We've had a very positive experience for my mum's respite whilst I've been convalescing from an operation. We met James in Account Services and Customer Relations initially and he took me through the administrative process clearly and explained everything to do with the Avery Virginia Water's services and location very clearly. The level of care has been excellent for mum who has a number of complex medical conditions and we very much appreciated Senior Carers Julita's and Natalia's visit to our home for an informal assessment to see whether mum could manage her own medication and her overall physical condition and vulnerability. They've been an ongoing source of contact. Anila who liaises with the local Drs has also been amazing making sure that mum's medical needs are properly noted as well as ensuring meds are ordered and assisting with hospital appointments. The Avery VW is a very kind and welcoming establishment and my mum has thoroughly enjoyed her respite this summer.
It has been such a pleasure having your Mother with us and thank you for your kind words. The whole team work so hard to ensure residents and families alike are happy. Thank you again from all of us here.
My dad was a resident in the home he loved the time he was there very well looked after staff were very caring and helpful enjoyed the activities and being around other people dad would have chats with the staff he loved sitting out the front sunbathing watching the cars go by overall experience was excellent
We loved having your Dad with us K, we are happy we were able to bring some enjoyment and company to his life. Thank you for the lovely feedback
Grandad went into Avery Care Home for respite care, and they truly gave him some of the best days of his life.
The care was 10/10, the food was wonderful and the setting felt like a palace. Most importantly, Grandad was so happy there. The staff went above and beyond to make sure he could do the things he wanted, whether that was simply sitting peacefully in the sunshine or enjoying the little moments that meant so much to him.
They gave him comfort, happiness and memories that we will treasure forever. A huge thank you to every member of staff at Avery for the kindness, compassion and care you showed Grandad and our family.
We couldn't recommend Avery highly enough to anyone considering care or respite care for a loved one.
Thank you for your lovely words. It was an absolute pleasure to look after your Grandad. I know how much your words will mean to all the team here. Thank you again.
My dad, who is 100, had been living with us for several months but due to the ill health of my husband and the fraility of my dad we had to make the difficult decision to move my dad into care. I have looked at several care homes but this one stood out.
The care home have been so welcoming and caring. My dad is well looked after they respond to his needs without question. They also keep me updated regarding any concerns they or the doctor have about him.
When I visit they ask how I am and how my husband is. I feel so comfortable with the way they are and what they do.
I have absolutely no concerns about this care home and know we made the right decision by placing my dad in their capable hands.
It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome your Dad to our home. I know it was a hard decision but it's pleasing to know that you feel you made the right decision for him. We look forward continuing to care for him and welcoming you when you visit. Many thanks from all of us.
My dad who is now 100 is unable to live at home. This has been a difficult transition for the family. The care home staff could not have been any kinder and welcoming. He has become particularly frail and currently has an injured back. The staff have been extremely responsive to his needs to make him as comfortable as possible. The quality of care is excellent. His room is immaculate and so is the rest of the care home. They have a very warm and inviting dining area. The care home has taken many steps to make it feel like home. They have table clothes on each table during meals, which is a very nice touch. There is a garden area in the rear of the home as well as a nice lounge and sun room. Staff are ready to greet visitors when you arrive and are extremely welcoming. I live in another country and after spending 10 days visiting daily I feel very comfortable about returning home. The staff from top to bottom are fantastic and this is key.
It has been a pleasure welcoming your Dad to our home and thank you so much for your words. Our focus is always on the resident and it's lovely to know that you recognise how well Dad is being looked after. Many thanks again.
The place is very respectful to all the residents be them long or short term. All the staff are very friendly and professional. My mum has been there now for just over 3 months and is enjoying the place very much. She is a lot more active and gets on very well with all the staff and is also making friends with the other residents. The home is set in a nice area with a little walk to some shops.
How lovely to read your review, thank you. Mum really has settled in so well and is a massive part of our community. We look forward to continue looking after her and seeing her build relationships with residents and staff alike. Many thanks again.
My dad is currently in Avery Virginia Water care home for respite, since he's been there his health and state of mind has improved greatly, I cannot fault the care dad is receiving by the attentive care team
That's great to hear, we welcome all feedback from residents and relatives. It is great to see how your Dad has improved since coming to Virginia water care home
The care shown to my husband since his arrival by each staff member is one of dignity and compassion.
My husband is settling daily and I know that he will now be in a safer, & happier, environment.
I have to mention here about his regained appetite. He loves the food at the Home and is at last eating and finishing his meals. He had lost a lot of weight prior to his arrival but now slowly getting back his strength and energy levels. Great to see all unfold!!
Thank you so much for your lovely words, they really do epitomise what we are all about here. We look forward to continuing to look after your husband and we are so pleased we have been able to support you all through a difficult period. Thank you again.
Choosing a care home can be difficult but after seeing this one from the very first day. I know they/I would be very happy. The staff and management have gone above and beyond to make my aunt and her twin sister feel at home. I cannot recommend Virginia Water care home highly enough!

My friend has been in Virginia Water Care Home for around 14 months now. She is in the dementia care unit. Everything to keep her comfortable, safe and feel valued has been done for her, sometimes over and above. This last visit was and open evening with food and entertainment. All was top class and my friend had a wonderful time.
Thank you for your feedback. We take pride in ensuring our residents, family and friends enjoy being at Virginia water care home. We always enjoy visits. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
Having been in a prior home Virginia Water was so much better. The staff seemed happy to be there and the place felt comfortable and relaxing. The carers also seemed very happy and able to deal with my father and showed genuine affection.
Thank you Jonathan for your kind review. It was our pleasure to care for your father, we all miss him here at Virginia Water. Sending our love to you and the family.
I always feel comfortable when visiting my friend. Good atmosphere clean - spacious, hospitality good. Staff very happy and helpful, kind. The staff make the visitors very welcome.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you always feel comfortable and enjoy our home. We love to see visitors to Virginia water, and look forward to seeing you again soon.
My friend has lived here for several years and has been well cared for. The standard of hygiene and catering is very high. Inevitably their have been some issues arising but these have been resolved by the manager very well. As a visitor, I have always felt welcome and confident that my dear friend well cared for. My only reservation is the high costs.
We are pleased that you note our high standards in care and all other areas. We also thank you for taking the time to review us. As ever we like to resolve any issues or concerns, with immediate action to ensure our residents continue to enjoy living with us at Virginia water. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit.
I've been a volunteer at Virginia Water care home since February 2026 and never had an issue. In fact, I have been quite happy volunteering there every weekend. Both the staff and residents are welcoming, and I truly felt like I was entering a second family. I enjoy coming here every Saturday, knowing I will be greeted by lovely faces, happy to spend time together and share stories. Whether it's helping with activities or simply having a conversation, every visit feels meaningful and rewarding. Volunteering here has not only allowed me to give back to the community, but it has also brought me a great deal of joy and experience for my future. It is a truly wonderful and positive environment.
Thank you so much for the review- we are so pleased you enjoy your time at Virginia water, as do all our staff and residents, they enjoy seeing you every weekend
Mum went into the home for respite, she loved it, we love it, food is fantastic, carers exceptional, they have such a good time. She has now been there a year, and has been very well looked after, no worrying about her, just amazing visits. Thank you to all the staff, for their care to her she is 101 next month.
Aww thank you so much for the lovely review, we are so pleased to hear this, and we look forward to the birthday celebrations, we will share this with the whole team at Virginia water, thank you again
I find Virginia Water Care Home to be an exceptionally kind and thoughtful environment for the purposes of respite care on a temporary basis. The staff are helpful, understanding and solicitous. Every effort is made to provide stimulation and a pleasant stay for residents. The standard of care is high, safety is a priority; food is nutritious and great attention is paid to cleanliness/hygiene there are plenty of people to talk to for company.
Thank you Vasso, for you're lovely feedback. We love caring and supporting you.
I made an enquiry for my very dear friend for some respite care. James was so accommodating and amazing and sorted out a wonderful room for Iris and has looked after her and made her feel so welcome. The staff have been so lovely, kind and looked after her as she is quite shy and when I visited last week she was in the lounge plying carpet bowls! She has loved her time so much that she ow does not want to go home and stay where she is! I could not recommend Avery Virginia Water any higher and if you are thinking about a care home this is exceptional. The food is outstanding, the staff wonderful, the activities so well organised and nothing is too much. Thank you so very much for changing my friend's life so much - I have not seen her this happy for such a long time.
Thank you for the lovely review and for taking the care to recommend our home - it is truly appreciated and we will pass your kind words along to the staff.
My mum has been in the care home for a month now. I was very anxious to have mum in a home as there is nothing compared to looking after a relative as a loved one, but i can honestly say Virginia Water staff are like a family to my mum, they have been wonderful, caring and supportive to my mum and she loves being there. X
Thank you so much for your lovely words, it really epitomises what the team here work towards. We have loved welcoming your Mum here and look forward to continuing to look after her. Thank you so much again from all of us here.
My mother went into the home on 10th July 2025 as was very upset at having to leave her own home. The staff made her so welcome and nothing is to much trouble. The food is outstanding and the daily programme of activities is really good and my mother has enjoyed joining in with the other residents. She has had a few wobbles since she has been there but the staff have been fantastic at calming her down and putting her mind at rest. My sister and I were worried about how she would cope but are so pleased with how everything has gone. It has given us peace of mind knowing that she is receiving such good care and there is always someone there to help and talk to
Thank you so much for your kind words. We have all loved helping your Mother settle in with us here and she has become a huge part of the community. The team as you mention are always on hand to support with the transition which can be difficult at points and your kind words will be gratefully received by them. Many thanks again.
After my Mother was discharged from rehab hospital after having her hip replaced we found that her existing carers at her home were finding it increasingly difficult to look after her with her restricted mobility. At short notice we needed to find a care home and organised a thorough tour of the Virginia Water Care Home and organised everything to ensure a smooth transition into the home. All the staff have been very friendly and understanding and we have the comfort of knowing that she is in a safe environment and being well looked after.
Thank you so much for your feedback on your experience with us here at Virginia Water. We always aim to be as pro active as possible to help families in situations like yourselves and it was a pleasure to help. The team all work so hard to help new residents settle in and it's been great to see the hard work paying off with your Mother. Many thanks again.

Meet the Team (5)

I started with Avery Healthcare in 2023. I have worked in the Health & Social Care sector since I was sixteen. I love to see people live in a care home, having their life fulfilled, making memories, and living life to the fullest! Working in our residents' home is a great honour, and I still love my work and what each day brings.

I have had the privilege of working at our home since 2010. I am truly passionate about ensuring our residents have the best quality care giving their families peace of mind.
The importance of my role is to ensure that all the care and clinical aspects are met beyond expectation and that both the resident and family are supported to their fullest.
We have a dedicated and knowledgeable team who work together consistently empowering residents to maximise their ability to preserve independence with safeguarding in mind for all individuals. We are a caring family home for our residents.

Hi, my name is Samantha Wells and I am the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator at Virginia Water. I have been working here since August 2015.
I truly enjoy my job, getting to know all Residents individually and listening to their life stories. This is a chance to explore their past and gain an insight into their lives and some memorable and meaningful moments. At Virginia Water, we have a lovely activities team and we run the Live with Purpose Programme. This covers a variety of Activities enriching the mind, body and soul. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our residents smiling, laughing and having a good time.

I started my career at the iconic Waldorf Hotel in London which inspired my passion for hospitality.
Unsocial hours and the birth of my daughter made me rethink my career and hence the transition to care home catering for the past 15 years. I have never looked back. I really enjoy catering for all our residents’ dietary requirements. It’s a very rewarding job and a privilege to cook for them in their home. A birthday celebration never goes by without a personalised cake. My team also support special events in the home.

With over 20 years of experience in hotel management I was in search of a new challenge. In joining the team at Virginia Water care home in February 2024 in this business administration role I felt I could encompass my knowledge and experience and challenge myself to adapt it into the care sector. I felt very privileged to be offered the position and am already loving getting to know the residents and working with the team here in a very friendly and welcoming environment. Whether it be billing queries from the residents or work related queries from the team members I am here to assist and I get great satisfaction from helping others. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure our residents happiness and their family’s peace of mind.
