The staff are always friendly and helpful and look after my mother with respect and kindness. They have a wonderful sense of humour and endless patience. Residents are always clean and well turned out. Everywhere is clean, smells nice and full of flowers.

My mother-in-law is very safe and secure and happy. It has taken a great weight off my mind.


The staff are very willing to make the family feel that everything is under control and they do not need to worry. I now have confidence I am not along dealing with all the problems of old age.

I have lived here very contently for 8 1/2 years and have no complaints. Luckily I am in very good health, but I see the staff attending frail or unwell residents and I have much admiration for the care and patience they show the residents. Our wellness section is very quick to respond to any health
problems, arranging a Doctor's visit if necessary. The food is very good and the menu well varied.

I have been very pleased with the care mum has received at Sunrise of Virginia Water. She came in for some respite to recuperate after an operation. She has taken advantage of the many activities; the daily crossword, the keep fit classes which has helped improve her strength. The Sunrise of Virginia
Water team are first class; professional, respectful and friendly. They have not only made mum welcome but the whole family. My 6-year-old son loves to go in and play with the football table! I would definitely recommend Sunrise of Virginia Water for those who can afford it.

I have been with Sunrise for many years. In the beginning, my late Husband and I spent many a happy holiday together. Since he died my children thought it an excellent idea for me to live here! I am happy, in my opinion, it is a very good home, especially for some residents who need a lot of help. One
thing I do miss is more outing and sometimes evening entertainment.

I find living here, so far, a pleasant experience. There is a choice in the food and on the whole it is more than quite satisfactory. The room I have is a fair size and comfortable with space for clothes etc. The staff are helpful and so far I have had no difficulties. There are lectures and group activities
which I find interesting. The surroundings are pleasant, the staff helpful and, so far, it is an easy place in which to live. No complaints so far.

A very good home for elderly people with dementia. Staff know the residents very well and many of them have worked at this home for several years. Facilities are good and the rooms and gardens have been upgraded recently.

My parents are unhappy about all the various changes, having only been here 12 months.
Changes of people, carers and management. Also unhappy about the disruption caused by the refurbishment etc.

My mother has lived at Sunrise for 2years and 8months. Mum receives excellent attention from all the staff, from management, carers, activities, hairdresser, housekeeping and catering etc.
The activities are excellent and I am made to feel involved in this lovely community. It is a home from home with
wonderful, kind, caring and professional staff.
The food is lovely, it is difficult to cater all the time for all tastes.

The importance of my role is to ensure that all the care and clinical aspects are met beyond expectation and that both the resident and family are supported to their fullest.


We have a dedicated and knowledgeable team who work together consistently empowering residents to maximise their ability to preserve independence with safeguarding in mind for all individuals. We are a caring family home for our residents.

Hi, my name is Samantha Wells and I am the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator at Virginia Water. I have been working here since August 2015.


I truly enjoy my job, getting to know all Residents individually and listening to their life stories. This is a chance to explore their past and gain an insight into their lives and some memorable and meaningful moments. At Virginia Water, we have a lovely activities team and we run the Live with Purpose Programme. This covers a variety of Activities enriching the mind, body and soul. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our residents smiling, laughing and having a good time.

Job Title: Head Chef/Dining Services Manager

I started my career at the iconic Waldorf Hotel in London which inspired my passion for hospitality.


Unsocial hours and the birth of my daughter made me rethink my career and hence the transition to care home catering for the past 15 years. I have never looked back. I really enjoy catering for all our residents’ dietary requirements. It’s a very rewarding job and a privilege to cook for them in their home. A birthday celebration never goes by without a personalised cake. My team also support special events in the home.

Job Title: Business Administrator Manager Joined: 2024

With over 20 years of experience in hotel management I was in search of a new challenge. In joining the team at Virginia Water care home in February 2024 in this business administration role I felt I could encompass my knowledge and experience and challenge myself to adapt it into the care sector. I felt very privileged to be offered the position and am already loving getting to know the residents and working with the team here in a very friendly and welcoming environment. Whether it be billing queries from the residents or work related queries from the team members I am here to assist and I get great satisfaction from helping others. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure our residents happiness and their family’s peace of mind.
