I could not have wished for a better place for M-I-L to live. It felt like somewhere she truly belonged I felt she would feel at home there.
Thanks very much for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm delighted your mother-in-law felt at home and a sense of belonging here. Wishing you all the best, Charlie
Overall, I have been very comfortable and well cared for. The care is a little disjointed, and there seems to be no routine to timing, but it gets there in the end. It may have been my palette, but some of the main courses seemed very overcooked, but the puddings were generally delicious.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are pleased to hear that you felt comfortable and well cared for during your stay.
We appreciate your comments regarding the timing of care. Our person-centred approach allows support and daily routines to be tailored to individual...
I went into Huntington House for 10 days post-op care, which was perfect in every way. It felt like being at home with the added benefit of superb support of every type. A very happy place.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words. I'm so pleased you felt it was a home from home. I hope your recovery has continued to go well. Best wishes, Charlie
I spent a fortnight there 18 months previously, and it was telling that over half the staff were there then and welcomed me back, which I feel says much of the excellent work ethos and management. A happy and efficient team.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review, and for your kind words about the team. It was a pleasure to have you at Huntington House, and lovely to meet you this time. I trust all is going well with your ongoing recovery, and I wish you all the very best for the future. Best wishes, Charlie
We will always be extremely grateful for the love and support shown to mum in her time at Huntington House.
Kevin, thanks so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to us. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have your Mum at Huntington House. She will be missed by so many of us. Best wishes, Charlie
Overall, Huntington was the right place for our father in his final months. The home as an old manor house, has character and continues very well with all the staff's care, which is personal and respectful. Huntington feels like a private home, not an institution, which is what our father needed. The staff are fabulous and very caring, we cannot thank them enough for caring so well for our father in his last months.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. The feedback is really appreciated, and your kind words will mean a lot to the team. Best wishes, Charlie
The Shepherds Hub, the conservatory, can be reserved for family gatherings to celebrate birthdays, where a cake is made for the resident of their choice, by Huntington. There a regular excellent musicians who bring a variety of musical events. All the staff work hard to give time & care to residents. Management responds promptly to any worries and deals with any issues kindly and openly. We were very happy with the love and care received.
Thanks so much for your review and feedback, it's really appreciated. It was a pleasure to care for your Mum at Huntington House, and we loved that she embraced being involved in everything going on. Best wishes to you all, and many thanks again.
The home was very clean and all the staff were pleasant and very helpful.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. If there is any further feedback you would like to provide you can email me at charlie@hlestate.co.uk, especially as we are currently upgrading the kitchen at Huntington House and re-opening it this month. We have been inviting feedback on our menus over the last few weeks, and would love to hear any suggestions you may have. Best wishes
My father was in Huntington House for about 3 months and I cannot speak too highly of the care he received. I do not want to single out any staff as all were caring, professional, kind and lovely. There were so many activities for him and the home had special people just to do quizzes or play dominoes or take the residents out in the sun to chat. My father needed help with his food and moving about and all the staff were amazing. Eventually he was on the way out and the way the staff helped him and me was so compassionate and genuinely heart warming. This care home is absolutely top notch. I am not surprised it has received awards as it is exceptional. The management is superb and the whole place is simply lovely.
It was such a privilege to look after your father for the time he was with us. Your kind words and heartfelt comments are so appreciated, and really help us raise awareness to others who might be in a similar situation. Take care, and I hope our paths might cross again in the not too distant future. Best wishes
Huntington House is an exceptional care home that has become a second home for our mother. The staff's dedication, compassion and professionalism are unparalleled. When our mother moved in at 90, we thought she had little time left. Remarkably, she thrived, last weekend celebrating her 98th birthday surrounded by family in a beautifully decorated cottage on the grounds. The staff's attention to detail, from understanding her needs to arranging special moments like her birthday, is extraordinary. Despite dementia, she's settled and happy - a transformation we never imagined. The peaceful grounds and home-like atmosphere contribute to her longevity and quality of life. The staff's patience with our family's concerns has been invaluable. Huntington House has given us priceless extra years with our mother, turning an impossible situation into something beautiful. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the entire team for your care and love.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We always hope Huntington House can add value and meaning to people's lives wherever possible so to hear how much your mother and your family have got from her time with us is really very special and will mean so much to the team. Best wishes.
I cannot fault anything at Huntingdon House Nursing Home, they cared for my father during the last seven weeks of his life. I cannot recommend them enough, the care given, support by staff to him and our family was amazing. From the moment we visited to view the care home to the day he died, we could not have been treated any better.
Thanks so much for such kind words. It's a privilege to be able to support families towards the end of a loved one's life, and we are pleased to hear your family felt so supported. We send our heartfelt condolences to you all. Best wishes
I wish to comment on the excellence of care taken by all at the home for my mother, who has been a resident at Huntington for more than five years. I initially had reservations about the quality of care it would be possible for her to receive once it became necessary for her to move from her own home, but Huntington have consistently exceeded any hopes I could have formulated. The staff have been friendly, welcoming and endlessly supportive of our mother throughout that time, showing endless patience with her. In particular, I am exceedingly grateful for the care and persistence taken in recently resolving a difficult problem involving the local authority. The owner of the care home could not have done more, and I will be forever grateful to the management for their kindness, their generosity, and their obvious concern above all for the welfare of our mother. As others have noted, Huntington House truly is an exceptionally well run care home.
Thanks so much for your kind words and recognition, I'm just pleased we managed to achieve a positive outcome. Thanks again for your support. Best wishes
My mother moved into Huntington House in 2019 after the death of my father when she found she was unable to cope with daily life any more. Having thought her days were nearly over, within just a few weeks there was a noticeable change in her as she became stronger in both body and mind, which I put down to the exceptional care she received and continues to. She trusts the long-term staff who work there as do I. The homely environment is warm and comfortable, she enjoys her meals (where her dietary intolerances are well catered for) in the lovely dining room, her complex medical needs are looked after by competent, experienced nurses and the staff are genuinely kind and caring. It is a huge comfort to know that she is safe, happy and so well looked after and I really could not ask for anything more. I would add that the way Huntington responded to the pandemic was remarkable and although I missed my mother terribly during this time, I felt that she was in the best place possible place.
Thanks so much for your heartfelt feedback, and recognition of the team's efforts in the pandemic - your kind words will mean so much to everyone. Best wishes
My mother went into Huntington House for one month for respite care while I was abroad. The feedback from relatives who visited her, and from our own Facetime calls, was always extremely positive. The staff were unfailingly helpful and warm and seemed to have developed a very good relationship with my mother. This clearly helped her to settle in very quickly and ensured that her stay was a very happy one. We would be delighted to use Huntington House again at some point.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. Very pleased to hear your mother had such a positive experience, and would consider Huntington House again. Best wishes, Managing Director.
Huntington House was a breath of fresh air from the moment the door was opened. All of the staff, whatever the role were caring, friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. My sister was very well cared for, always clean, tidy with lots of company when she wanted it. Her pain very well controlled, the staff were wonderful, showing real affection for her and us, notifying us of any concerns or changes. We as a family were delighted that her last few months were at Huntington House.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. Your kind words will be really appreciated by the whole team, and we are so glad you and your sister had such a positive experience. Best wishes, Charlie
My brother arrived here for his end of life care after several weeks in a hospice. The hospice was excellent but this was a much more suitable and homely place for the time he had left. The nursing care he needed was more than many nursing homes can provide, but the Huntington House team took it all in their stride. His care was skillful and tender - more like 'a home with nursing' than a conventional nursing home.
He had a lovely large room with an outlook over glorious woodland in a quiet area of the building. Huntington is a converted older house, but the conversion has been done with modern care standards in mind - proper bathrooms, room for the gradually increasing equipment needs, wide doors and corridors etc. The staff do not wear uniforms or name badges, which encourages getting to know their names and a family feel. I certainly felt they knew me (and, more importantly, my brother) quickly. The team responded rapidly to his changing needs, which was very reassuring.
Thanks so much for such a thoughtful review, and your kind words about your brother's care. It will really help others in a similar situation to know the level of care they can expect from us, and the team will be so pleased that their care was so appreciated. Best wishes
Very professionally managed and all the staff are excellent, as is the food!
Tempted to say faultless, on reflection, yes.
Thanks very much for taking the time to leave a review, and for your compliments, they're much appreciated. I'm pleased to hear that you think so highly of the team and the food! Best wishes, Charlie
My mother has been living at Huntington House since 2016 and we are extremely happy with the care she receives. The staff are warm and caring and also professional. We definitely feel she is in safe hands.
Thanks very much for taking the time to leave a review, and for your kind words. The team will be so pleased to hear that their care and kindness is appreciated. Best wishes, Charlie
Set on beautiful grounds, Huntington House is a very welcoming place. There are always plenty of activities available each day to those who want to take part. Once staff had worked out Mum's interest they have now encouraged her to participate in many activities which were not previously available to her and as a result, she has made new friends and is able to get outside.
Although she has only been there a few months, I would not hesitate to recommend it.
I'm so pleased to hear that your Mum has been enjoying participating in activities, and the team will be really happy to know that they've helped make a difference. Thanks very much for taking the time to leave this lovely review. Best wishes, Charlie
Her birthday was celebrated with other residents in the lounge decorated with balloons and a delicious cake was enjoyed.
When my friend has required medical attention this is provided by the excellent GP Surgery with prompt transfers to the local hospital accompanied by staff from Huntington House. Throughout a protracted stay in hospital, the Huntingdon House team remained in contact with us and with my friend. We could not ask for better care for our dear friend who is treated as an individual but also feels very much a part of the Huntingdon family.
Thanks so much for such meaningful comments about the holistic care at Huntington House, the team will be thrilled to hear that everything they do is so appreciated. Best wishes.

I am always more than happy to chat to anyone trying to figure out the best way forward for their loved one requiring care, so please don't hesitate to contact us and ask for me if I can help in any way at all.
