were insistent that my mother came 'home' to be with friends.

Holly Lodge Nursing Home continues to provide a high level of care for its residents, whatever their condition or situation.
The staff are excellent and continue on a day to day basis to show both a gentle and caring approach to the residents, whatever the challenges they may pose.

The home ticks all the right boxes. We looked at 14 other homes in the local area. Mum has been with you for nearly 4 years and is always clean and tidy and well-kempt. My father was admitted with challenging behaviour. The staff were extremely professional and helped on day one of my father's admission which had been a difficult time for the family. In the initial stages, there were some "settling in" which was challenging for the staff to get to know my father and
him, them. The manager of the home at Holly Lodge took on concerns on board as did the nursing staff and kept us informed and showed sensitivity and care during the initial stages of the settling in period. Thereafter, the lessons learnt seemed to have been applied consistently and to date, my father seems content and happy at the home. The nurses and carers are respectful of my father and other residents for that matter and their care seems genuine and not just "playing to the crowd" when we visited or when other relatives of the residents are present. We hope that the good standard of genuine care and respect at the home continues for as long as my father remains in their care.

My mother receives excellent care and is well looked after. I would hope to receive similar treatment if I required it later in life. The staff to resident ratio is very good and the home is always clean and tidy.

Holly Lodge aims very high in standards of nursing, activity and pastoral care and has created a family atmosphere to include relatives and visitors if they so wish. Every member of staff contributes to the team strength and every resident is treated as a unique individual. After over 7 years of visiting,
I will miss them. Funding of dementia care is a serious issue nowadays but the residential care of the quality offered by Holly Lodge should be made available for all dementia sufferers.

Holly Lodge Nursing Home provides specialist care for people living with dementia. It is a purpose built nursing home and very close to where I live. My wife has only been there for 4 months. The staff are always caring and understanding. At present, I have no complaints.

My husband could not have received better care if he had been royalty.
He was only in the home for a few weeks but he settled well, was always looked after and cared for and the staff treated him with full dignity at all times. My only regret is that he was admitted to hospital for 2 weeks and on my
insistance was returned to the above home. His care in hospital was not up to the standard of care received in Holly Lodge.


We were kept informed at all times and my daughter and myself were able to be present at his end. He died with dignity and pain-free. I could not have asked for anything more.


As I am retired district nurse I have been into a number of nursing homes in this area and Holly Lodge comes out top.

My mother arrived in Holly Lodge after a 3 hour ambulance journey. She was tired and emotional in spite of the excellent care given by the private ambulance crew.
She settled in physically quickly, though and was looked after caring and sensitively until she passed away two months later.

My brother was moved from a home where he was not looked after and when we visited him he seemed withdrawn and sad. Since he has been here, we've noticed the lovely change in him. I came to view Holly Lodge for my father-in-law. I was so pleasantly surprised with the staff, the facilities and the carer ratio. Holly Lodge is like Hotel not a home. The administrator was so accommodating to me, calling and arranging my father-in-laws transfer ran smoothly. I know he will be well
cared for and happy, which is all I ask for. Thanks to you all for helping to settle my father-in-law in. It made a difficult decision much easier. I would recommend Holly Lodge happily to anyone.

I looked around Holly Lodge with my wife and my brother. I was so surprised at how clean the home was. The staff are so friendly. As a volunteer I am always impressed with how I am welcomed with my dog Tizzy. We have been visiting for the past three years and enjoy seeing the residents. Rico finished his degree of Business Administration Major in Management in 2001 in the Philippines. He has always worked in the care industry particularly with Dementia since 2006. Rico has also studied Health and Social Care NVQ level 3 and 4 and participated in various training and workshops related to care and Dementia.
Rico is very passionate about making a difference in the lives of our residents especially with Dementia and likes to be positive in approaching any challenges.
Being a manager, Rico is very approachable. He ensures that the home delivers a compassionate and high quality of care with a homely atmosphere. As a leader, he leads by example and supports the staff in maximising their strengths and potentials.

Holly Lodge welcomed Sandra to the team in 2018 as our weekend administrator. Sandra quickly became a great advocate of the care provided at Holly Lodge along with the family atmosphere the home creates.

Bea is our talented Chef at Holly Lodge who ensures residents enjoy a varied menu focusing on the nutritional needs of our residents. Bea has over 10 years of experience working as Head Chef in the care sector.


Having joined the Holly Lodge team in 2015, Bea quickly made an impression on residents, relatives and staff. The food she cooks is appetising, nutritional and commended by all. She also regularly goes above and beyond for resident’s special occasions.

Our dedicated and experienced nursing team is responsible for managing the clinical care of our residents at Holly Lodge focusing on their holistic care, which includes their mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.


This involves administering medication, working with our home GP and supporting senior carers and carers to ensure residents receive person-centred care in accordance with their assessed needs and plans of care.
