I have been very impressed with the level of care my grandmother has been receiving at Bay House. The staff are very attentive and caring and the quality of food, the times I have eaten there, has been very good.

My mother went to Bay House at the end of November. She was very ill in December and while more stable now, is in an overall poor state. We visit regularly and she is always clean, comfortable and settled within herself. I am pleased with the care, staff are kind, responsive and doing a good job. It
gives me great peace of mind.

My husband spent his last four weeks in the care of those who work at Bay House Care. He received care, compassion, kindness and attention beyond anything I had expected. I can not thank the staff enough for everything they did for him, me and our family. I have visited several times since my husband
died and have always been welcomed and been treated like family.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
All the staff at Bay House gave my mum an exceptional level of care during mum's 8-month stay. It was a comfort to know that she was a being so well looked after. It is truly one big family and a home from home.
She always looked so cosy, clean and comfortable and this was so important to the family
as she could not communicate her feelings/wishes.
Everybody showed compassion and kindness to us all as a family, especially during mum's final few days. They are all heroes and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

My father has been living at Bay House since September 2011. On Wednesday 5th October 2016 my father was at the end of his life. Bay House staff gave my father and myself constant support, nothing was too much trouble, they cared for me while I stayed beside my father and they cared for my father as
they would have had he been their father, from the moment my father entered Bay House until the day he passed. All the staff at Bay House could not have treated him any better. They are wonderful people.
Reply from Nazir Manji, Manager Director at Bay House CareThank you for your kind words, Carole. Your dad will be surely missed.

Mum sadly had to give up her own home due to decreasing mobility. Although mums stay at Bay House Care was a short one, the staff did everything to help her settle into her new home during a time of a major adjustment in her life. All the staff were friendly, caring and professional. Nursing care was
excellent and they were able to promptly identify a change in her health status leading to transfer to hospital.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.830)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.830) out of 10 for Bay House Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.955 for Bay House Care is calculated as follows: ( (172 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 179 Ratings = 4.955
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bay House Care is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
