A lovely home with access to a safe garden where residents can watch the birds in the aviary. In good weather, activities can be held outside under the sun shades and gazebo. The carers are very experienced and both floors have senior carers which are very approachable and willing to help with any problem. The staff ratio to residents means there is always someone visible on duty.
Nurses and management are very approachable and open to ideas from family and visitors.

A great family room to hold get-togethers/birthdays, makes life seem a bit more normal when your loved one is unable to leave the premises and join other family members for celebrations. Birthdays are always recognised with a lovely cake made by the wonderful catering staff.

The staff at Holly Lodge are friendly. It’s a clean and homely care home and the services provided are excellent. When we mentioned about the food not being quite as hot as it could be, they instantly took it away and reheated it.

Holly Lodge Nursing Home always feels homely to me. The staff are always nice and pleasant. The staff always ask myself or my daughter if we would like a cup of tea or coffee always a piece of cake or biscuits. The manager is always nice if we have any issues he sorts it out right away.

It is a very difficult decision for any family: to relocate a relative into a care home. My sister and I were no different, and we struggled with guilt and worry. It's been nearly a year since our father moved into Holly Lodge and we have now come to terms with it.
We have been so fortunate in finding such a wonderful place. All of my predetermined ideas of a dementia home have been dispelled. Holly Lodge is bright, airy, clean and has a lovely atmosphere.
The family friendly ethos of the company flows from the managers and senior staff through to all of the nurses, carers and support staff. We are quite happy now as we feel that Dad is now safe, and well looked after. His quality of life and safety have improved no end. The staff are all so caring and the catering is wonderful, benefiting him enormously. To quote dad "it's like living in a five star hotel"!

We have no hesitation to recommend Holly Lodge to anyone in the same unfortunate position as we have been.

Mum and Dad are very well cared for at Holly Lodge and their needs are met in a person-centred way. All staff are pleasant and friendly. They are very quick to respond to residents' needs especially if they are at risk, for example of falls. The cooking is excellent and staff do their utmost to ensure everyone eats a nutritious and appropriate diet. Activities are varied, with regular visits from entertainers from outside the home. The standard of cleanliness is very high. As a visitor, I have always felt very welcome there. This is an expensive home but I think this is reflected in the high number of staff and their very high quality.

My father has been at Holly Lodge since March 2018, they are welcoming from the moment you go in the door. I have always found them very caring and knowledgable. The staff get to know the residents' preferences and treat them with dignity at all times. Nothing is too much trouble, from the management team and every member of staff whatever their role. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and laundry is done on site. The food is very varied and alternatives available at every meal time. My father is eating more now and enjoying his food again. There is a varied programme of activities if the residents wish to join in. Holly Lodge has very well maintained gardens which are used regularly, residents, family and friends are welcome to use any time. My father is very settled and content at Holly Lodge and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others in similar circumstances.

Holly Lodge is welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. The staff are caring regarding helping to choose nice outfits, including jewellery and reading glasses, for my mum to wear. They bring her a newspaper each weekday. Her bedroom is always spotlessly clean and the decor is warm and cheerful. The nurses are very well organized with any appointments such as regular doctors appointments, it takes the worry off the family. They consistently report back to us as needed, when we cannot attend. We have the same nursing team that we started in 2016, there is very low turnover. Our family are extremely grateful for excellent support when my father passed away (also at Holly Lodge) they gave us good advice at a difficult time.
The administration and invoicing have been efficient and caring, with no unexpected surprises, we are happy with that.

The staff are anxious to listen, and implement any agreed changes quickly, with good documentation into the Care Plan.

Holly Lodge is a very caring and professional nursing home and my mother has lived there for 6 years. She is treated with dignity, encouraged to join in the various activities provided to stimulate her and is happy in herself, as well as she can be with Alzheimer's. The food is cooked on the premises and alternatives are offered if she won't eat from the daily menu. The laundry is processed on the premises too and the home is very clean. Holly Lodge is a purpose-built dementia nursing home and provides all she needs. The staff are very caring and deal with her moods, especially when she is being awkward or obstinate, and keep me informed of changes in her condition. I would definitely recommend Holly Lodge to anyone looking to find a good caring, professional nursing home for their family member.

My relative went to Holly Lodge about four years ago after a stroke and with serious dementia. She has some very challenging behaviour and we got to the point where she could not be managed in her own home any longer. The staff are very caring and do their best to give her as good a quality of life as they can.

I did have a few concerns a couple of years ago about the level of agency staff being used and a dip in the activities. Recently I have noticed a distinct improvement back to where things were when we first chose Holly Lodge or even better. The gardens and home are always clean, I regularly see staff I know and despite some very challenging clients, they manage to make it a lively, caring and pleasant place to be.

A very welcoming home. All staff at all levels are very polite, are happy to engage in conversation and offer feedback freely.
Food is excellent, although portion sizes are rather large for most residents (just an observation).

I would like to see a bit more attention is taken to the resident notes on their preferences on food, especially if they are not eating very well and other options could be offered.

Extremely caring, friendly, knowledgeable staff, from top to bottom. My mum always looks well and very clean. All problems are dealt with quickly and efficiently. Their communications with relatives have also improved and any incident or problem is quickly reported to me. Considering the terrible mental condition my mum suffers from, this home is the safest, nicest possible place for her!
