Tandridge Heights Memorial Care Home is a purpose-built nursing and residential home and is set in the heart of leafy Oxted in Surrey. As an award-winning home, residents not only deserve the best, but this is what they get.

They are proud winners of the Frontline Leader of the Year 2020 (Great British Care Awards South East) and a British Citizen Award of the Year 2020 for their volunteers' contribution to Community. They were also runner-up of the 2020 Care Home Heroes Award and Hospitality Champion 2020 in Barchester Awards.

The dining experience is a big feature and a lot of effort is made by the chef and her team to provide home-cooked food from scratch for all meals at Tandridge Heights. The chef can cater for all needs including vegetarian, vegan, pureed and religious diets.

The activities team provide a varied programme of life enrichment for all residents catering for the mind, body and soul. They ensure that the home continues to play a big part in the community to keep links for residents prominent in their local area.

They are pleased to have a resident Ambassador who is involved in interviewing staff, giving feedback and make varying changes to the environment as needed.

Mum has been so well looked after in the last three weeks since I bought her to stay at Tandridge Heights. Everyone has been so caring and considerate about her wellbeing and mine and I am delighted that I made the decision to move her closer to me.

Looks pleasant on entering.
The staff were very courteous towards us.
The next thing I noticed was how clean the reception area is and there are facilities to make a lovely welcoming hot drink.
Upon entering my Aunty's room she is happy and clean/tidy.
The staff she says, are so good to her, changing
the menu to suit her needs.
They always offer us refreshments.
Activities are wonderful and make my Aunty feel as though there is lots to look forward to every day.

Extremely pleasant staff greeting you every time you enter the premises.
My Aunty is always clean and her room is tidy.
She is offered alternative meals as she is fussy.
Every time a carer enters her room to help her on the commode I am offered tea or coffee and if I prearrange I can join my Aunty
for dinner.
There are lots of activities going on for the residents to participate in.
A really pleasant atmosphere to be in.

My Mum had to go into a home due to falls. From the moment I walked into the home the Manager reassured me and offered me emotional and factual support and advice. Then another lady kept me calm on the financial front! It has been a massive upheaval and shock, to not only Mum, but to everyone in our
family. Yesterday Mum rang me to say she is happier than she has been in years. Result!

Tandridge Heights is a very friendly homely care home. My mother has a lovely sunny spacious room and as an alternative to her own home, it is perfect. The staff are lovely and make family and friends very welcome. There is a lovely informal feeling about the place and it feels like home. I feel my
mother is well cared for and happy and cannot ask for more. The handyman is worth his weight of gold nothing is too much trouble.

Our mother had never wanted to live in a nursing home but her experience at Tandridge Heights completely changed her view. The staff supported her in maintaining her independence as far as she was able. They were friendly and caring and spent time making sure that she was able to participate in activities
and everyday routines. On many occasions, Mum told us that she was very happy in her new home and would never wish to leave.

I have been frequently visiting a resident in your home and have found it to be extremely clean, sweet smelling and spacious. The staff are all very friendly, accommodating and kind to both residents and visitors.
The food looks delicious and nourishing and the residents seem extremely well cared for.

I came for day care to help my carers have a rest. It is lovely. I have a bath and lunch and a chance to chat to other people, as well as join in the activities. Staff are marvellous. Food is good. It is lovely.

My husband was admitted for end of life care. The nursing and care was excellent. His room was like a hotel room, en-suite. He was only there for 2 weeks but was comfortable. The food was also excellent, as were the facilities. The atmosphere was friendly an relaxed. Staff and the manager were always
helpful. I cannot speak highly enough of Tandridge Heights. We chose this nursing home after viewing others locally.

Extremely well managed care home. Professional and efficient but more importantly they put the "home" in care home. The staff treat the residents with dignity and professionalism but truly care. They treat the residents like their own family. There is love and attention bestowed on the residents like
their own family. The facilities are excellent the house is exceptionally clean and the residents kept personally clean again in a respectful way with dignity. The food is excellent its like a five star hotel nice touches with the menus listing what is available without a doubt I would recommend. The manager deserves a medal.

My father became a resident of Tandridge Heights Nursing Home in April 2017. During his short stay at the home he was treated with the utmost care and attention. The staff were wonderful, caring and looked after his many needs. He was very happy and felt he was always treated with dignity. We were

I was resident at Tandridge Heights for two weeks following a hip operation and could not fault them in any way. The food was home cooked and well presented. Smaller amounts were served, always with a choice and suitable for elderly people and looked tempting and tasty. The staff were all pleasant and
listened if you had a problem and then acted on it. In fact, it is a care home with the residents very much in mind. Should I eventually need full-time care, Tandridge Heights will be my choice.

The standard of overall care and opportunities to socialise and join activities were very good. The nursing staff were particularly professional and caring. We found the management to be generally available and very helpful. The room was pleasant and a good size but the furnishings needed attention.
General housekeeping could be improved ie. Putting clothes away tidily and cleaning more thoroughly.

Nisha works with Tandridge Heights as a sole trader to provide audiology services. Nisha is a qualified solicitor with over 10 years of experience working in the City specialising in medical negligence and catastrophic injury. Following the arrival of her two young boys, she decided to leave her career in law and create a business to channel her passion for standards of care while using her legal knowledge. Nisha leads a team of staff that are passionate about ear care and who understand just how important hearing is. To meet resident’s hearing needs, they have developed a unique approach so that they can look after the health of resident’s ears, as well as their hearing, from the first time they see the resident. Every resident they see will receive a free Ear and Hearing Health Check. The resident’s journey begins with a short 10-minute assessment to check the health of the ear and identify any concerns or build-up of wax. If a hearing loss is identified, they offer a free and comprehensive Full Hearing Assessment during which the resident will undergo a series of further tests to identify the type of hearing loss. The audiologist will go through the different options to suit the resident’s need and with a FLEX:TRIAL, their audiologist can monitor how and where the resident uses their hearing aid so that it can be tailored to their specific requirements. The audiologist also provides aftercare services and a personalised care plan. A video otoscope is used to check the ear so that the residents can see for themselves what the audiologist has found. If a loved one cannot be present, they are also able to send them a copy of the results, ensuring full transparency and peace of mind for everyone.

Kate works with Tandridge Heights as a sole trader to provide physiotherapy services. Kate qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2003 from Cardiff University. She joined the physiotherapy department at East Surrey Hospital and completed her junior rotations. In 2005, she became a Senior Physiotherapist in Trauma and Orthopaedics and was then appointed as Team Leader Physiotherapist in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Royal Surrey County Hospital in 2009. She then went to become the Rehabilitation Director for the South West London and Surrey Trauma Network in 2018. She has also worked at Kingsmead Physiotherapy Clinic since 2014 and has completed a range of post-graduate courses. Kate works within the clinic setting but also in the community, both in patients’ homes and within a range of nursing and residential care homes in the local area. She has a special interest in the management of Parkinson’s Disease, the rehabilitation of older people, post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation, and post trauma recovery. She runs an exercise and advice group for people with Parkinson’s Disease. She also offers teaching to staff in care settings to include people moving and handling, falls prevention, exercise prescription, management of Parkinson’s Disease and post-trauma management. Kate has a special interest in the physiotherapy management of older people and has been treating residents at Tandridge Heights for many years. She has a holistic approach to her treatment sessions, including strengthening and flexibility exercises, balance re-education, gait re-education, postural correction, exercises to improve/maintain fitness, falls prevention and practice of functional activities.
